Yes, I am aware that getting a payroll advance from one of these places is a bad idea, so let me…read moreget that out of the way for starters. However, this place made it very difficult for me and their process is extremely horrible. Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe in processes to prevent fraud, but this place carries it too far and their policies are a bit excessive. I obtained a promo code from their website to get 50% off the first loan lending fees. I then drove to this location and provided all the required paperwork (recent paycheck stub from my employer of over a year, recent bank statement from my bank account that I've had for over 3 years, my driver license, and a blank check from the aforementioned bank). The agent had me fill out additional paperwork that included phone numbers from my job, etc. She then tried to verify my employment and stated that she could only call the phone number on my paycheck stub, or if they could find the number on the internet (I'm guessing because if it's on the internet, it must be true!). You would think this would be a good idea but a lot of companies use third-party payroll companies to process their payroll, as is the case with my company, and they DO NOT verify employment. Needless to say, she was unable to verify using that number. I offered many other numbers to her to verify my employment but she stated she couldn't use those (I bet they would try to use those if I didn't pay off my loan in a timely manner). Now, don't get me wrong, I understand the reason for this as anyone can lie and tell them that I work there, but in my case, I had a paycheck stub from my employer, and the amount on the stub matched the amount that was printed on my last bank statement, which is proof that I have a job at the location printed on my paycheck stub. Again, I understand their policies to an extent but if a customer provides enough information that makes it more than obvious, they should be able to provide some leniency. She stated that if she couldn't verify my employment, she would only be able to do a payday loan for $200. Now let me make sure I understand correctly; they must jump through all the hoops to verify my employment in an effort to prevent fraud, but they'll just hand over $200 of your money without verifying employment?? The person who wrote those policies must not have put a lot of thought into the process. Also, they offer a promo-code for 50% off the first loan lending fees, but what the fine print basically says is that on your due date, you will pay the entire amount, and within 30 days, they will mail you a rebate check for the 50%. I'm sorry, but if I am in a financial bind to the point that I have to get a payroll advance, then I am certainly in no position to let this company hold on to my money for up to 30 days. Their policies just do not make good sense to me, so I told them to shred all of my personal information and I went to their competitor next door where I had a payroll advance within 20 minutes. I definitely got a better experience.
