In the past year I have had the guys (Collin, Gary, and Richard) work on 5 different bikes ranging from bike assembly and service to packing and shipping. They worked on everything from my early 1990s Bianchi Eros to my Argon 18 to my 2020 Lynsey GR pro. I often just drop by to have a chat with them about their thoughts on bicycles and triathlons. Beyond bikes my wife and I have gotten several pairs of running shoes (great selection and often sales up to 50% off) where Gary has talked us through what we should be looking for in comfort and fit. There are styles with touches of lace, quite a bit with push-ups, and a variety of colors that can make you feel beautiful. I've bought items online and have made returns with some ease. They don't allow returns on washed items and I've had one person get snippy at me for folding the bras in half in the return bag. It messes up the structure of the bra so she said. It kept me so warm and toasty in the brutal upper Midwest winters. I discovered the Marmot brand here in the 1990s. Back in the 1990s, Patagonia was not considered as "technical" and as bougie as Marmot and The North Face. Arcteryx either didn't exist or was an obscure brand almost thirty years ago. Now, Patagonia and Arcteryx are off-the-charts insanely priced. Marmot and The North Face are considered "value" brands. In any case, I still buy Marmot; it's better quality and far better value than Patagonia because: 1. Higher down fill power and 2. Higher down fill weight I recently bought a 700-fill down parka from Marmot with 220 grams of down for far less money than a 600-fill down parka with 150 grams of down from Patagonia. I was cold in the Patagonia parka, and it was horribly expensive. I had to return. I also bought coats from Eddie Bauer and from L.L. Bean. Nowhere nearly as warm as Marmot. The Marmot down parka that I recently bought is called the Montreaux Coat, and I've yet to find a warmer coat at such a great price point. It hits my knee, although it's supposed to hit my calf, so that's a bit misleading on their website. It's closer to parka length than coat length. I like that when the zipper broke after almost twenty years of owning my first Marmot down jacket, I called Marmot's Customer Service, they sent me a shipping label, and they said that they would gladly repair the zipper for me, for free. When they couldn't repair the zipper, they just sent me a new Marmot down jacket. So, I wore that complimentary replacement jacket for another ten years before finally buying the Montreaux coat this year almost thirty years after buying my first Marmot down jacket from Fontana Sports.

The quality has been consistently excellent, and the customer service has never given me a single reason to look elsewhere. Most recently, I bought winter coats for two of my grown kids. They both make their own money, yet somehow always end up wearing coats that barely survive the season. Lands' End had great deals, so I let them pick exactly what they wanted and now I know they'll be warm and dry all winter long. As always: zero issues. Period. I always enjoy looking around HomeGoods and usually buy things I'm not there for. It can get overwhelming with the amount of stuff they have, especially when it's crowded. I recommend going during the weekday or odd hours. After shopping in HomeGoods it's nice to walk right into TJ Maxx. They have super cute clothes, it's always fun to check out the clearance section. I always look at the soap/lotion section as well. They usually have a great selection.
