Had brake service previously in 2024 and could not have asked for better service. Brought same vehicle back 2 years later for a scraping noise. They recommended doing all 4 brake rotors and pads. After the job was completed we got the car back with numerous ABS warnings and other warning lights that were not on when we brought the car in. They tried to say it came in with the warning lights but that was a pure lie and unacceptable and people should be forewarned. I suspect the calipers were dropped or allowed to hang from the abs wiring which everyone knows is a no no. This is a complete failure by this shop. Now the car is essentially disabled far from home. We were told there is nothing further they can do and to take it to a Toyota shop. The shop has changed ownership and I cannot recommend this shop in the strongest of terms any more. I was told by the manager that they would refund the cost of Toyota resetting the computer and clearing the codes. I will update the review if they stand by their word but at this time the fact is I brought in an operating vehicle and was left with a disabled vehicle and 1000 dollar fee. Beyond disappointing. Be careful. I only wish I could carelessly work on one of their cars when they are on a trip. read more

Traveling and needed speciality tires for a fifth wheel motor home and Bear Co Tire came in clutch helping us! They were nice and personable and very professional. Ordered the tires over the phone Tuesday 6/20 and 6/21 they got us in and done within an hour. Great place, would definitely recommend, as out of towners, for future travelers. Had to get a quick tire rotation, at the end of the day - naturally, right? So we called Bear Co Tire Shop, randomly, and were told they could fit us in, today. Not only did they get us in, but practically immediately, and the cost was very reasonable. So, we took a seat, expecting to have to wait the normal 45 minutes to an hour, since there were plenty of other people waiting in the lobby for their cars to be done. However, low and behold we were told our truck was ready within about 7 minutes of pulling it into the bay. I was stunned! They are professional, accommodating, friendly, know what they' re doing, and very speedy! Highly recommend this place for your tire service needs. Thank you for being so awesome Bear Co Tire Shop! Well who really wants to end up at a car repair shop while on a cross country road trip? It's not really that painful if you end up in gorgeous Cody Wyoming at Bear Co! Our trip was delayed 2 days because we arrived here on Saturday evening and shops are closed on Sunday. (It is God's country after all!) we arrived at Bear Co at 7:30 am on Monday morning and they took care of us right away! Tire rods,tires and an alignment. Awesome staff, customary shop dog in the back, and funny signs on the walls with cool local memorabilia. We could not be more impressed with Bear Co Tires! We ended up with a bent rim while in Yellowstone. No one in the area had that type of rim or tire in stock so it would be a big set back in our trip to get it ordered. These guys are awesome! Family owned business. They were open until 6! I came out of Yellowstone with a near flat and they patched my tire in minutes. They were extremely reasonably priced and were very pleasant. They had all kinds of antique tools and farm equipment hanging to keep me occupied while I waited the ten minutes. Took my lifted truck into Bear Co. partially due to the high ratings that others have given them. What a MISTAKE! Got an inexperienced guy who created more issues than he took care of. My tire was rubbing the mud flap before I ever got out of the parking lot, and it had never done that before. I immediately stopped and went in and brought it to their attention. They ONLY thing that they knew was to say well that was the settings.... The next day I took it to the shop I should have taken it to at the beginning and it took about 4 hours to correct Bear Co.'s alignment. The castor was so far out it wasn't funny. The young man evidently put the factors settings in on a truck that has been lifted with slightly larger tires...big mistake. Don't waste your money or your time and take your vehicle here for an alignment. read more

These guys misdiagnosed my problem and fixed the wrong thing for $900. Their folks at the front desk are ok, but their mechanics should not be allowed to be in contact with the public. I took my VW there in 2010 because I had trouble getting the manual trans into gear.... after half a day they called me back and told me to come down. I went, thinking my car was fixed. Instead, when I walked into the door the guy behind the desk opened the door to the shop and told one of the tech's to come out, then asked if he found out what was wrong with my car. The tech, with red eyes and a very unkempt appearance said "oh.. I didn't figure out what was wrong with it bro.. we're gonna have to open the tranny" So the guy behind the counter looked at me and informed me it would be $500 in labor alone to take the transmission out and open it... and that wouldn't include the cost of repair. So I took my car and left. Went down the road to another shop to find out a half hour later that the problem was a broken piece of linkage right on top of the trans, in plain view. Total cost of repair, $30 for the part and $40 for a half hour of shop labor. I wouldn't trust Bear Co with anything but flat repair. read more

We are in the middle of a vacation to Yellowstone and Montana and are caravanning with our son, his wife and their three small children. On the drive from Buffalo, Wyoming to Yellow stone, the brakes of my son's van were smoking coming down the mountains and the car was shimmying. We made it to Cody and left the car with Bear Co. We told them what was happening and he needed new pads. We went off to eat and they said the car would be ready within two hours. I went back to pick it up, they said the pads were fine but noticed the shimmy. They turned the rotors and all was well. They had ample opportunity to do exactly what we asked and charge us much more than they did, however, they checked things for themselves and only performed the necessary work. It is refreshing to find companies like this. Oftentimes, mechanics and auto repair shops are given bad raps. Companies like BEar co are the good guys. read more
