I had verified at three different stages of care what I was there for. I received services I did not request. Their stance was: They provide the care they feel is necessary (yearly check up) regardless of what the appt was made for. Had I been told of their policy PRIOR to service I could have/would have gone elsewhere for my simple eye refraction (measured for glasses). That's ALL I requested. A car repair cannot do unauthorized work and expect the consumer to pay for unauthorized charges.....yet MY EYES are not afforded that right. Bottom line GREAT doctors just realize you pay what they say or your sent packing to find other care.

Sure enough, the glasses I had (and the three different lenses sold to me between two different locations) couldn't improve my vision, because there's nothing wrong with my vision. Here, they're not in the business of selling designer frames and disposable contacts, and the difference is like night and day. I just wish I had come sooner. That's not all, though. Just the other morning, I noticed blood in one of my eyes. Alarmed, I called and explained what was going on. Two and a half hours after my call, I was in the doctor's chair, getting checked out. Lucky me, it wasn't a big deal. But, knowing I could call with a concern like that and be seen so quickly was really comforting. Need glasses? Get them at one of the boutiques in Milford. I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes (the Covid-19 pandemic was beginning to spread). Everything was closing, including the surgery center in Portage. I was the last patient for more than 2 months. That meant my second eye surgery was cancelled. However, I was able to contact them if I needed to and get answers to any questions during that time. Dr. Joseph Doe had done my husband's cataract surgery and he has been very happy with the results. When the surgery center reopened, I was contacted immediately for my second cataract surgery. I am now on my third day after surgery. I have been back to be checked to make sure everything is healing properly. I am THRILLED with my 20/20 vision! Only inexpensive reading glasses required! Dr. Joseph Doe is friendly, kind, and reassuring as is everyone in that office! I'm 79 years old. I have NEVER SEEN BETTER IN MY LIFE! I highly recommend these folks.
