I normally don't like shopping for clothes. The huge pricetag usually really puts me off. As a…read moreresult, I absolutely love Primark and all it offers - decent fashions for dirt cheap prices. Yes the quality isn't amazing, but I've had plenty of Primark clothes where as long as you take care of it, it's not going to fall apart. However, although I normally do like Primark, this particularly branch only gets 3 stars from me because it's not particularly the best. If you can, head over to the Primark in Cardiff as there's a much wider selection. ~ Atmosphere: The main downer for me - this Primark is always so crowded. Because it's relatively small, just a couple of people in there makes it really hectic and not a comfortable shopping experience at all. Plus, the decor is more department store than anything else. ~ Customer Service: Standard for a Primark. The employees here aren't really fashion gurus, but they're quite efficient with the cash register and take care of long queues quickly so you're in and out. ~ Variety: Another downside. You have some general items you can find and what they have is great - there's probably plenty of stuff in here that you would want to get. However, like I said it's quite a small store so browsing is limited. If you're looking for something specific, for example, like work clothes, you might only be able to shop from a tiny section. --- Overall, I do like Primark. Great prices, good looking clothes, and quick service. However, because of this Primark's size, I'd like to avoid going here if I can. Still, if this is the only Primark within your vicinity, I'd highly recommend the visit.

Primark is a very popular high street store although I don't think very high quality, but then you…read morecan't quibble over the price. You can find mens wear, womens, children and babies, night wear, bags, shoes, homeware all at extremely good prices for what you are getting. The store I find tends to be messy, and full of hustle and bustle and I don't just mean all the people in the stores. All the clothes seem so busy, nothing in any sort of order, thrown all over the floor, the whole store basically looks cheap. I don't buy clothes for myself in there apart from vests in the summer, I tend to buy my twins tracksuit bottoms for round the house or myself some socks for these cold winter nights. The business of Primark stores are bad enough at the best of times, but when it comes to Christmas it is an absolute nightmare !!! This is a store I'd reccomend for complete bargains, but no quality. O.K so it's cheap in there, but the quality of clothing etc is terrible most of the time. For example, I bought a few winter tops for my boys to keep them warm, but they are so thin they could be used for the summer. But like I said I don't argue because of the price! This store sort of reminds me of one of them stalls you find down your local market, with your cheap 'market stall' clothing. Staff I havn't found too helpful, but then I don't think I would want to really be helpful if I was standing there watching people rush around the store like theres no tomorrow launching the stock all over the floor. I do have a mixed opinion about this store, I tend to moan about it too much really, how can you moan when tops can cost just over a £1 and they do just about what they need to do. Bags are cheap and hold what you want them to, childrens clothing keeps them warm, near enough anyway, and clothed of course at decent prices. I always say I hate seeing children in the winter not wrapped up warm etc, O.K so people are not made of money but when you have stores like Primark who sell childrens clothes so cheap it's unreal there really is no excuse! Despite the busyness, hustle and bustle and so much clutter, I will continue to go in there for my beloved socks and my boys tracky bottoms for them to muck about in, Can't reccomend them enough (lol)

I don't know why it always seemed to be one of the worst clothes shops you could shop in, and what made it worse was my nan constantly bought in there. I remember she bought me these brown dungarees they were vile! But years have gone by, times have changed and Peacocks has had a total revamp. Peacocks is a popular store now, on all our high streets. It's not a store dedicated to us ladies they cater for men and children to. You can also shop in the comfort of your own home to by shopping on their website http://www.peacocks.co.uk . You can get everything you need in Peacocks now, good quality and a decent price so it won't break the bank. Casual clothing, party clothing, smart clothing, Nightwear, shoes and slippers, socks, jewellery, belts and bags, underwear, baby clothes and junior clothing even gifts, especially at this time of years. Christmas arrives and peacocks introduce a range of gifts such as keyrings, bubble bath sets etc. They always have sale rails throughout the year, end of the line stock etc so you can always grab a bargain. Staff I have found have always been very helpful and easy to spot as they are usually dotted around their stores with the same uniform on. Most of their stores I've been into have been quite spacious and organised so easy to find exactly what you're looking for. Although I do like the store, it's not my favourite as it seems such a basic store and I'm a sucker for moaning about expensive clothing etc but I suppose in most cases you do have to pay the money to get the quality you are looking for in clothing etc. I reccomend this store mostly for clothes just for doing your housework or lounging about in or just a trip to the shops. Their partywear is lovely, and 'in' with the fashion trend most of the time, but at the same time their clothes are thinner than higher quality clothing stores, so me personally I wouldn't wear their party wear etc on nights out. But I do use their jewellery, although its only costume jewellery its a good price and always matches the outfits I do wear out on the town.

Matalan itself is pretty reasonable when it comes to prices but this place is amazingly cheap! There is a wide range of clothes here - ladies and mens clothing as well as childrens, shoes, underwear and some (not much) homeware. It's all stock from previous (and occassionally current) seasons that they now wish to get rid of. There are no changing room so my tip is to wear a vest that you can try things on over (there are mirrors) and a skirt so you can try trousers/skirts on underneath! It's pretty basic but worth the rummage and lack of changing rooms for the prices. They often have special deals on - I went recently and it was buy one get one free. I bought a really nice shirtdress and a lovely silk top which were £6 each. This came to a total of £6 for the two items - that's £3 each wow! My friends and I have come out with bags of stuff from here - it's a real pot luck but on a good day you won't believe what you can get. I love it!

This is a great space to while away the hours on a rainy day and it's the kind of magic place where you can buy loads and spend little. There are over 60 stalls here in all. Stalls include a florist, a bagel stall, cafe, fruit and veg, cards, jewellery, stall selling mobile phones accessories, fashion, baby-ware and the oldest record shop in Newport. It's got a hidden modern frontage but on the inside it's like being inside a time warp. Everything you could possibly need under one roof and big enough to give you a new shopping experience every time you come. Even though I've been here a lot I always turn down an unexpected aisle and find a new shop I've never seen before. For me the reason I used to go there was the cake stall. A tiny shop quite hidden away close to the Kingsway entrance. They sell freshly made welsh cakes, sponge cakes, bara brith, fairy cakes and fruit cake. As well as fruit pies. A fully decorated sponge cake sells for about £2.50 so for any office event they're perfect. The other great thing is that they sell off the cakes by the slice at the end of the day as nothing will keep. They're also freezable if you want to keep them for a month or so. The only drawback about this stall is it doesn't sell bread.
