One Star - Extremely Disappointing and Disturbing Experience…read more We boarded our Labrador at Blue Barn Ranch in Yucca Valley, trusting that he would receive proper care and attention. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely upsetting. When we picked him up, we discovered a significant abrasion around his neck that appeared consistent with a rope burn or injury from a collar or restraint. The wound was crusted, oozing fluid, and had an unpleasant odor. This was clearly more than a minor scratch. What made the situation even more concerning was learning that the facility had noticed an odor coming from the affected area. We were never notified of any injury or concern about his condition when we picked him up. We subsequently took our dog to our veterinarian, who confirmed that the wound was infected. His neck had to be shaved so the affected area could be properly treated. We are now facing additional veterinary expenses, and the full cost of treatment is still unknown. We entrusted Blue Barn Ranch with the care of a member of our family. Instead, our dog came home with a substantial injury and an infection requiring veterinary attention. The fact that there were apparently signs of a problem while he was at the facility, yet we were not informed, is particularly troubling. We believe every pet owner has the right to expect their animal to be treated with care, monitored appropriately, and returned in a condition that does not require unexpected medical treatment resulting from an injury sustained during boarding. Based on our experience, we would not board our dog at Blue Barn Ranch again. I strongly encourage other pet owners to ask questions and carefully consider their options before trusting this facility with their animals. This was a deeply disappointing experience that has caused our family unnecessary worry, emotional distress, and additional veterinary expenses.

I am so happy to have found Desert Wagz for dog day care services for my 40 lb Siberian Husky! It…read morewas my first time visiting Joshua Tree and learned before my trip that dogs are not allowed in the park. I had to look for day care services and Dawn was very accommodating. On the day of the day care service, my group and I were running late. I originally wanted to get started early and do an earlier drop-off, but I changed the drop off times a few times that morning. I felt really bad for changing the times on Dawn at the last moment, but she was understanding as it was my first visit to Joshua Tree. She is very communicative and I really really appreciate her flexibility. My husky had so much fun that day at day care with Dawn! Dawn makes sure to keep a limited number of dogs, which is perfect scenario for my dog. My dog tends to get nervous in very large groups of dogs and likes the smaller group setting. Dawn also sent me photos throughout the day and gave me a progress report at the end of the day how my dog did. Dawn said my dog had too much fun playing with the other dogs all day right up to the end when it was time to go home. I highly recommend Dawn and her doggy day care services. I will definitely use her the next time I am in town.

Recently brought home a new puppy to my home. Already have a full grown dog, an akita (Murphy)…read more Murphy has been part of my life for over 6 years and thought both he and I needed a third member of the pack. Along comes Mac, a golden retriever... Mac, as a puppy, was all over the place. Has energy for days and wanted to play...where as Murphy was over it. Who knew that bringing these two together was going to require so much time and energy. Did some research and was given Ronnie's information. She provided such patience and time with my two furry friends, but more so to me. She explained information that I would have ever known. Sadly, Murphy and Mac wont be best buds...but we all now can live together. Ronnie explained how to best maximize both pups and my personality so that there would not be any fighting or hairpulling (on my part). Thank you so much and so honored to be there 1st to post a review for you.

When the whole family met him at the adoption center Bo seemed pretty chill and go with the flow. Upon bringing Bo home he exhibited signs of aggression. I knew right away that I needed professional help for Bo. I scoured Yelp for a positive reinforcement training program since it worked with our current dog. I came across Ronnie's listing and contacted her immediately. She was very personable and knowledgeable on our phone consult. I signed Bo and I up for the 4 lesson package deal. We learned the basic commands of sit and down, as well as, leash control. In between lessons, Ronnie was always available via email if I had any questions. Bo and I have completed our lessons and I have seen a huge difference in his disposition. He went from an aggressive dog to a dog that wants to be loved on and apt to learning. Bo and I will continue with additional lessons because a whole new world has opened up for him and there is so much to see and learn.
