The initial meeting went well, so on July 7, 2026, at 8:08 a.m., I called to request a quote for some additional work. An appointment was scheduled for July 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. When no one arrived, I called the office at 11:28 a.m. and was told there had been an emergency call and that no one would be coming out that day. While emergencies happen, no one contacted me to let me know that no one would be showing up. We rescheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Unfortunately, the second appointment went much the same way. At 3:11 p.m., after no one had arrived, I called the office and was told he was likely on his way from another job site. By 3:38 p.m., I called again because no one had shown up, and the office said they would check on his whereabouts. At 3:41 p.m., I received a return call informing me that he "thought it was tomorrow." At that point, I decided to move forward with another contractor. What disappointed me most wasn't that appointments had to be rescheduled or that someone was running late--it was the complete lack of communication. A phone call or text to let me know about the delay or scheduling issue would have gone a long way and would have demonstrated respect for my time. On a positive note, Verette Construction does offer a veteran discount. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean much if they can't consistently show up for scheduled appointments or communicate with their customers. I've decided to try Badger Basement Systems instead and hope the experience is more professional.

He recommended having Seamless Industries come out and check the gutters and downspouts. I don't know anything about basement waterproofing. Easy to deal with, helpful at every turn, etc. If you have to spend $20K-$40K on this painful and otherwise undesired house fix, you want it to be as friendly and professionally done as these guys do their thing. They showed up first thing in the morning when they said they would and worked tirelessly to get my wall and drain tile fixed. When the village inspector suggested a drain tile test the owner of Accurate was out in 15 minutes to asses the extra work and helped the team with the work. They had a professional air cleaner running the whole time they worked and put down drop cloths and plastic up to protect everything else. He was very professional and took time to explain the quote to me. The only problem was that I then had an independent drain tile inspector come out a few days later and tell me there was no sign whatsoever that I had a drain tile issue. He told me it was clear the water came in through the windows, and that I should repair the drainage in the window well and replace the windows for a fraction of the price. It's a good thing I knew better than to drop the $2000 down payment Accurate's salesman requested at the end of his visit, but it is too bad to think other's may fall for their sales pitch. We had previously heard that Accurate was upfront and honest in their dealings with customers, but since they have been bought out, it seems that making the sale has become priority #1.

I contacted Jon Nedeau and supplied him pictures of the property damage. He said he would reduce the total cost by $400.00. That never happened, he became completely unreachable in all forms communications and I was also left with this repair cost of $850.00 to fill in and re-seed.
