I'm a massive fan of TK Maxx, so see my reviews for comparison of them against each other on a store-by-store basis! TK Maxx in Barnsley is well located in the Alhambra centre, although you do have to pay for parking. It is quite a small branch compared to some of their other stores, and it is of the older style of decor so looks a bit more dated and rather like the jomble sale that so many people compare it to. There aren't many cash desks and each has an individual queue rather than the communal queues you get in their newer stores - so if someone in front of you needs a price, you're stuck! TK MAXX is a great store if you have time on your hands. Be prepaired to search through the many rails for a good designer find. Plenty of great finds, the ideal place for gift buying. O'neil, drunken monkey,diesel clothing for men is always highly stocked. Make great birthday or christmas presents for the other half or my brother. instead of the rrp of £25 i pay just £12.50 and get two instead! Also great for beauty products. Often find elizabeth arden, clarins, Roc items. Great designer sunglasses such as roberto cavalli, D&G,valentino. Im sure the staff do their best to keep the store tidy, But things are often in the wrong place. or something missing. Just have patience when in the store read more

I have to say I really don't like TK Maxx and this branch in Barnsley is one of the worst of the lot - it's like shopping in a jumble sale struggling to find something that isn't too crumpled, looks ok, is in your size and is a decent price. To be honest with T Shirts at £15 I really don't think TK Maxx is all that cheap at all considering it's rivals Primark and Peacocks not too far away. My personal opinion of this shop that it is too hot too stuffy and too messy and not worth the hassle at all. read more
