This last time however, was what truly showed me how right my decision was. My fence is near a busy sidewalk and some genius decided they wanted to punch a hole in my Fence as they walked by. He was also not transparent about disposal fees until he was already on site and there wasn't much we could do about it. Not only did he lack transparency, but his overall professionalism was lacking. We had to ask, multiple times for an invoice for our records. The invoice terms stated Net 30 but he began harassing us to pay the invoice via text and email within hours of sending the invoice.

She did her due diligence and had received quotes for a fence. She told me Donahue was the cheapest. I called Donahue Fence and left a message. I knew this was a busy time of year for contractor, people were trying to put in fences before the ground freezes. It took Donahue a while to get back to me, but my patience was rewarded. He came out gave me a quote and about three weeks later my fence was put in. I put in a white vinyl fence. Donahue was great to work with and so were his workers. I would give Donahue a five but it took a while for him to get back to me. He was cheaper than the other contractor. That is why I waited for him. He has been doing business for over 40 years and you can tell. I wasn't even concerned about the ascetic, my biggest concern was keeping my dog it. But a lot of neighbors have stopped and told me how great the fence look. Also, the red color on my house doesn't look so over whelming, so I don't feel like I have to change the color right now. I would definite use them again.

When I called and expressed my frustration that we would have appreciated a heads up they said "that's just how we do things". After the job was completed we didn't get a call to follow up to make sure everything was as discussed, and we had to wait for our invoice to arrive by mail to pay it. This company needs to improve their customer service so clients don't feel left in the dark.

In late October I they just showed up, with no notice, to do the repair. My dogs were going to be out that day and my neighbor notified me that they were working on the fence (I was at work). I wrote an email to voice my concern- no response. I sent a letter (with the balance due) to voice my concern again-no response. But check was cashed. Horrible experience, very disappointed. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of what I expected from a professional company. From the start, my interactions with their Sales/Quote representative, Glenn, were frustrating and unprofessional. He struggled to hold a clear conversation about product specifications and talked over me when I tried to ask questions. When I held him accountable to the original options he had presented, he even suggested I should just go with another fence company. On two separate occasions, Glenn promised to deliver a detailed quote within 24 hours. Both times, GMH didn't deliver. They did provide an excuse by saying they were waiting on me to provide quote options for vinyl but that is not true. Glenn stated "I just bought a trailer of aluminum and had to see what the freight was" before the quote and now I understand they were trying to push me a different product than originally provided. Over all I waited over a week to receive anything. When I finally got the quote and began asking detailed questions about the aluminum fence I wanted to order, the experience went downhill quickly. Glenn seemed unable or unwilling to answer my legitimate questions and started pushing a completely different product than what was originally discussed. After reaching out to GMH with my feedback, the company showed little concern. Instead of addressing the issues, they sent me a revised quote that was nearly double the original price, claiming the fence option I wanted had been discontinued. This was a clear case of over-promising and under-delivering. Before doing business with GMH, I strongly recommend that future customers: * Carefully validate the exact product specifications and options immediately available * Ensure everything discussed (including brochure details option) is clearly listed on the written quote * Get all promises in writing I truly wanted to work with GMH and had high hopes based on their initial presentation, but the entire process--from quoting to follow-up--was filled with unnecessary frustration and inconsistency. I hope this review helps my neighbors in East Longmeadow avoid a similar experience.
