Took our car in to get a new alternator. The car came back with the ac compressor not working and…read morea terrible rattle coming from the front end. I looked under the car and all of the push rivets holding in the right front fender liner were missing. Looked up how to change an alternator in a 2014 Pathfinder and sure enough you have to remove the right front tire to get to it. The liner under the front bumper was also missing all the rivets. Barely holding it up in place so it drug on the ground and ruined it. Also the right front tire has a new bulge in the sidewall. Not sure how that could have happened. We took it back in and they checked out the compressor and said it was getting power but was not turning on so it needed replaced. I can understand that MAYBE the compressor happened to go out right when we brought it in for the alternator but everything else is just sloppy workmanship.

Seems on par with other Firestones. To the reviewer complaining about diagnostics, a computer check often does run that much-- the diagnostic equipment runs 10-25k to purchase and around 1000+ a year to keep up to date. Add trained personnel to use it and actually diagnose your car and the time spent, you can see why it costs money. I've never heard of a doctor giving a free 'diagnosis' and don't know why anyone expects mechanics to do the same. The computer code is only the first step to identifying the fault. Lazy mechanics just keep fixing parts until the code goes away AND you pay for each and every repair, necessary or not.

Also, the wrong brakes had been installed previously on my car (not by Firestone), resulting in my car shaking a lot when I was braking. They were very upfront with me, and understanding when I felt that the price was steep. They showed me the issues while my car was on a lift, and also pointed me in the direction of coupons to help with costs. Everyone I had the pleasure of talking to was extremely friendly and helpful.
