I took my Lexus RX to TLC lube for an inspection sticker: when I arrived the owner asked for my insurance and registration so I got it for him, a mechanic drove my vehicle into the bay, and I went inside to wait. Shortly thereafter the mechanic came inside with my insurance and registration in hand to tell me that my bright lights did not work. He advised me to take my vehicle to the shop across the street (owned by the same man who owns TLC). I was baffled as I use them daily. I went out to my vehicle to see the lights turned "off". I turned them on and checked the brights and they worked. I walked into the bay and called for the mechanic. I said, "Sir my brights work, you had them turned off." He walked up to my car and I illustrated my point. The mechanic sat in my vehicle and the owner walked out to watch. The owner barked to the mechanic, "flip 'em on so I can see if they're broken." He did. They weren't. I said, "Ok, can I have my sticker now." This made the owner angry and he barked back at me, "no we still have to inspect it..." I went inside to wait. The man inside asked me what was going on. I explained the situation and while we were talking the owner walked inside to ask if I had the wheel lock to my lug nuts. I said, "yes, I just had my brakes changed today." He walked out and then back in. In a rude and loud manner he asked me where I had my brake work done and I responded, "why does it matter?" He said, "it matters to me." I said, "Lexus." He said, "oh, why do they do that stuff. They get on me about stickers but they do all the big stuff and send the stickers here to guys like me." It was at this point I knew that the owner was mad for three reasons: I, a female, told two men how to turn on the lights of a vehicle, I didn't fall for the "it's broken but I can fix it for you at my garage for a price" scam, and because I spent $1500.00 at Lexus but went to his shop for a $14.00 sticker that would cost him $20.00 in labor. I looked at him and asked why he was so hostile (the gentleman in the office heard me say this) and the owner yelled back to the bay telling the mechanic to stop and pull my car out. He said he would not give me a sticker. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO AVOID THIS PLACE! I will also be calling the WV State Police traffic safety section to report him and his business. read more
