Im not entirely sure that i would have ever gone to spotlight on my own accord because as far as i…read morewas concerned it was a shop that sold cloth and sewing gear and that is something i have no interest in. I was however dragged their to buy bedding and pillows and was actually surprised at the size of the place. If you are looking for bedding towels and like me are impartial to designs and thread count then you cant go wrong with Spotlight. As well as all this they do have a party section which is something I am definitely taking advantage of for those fun but some times annoying dress up parties. All you need is a bit of creativity and with the huge amount of party supplies that they have. Its also fairly inexpensive and will be allot cheaper than buying or hiring a costume. I would just advise that when you go with your spouse you know what you are looking for because through personal experience you can end up staying there allot longer and buying allot of things you don't really need for the house.

Day time designers, night time crafters, do-it-yourself renovators and home decorators. If you're…read moreafter inspiration and ideas, give yourself about an hour to browse through Spotlight. While I love home decorations, I admit I'm a terrible DIY renovator. I hate sandpapering surfaces, painting walls, sewing curtains, in short anything that may cause perspiration. What I do like to do is buy cushions, candles and any sort of furnishings that may transform the room without any effort on my part. This is where Spotlight comes in. They have the A-Z of home decorations from already made curtains to cute toothbrush holders. For crafters, the Mt Gravatt Spotlight has a huge selection of supplies for quilting, embroidery, jewellery making, knitting and scrapbooking. It's bigger than Lincraft and Riots Art Supplies put together. Unfortunately, this has been at the expense of their sewing section which has been dramatically downsized in the past few years. They still stock a decent range of fabrics but only the most popular silks and satins are making the cut. If you can't nip down to Spotlight without the kids and hubby, never fear. There is an awesome helium balloon counter at the back of Spotlight. Just pick their favourite balloon design, the lovely staff on duty will fill it up with helium and you can shop in peace while your kids are entertained by shiny, nylon sharks, tigers and seahorses. The bonus is that these bobbing creatures act as beacons so that you don't have to worry about losing your kid in the maze which is Spotlight.

I'm loving the new Kmart store here at level 1. It's much bigger store, bigger entrance and look…read morenicer. I don't go to kmart Toowong anymore since this one is huge and hold more stocks. Kmart is the one stop shopping experience, especially when I need something really quick. They sell everything here from clothing and shoes for all ages, makeup, home decor, some furnitures, DVDs, magazines, stationary, lots of toys, lollies and chips, kitchen stuff and basically everything you can think of. The best thing is their prices are affordable and not too bad quality for what you pay. I've notices that most of their clothing are made in Bangladesh (that's what written in the back of the cloth). I've owned couple of flat shoes from kmart, they are long lasting and more comfortable than Rubi shoes, surprisingly! On spring-summer season, kmart always bring great selection of their swimsuits and bikini collection. They are around $10-20 Love it! On Xmas period, they have lots of Xmas tree decoration including led lights in bargain price! I like to just check them out regularly to just see what they new things they have and I always end up buying something :D

This would have to be my favourite shoe shop of all times and I have told all my family, friends…read moreand the mums at school about this place as they offer up to 60% off the recommended retail prices that other stores charge - now that is 'guaranteed outlet savings' as their signs say. They stock the latest fashion shoes by brands like Therapy, Isabella Brown, Simona Ricci and Inniu - I've seen all these brands advertised in the latest girly mags such a Dolly, Shop till you drop and a few others. I have always bought good quality discounted shoes at this outlet and walked out satisfied with my purchase. I am in love with Planet Shoes and they sell them there CHEAP - last week I bought a pair of Planet sandals rrp on box was $109.95 and all I paid was $59.95 - WHAT A BARGAIN :) I also have bought Redback work boots and Julius Marlow dress shoes from there at a genuine outlet price, as well as those brands they also stock Dunlop and Raoul Merton and Wild Rhino. They have a huge range to suit just about everyone. They are located in Sumner Park with loads of parking space and I have always walked out with something. For an outlet store I have always found this store to be well presented with clear and easy to read price tags. If you are after good quality, latest fashion shoes that look great and at discounted prices, then this is where you need to go for your next pair of shoes or 5 :) the only cheap thing about these shoes is the price .

I'll be the first to admit, I came across this place purely by chance. What the hell is a Shoe…read moreRack Outlet store in Sumners Park for? It's all blue collar truckie stuff. It's not in the most glamorous of places but it is more than it appears... just. They stock brands of shoes that you might not have heard of or may not be stocked in many retail shoe shops like planet earth shoes, Simona Ricci, Catwalk... I'd never heard of these brands either... except maybe in other outlet shops. The good thing is that these shoes are quality. They aren't just made up crappy brands... the planet earth shoes are very hardy, last a long time and don't cost you a million dollars! The prices are right here in this little outlet shop, the range is okay too, with many different shoes and shoe types to choose from including boots. Stick to what you know and like and you can't go wrong, definetely try them on before buying even if you know your size. Make sure though that you check the shoe because a friend of mine got all excited and bought a pair of boots only to realise the tags were sewn on backwards, the heel's glue was exposed and several threads were actually cut off or missing... so although you can get some cheap buys here, just make sure everything works, fits and doesn't fall off.
