My son went to TLC years ago when he was 2 years old, from 2013 to 2015.. it was amazing then and it's still amazing now! My youngest daughter now attends Pre-K at TLC. She loves it so much, she always has stories to tell when I pick her up. Her teacher, Ms. Cherisa, is such a joy and the kids just love her. You can tell she truly has a passion for teaching and preparing her students for kindergarten. Back in 2013, Ms. Anita was my son's teacher, and she is still the 2s teacher today which just shows how amazing of a 2s teacher she is! The amenities and technology are the cherry on top of this facility. Town Square, the splash pad, Spanish class, computer class, Mr. David performances, and more are my daughter's favorites. Ms. Angela and Ms. Natalie, the director and assistant director, are awesome at what they do. We enrolled our 2 and 4 year old at TLC in the fall. It was my daughter's first time in full time daycare, and my son's second time (he was in full time when he was around 4 months old--at TLC!). I used to work at TLC, and I loved how the program is set up. My kids are in love with their teachers--Ms. Lilly and Ms. Roycee. They are fed so well throughout the day and have learned so much already in just 3 months! My kids come home telling me words they have learned in Spanish or ASL. They get to do technology, have a fun play area called town square, a gym with fun equipment, and multiple play areas for outside time. Even on weekends my son asks if he can go back to school the next day. TLC's hours are awesome and even offer parent's night out! I am happy we chose to come back to TLC after my time off work. I absolutely love my daughter's daycare! One of the biggest things for me as a working mom is convenience, and I love how close it is to my job -- it makes drop-off and pick-up so much easier. My daughter has been going here since July, and the experience has been amazing from day one. I also really appreciate the option to have camera access for a small fee. Being able to check in on her throughout the day gives me so much peace of mind. The app is another huge plus. The communication is constant and clear -- I get updates, pictures, and daily details without ever having to wonder how she's doing. It truly feels like we're always connected. We have two kids at TLC since 2019 and we couldn't be happier! Our Pre-K child is reading, writing, and is always so excited to go to school! The curriculum is awesome. There's a solid structure and routine throughout the day which I think is crucial for kids. They also offer separate extra-curricular classes like science club, amazing athletes, and karate. They have Mr. David concerts and Parents Night Out once a month. During the summer, the Pre-K classes go on weekly field trips to museums, splash pads, and playgrounds. I have worked at a couple different preschools in the Plano and Carrollton area but none like TLC. Coming from an inside perspective I have little to no complaints. At first glance the school is clean and built in every way for the safety and enjoyment of the children. Their town square reminds me of the google images of a kids museum! It makes grown adults want to play in it. The schedule is changing every 30 minutes to keep the kids interested and learning. Everything is centered around learning and bettering the youth within. The curriculum is so easy to follow for the children. The director Ms.Angela is amazing not only does she tend to her staff but each and every student. My son started in Ms.Anitas class and fell in love. She was so welcoming and helped potty trained him extremely fast. Ms.Melba has been nothing short as well. I worked at this school and ended my 30 year carrier of teaching at this school. So my view will be from the inside. For me. TLC was an enchanted place. The director who hired me has since retired but, she was as real as real could be. She was hard but fair. Mrs Angela who was the curriculum director at the time, is now, the director. Ms Angela works very hard she always did her best to make sure things were done well. Also she is very Creative! OMG! Ms Angela knows the business inside out. Upon my departure she was taking her place as director. Ms.Angela is a very dedicated to that children, and staff. Ms Natalie is the voice you hear first thing every morning! She is joyful, smiling, and the positive thread that keeps everyone together! I adored ms Natalee!! She did what ever she could to make sure your child felt safe, loved, and wanted. About the job. The work is hard, the days are long. Sometimes getting a potty break is the biggest challenge of the day. Nonetheless , the work is rewarding, the smiles are real, and the spontaneous hugs from the children keeps you coming back the next day. The curriculum is solid. And has proven to give students an advantage when starting public school. There is not much time for socializing on the job. However,somehow you find life long friends there and for the most part the staff works together. The food is wonderful and children are taught table manners,they learn to sit and eat correctly. The teaching and learning never stops at TLC. The things I took in personally were I was once told that the people up front were the family, everyone else were the step children. That was the most hurtful thing that was said to me. What I didn't see was diversity and inclusion up front. There wasn't a person of color at all. Most of the children there are of other nationalities yet, there was not any diversity up front. No one spoke another language fluently. Even though there is a big push to have diversity across the board, I found that to be the biggest weak spot at TLC. There was no diversity up front it reminded me of working in East Texas, some things it was thought , minorities just didn't fit. They didn't even have a minority on the shift no one wanted! Lol! Which is their loss. Having someone who could reflect the other cultures, could cause people to feel more comfortable. And allow them to look at your business as one that makes the effort. Another thing I found was parent and teacher interaction time. I believe if you get to know the parents you understand how to teach the child. You don't have to be a social butterfly like me, Chatty Cathy but, who should be able to teach you better about that child is the child's first teacher. If the parent doesn't know about the child you need to know that too. It can be vital to teaching the child. Finally , I found there was never enough time in the day. The days went by fast! I however, was late at times, and that could have been one reason. None the less, I could have stayed all night and there still wasn't enough time! Many times that's the way it is for teachers who love their job. And many of those teachers who have been there for years, do ! Teachers like My mentor Ms.Sharon, and Ms.Pam in the baby room, they are forever with me. Even those who is not your mentor but, you learn something from like my coworker Ms.Pam. She kept me on my toes at ALL Times , but, if you look each has something to teach you. Like it are not it can teach you about you. Like when your too slow! Lol! No job is perfect, but the love one has for teaching must be the closest thing to a perfect job there is. Genuine care that the student excels in the classroom should be the goal for everyone. Bottom line, TLC is one of the best schools in the area for helping your child succeed. That's what I found at TLC from the inside. I think one would be wise to try it on for size. read more

I had a child at TLC Hedgecoxe for years until I had to remove her to ensure her safety after traumatic incident(s) at their school. To other parents considering TLC or with students enrolled: TRUST YOUR GUT - if things seem off, they are. PROS 1) There are a couple of excellent teachers they have not run off (yet) 2) Nice facility from town square to splash pad and tricycle track 3) Perfect for behavioral problems! No real consequences, the well-behaved kids will suffer instead so TLC can keep collecting that CA$H! 4) Video camera access so you can watch your kids and call to intervene when they don't CONS 1) Most teachers there look angry, miserable, or spaced out - no joy 2) Loud, chaotic classrooms -- impossible to hear children's individual voices, much less learn 3) Reactive instead of proactive or preventive 4) "Management" is typically unresponsive but they can be lightning fast... to deny responsibility for your child's safety. Document EVERYTHING thoroughly! 5) Absolute bare minimum staffing (kid/teacher ratio) required by law - not enough 6) DO *NOT* DO CREDIT CARD AUTOPAY! Should you need to withdraw your child immediately to protect them from further neglect, they will gleefully charge you anyway. While this is in line with their refund policy, it's highly unethical and makes it clear where their values lie. In summary, if you actually like your kids, I would send them somewhere better. read more

Our child was at TLC Schools from 12 weeks to 2.5 years. The Director of this school is the embodiment of "should not work in a service industry." She was unnecessarily combative and unprofessional which ultimately led to us moving our child to a Primrose location. The teacher turnover is very high which, for toddlers who do not handle change well, was a source of constant anxiety. When teachers changed, parents were not notified. In addition, children with severe behavioral issues were allowed to remain in the class causing angst for multiple parents and children (some of which have also removed their children). Private healthcare information (this is against the law) about the child was shared with me leading me to wonder what information about my child was also being shared. In short, I did not trust the well being of my child in the hands of the management. The entire tone of the place is just off. Since moving to Primrose my child has become happier and continues to excel. It is slightly more expensive but it is well worth it. read more

As a new mom I am so happy I found TLC. My baby is 4 months old and I have been here for a month. All of the ladies and teachers are always so helpful and patient with me. I know I am neurotic and ask a lot of questions and they always help. My daughter is loved so much there, and I can tell she loves the ladies there. I also love that I can get updates about her schedule each day and that they have cameras in each room so if I want to check in, I can. My family has been with TLC for several years. We started in 2009 with our now 10 year old and have been with them since. Our 10 year old was enrolled thru pre-K and our 4 year old is now in pre-K. We have worked with some great teachers throughout our time with TLC. Our current teacher is Mrs. J and she is doing a great job with him. He is excited about learning! Angela at the front office would flirt with my husband at the time and quickly set him up with a employee during our divorce. They also provided favoritism to the other parent because he has a badge. Professional? Absolutely not. The mosquitos from the creek behind the school were terrible and caused main issues since the playground equipment backs up to it. The school had a high profile case and all of the workers had to sign a nondisclosure agreement but then proceeded to gossip about it to the parents anyways. I will be in contact with the affected parent. The workers all complain about the management to the parents and the turnover is unreal. It's sad because there are a few good teachers there. Also, they ask the parents to post a nice review if someone has a negative review. They asked me before and explained the situation with the upset parent.... read more

The turnover rate is the absolute worst I've ever seen. Management does not care about their employees. They won't even let them use the restroom on the clock. Our son has been a student at TLC since he was 12 weeks old, he's now 18 months ~ he's been there 15 months. The ladies in the baby room treated him like their son. They discovered his feet were turning blue, and immediately called us to contact our Pediatrician for an urgent appointment. He was referred to a Cardiologist for evaluation. These ladies love their kids like their own. He's been taught sign language for more, all done, drink, Dad, Mom, thirsty. His smile is as bright as a full moon, and it's all thanks to the love and attention of the ladies at TLC. I travel extensively, so the parents night out on Saturdays for $25 is an incredible benefit. We love how they have a photographer visit on a regular basis. We can not say enough kind and wonderful things about this location, their management and teachers. Our little guy is so loved and cared about. My wife is able to see all of the rooms where he is and loves watching. From time to time she'll see a teacher letting him lay in her lap, playing on the floor and just loving on him. We'd prefer to have us all at home, but TLC is an extension of our home, and the love we show our son. TLC knows who we are and anyone considering this school is welcome to call us, or we'd be willing to meet at the school to discuss our review. I highly recommend TLC Hedgcoxe as a high-quality, superior education day care. My daughter started there at 14 wks old and recently graduated from Pre-K at TLC. The staff was very receptive to our needs and any concerns through the years and I always felt confident that the happiness and safety of the children was their first priority without question. The teachers are extremely competent and caring and really love the children. Our daughter was always SO happy every day when we picked her up and loved the teachers and kids there. She learned so much during her five years and developed a great deal of independence and confidence as well as wonderful friendships. Plus she was so ahead of the curve going into kindergarten! Her graduation ceremony alone was so impressive and included 12 memorized songs/poems, advanced content (some with sign language!) and felt like 1st grade level kids! TLC's curriculum is excellent and starts very early. They had Spanish for some time, signing time videos where the kids learned ASL, and computer classes weekly with a large touch screen as well as desktop computers. TLC has a "town square" where the kids (starting at age 2) get to play in everyday and use their imaginations with all of amenities of the make believe town! They have outside playtime and are great about applying sunscreen and bug spray during the hot spring/summer months which was very important to me! TLC also has trips to the Plano library and other educational field trips starting at age 4 and my daughter loved attending them. TLC's "summer camp" is neat as well and includes a shallow pool at the facility (w lifeguard) and water slide they set up! My daughter is a healthy, happy, intelligent, independent, kind, compassionate girl and I feel that TLC played an integral role in providing her an amazing foundation that helped her grow into a very well prepared kindergartener.
