I brought my car in to have two tires fixed. One would be fixed with an "upcharge" because it had been patched previously. The kid working the front desk said that my tires were too bald to be patched and then asked if I wanted to buy new tires. My car is barely a year old and has less than 20,000 miles on it. So I took my car to Big O down the road. They showed me how to measure the tires correctly and fixed them super fast. read more

I recently took my vehicle here to be diagnosed and serviced. The customer service was absolutely horrible. The owner at the front desk is one of the most unprofessional people I've ever met in Lake County and I have lived here my entire life. I'm a marine veteran and my grandmother was the mayor of Clearlake. I love my community and I am proud to serve. The only reason I even went here even though I was absolutely warned was because every other place was booked up for about a week. They had my car for three days when they initially told me it would take them one day to replace a SERPENTINE BELT. Not only that, but another frequent customer told me after I dropped my car off they said unpleasant things about me, using my first name loud and clear. I told them I no longer felt comfortable with them working on my car and the owner quickly changed the subject and had nothing to say. Very dishonest, very inappropriate, and unprofessional. They argued with me after calling and telling me beforehand that they might break a part while working on it that it was never them that broke it. Then they also deliberately refused to diagnose the vehicles error codes. They said there were too many codes even after I said money was not at all an issue. I told them my frustrations, they fixed the belt and told me there's a much bigger problem with the timing chain and refused to properly diagnose it. I practically told them myself as a none certified mechanic what I thought the diagnosis is, only for them to just fix that. The serpentine belt. I repeatedly asked them to please tell me what is the most immediate and possibly hazardous or dangerous issues with the car and the owner just continued to raise his voice, cut me off, and say he would gladly charge me per each code if that was what I wanted. They are a joke and I will gladly be taking my business to a shop like Big O Tires. read more

I came in this morning for my battery saying 13%. I just wanted a battery. The guy said that I had to have the alternator checked or the battery would not have a warranty. They put in the cheapest battery!!!! They wired me $350 and I ended up paying $450!! These people are horrible and they ripped me off!! I will never go there again. I will also call the BBB because they are shitty people. The manager is a horrible man, he totally took advantage of a stranded female. Horrible! read more

I drove 2 hours to get to Clearlake and as I was pulling on to my street my tpms sensor came on stating my front tire was low before I got home my tire had reached.9 PSI. Boy was I lucky to be where I was when that happened, So I called around the next day on a the holiday weekend and no one had the custom tires to match the rear tires I needed in stock. Scott jumped into action and was able to acquire 2 tires to match the Michelin pilot sports very quickly and scheduled me in for the next afternoon. His guys were professional and helpful. Took my car to get an alignment, balance & rotation. I was feeling light shaking so that's why I took it in. After my appt that costed me $180, anytime I exceed over 60mph my car shakes BAD. My whole arm will shake now. Took my car over to Alvarez tire, and come to find out my tires were not balanced correctly, 10000% off and they told me I need new tires because mine are cupping, ALSO turns out I do not and they are not. They promised a free oil change and the next 3 be at a half discount after buying a $40 "neighborhood special" and once I got there they charged me $26 after stating that they do charge for synthetic oil and I wasn't aware of that. And now after expecting my next three oil changes to be $25, they will now be $55. They also took an hour for a basic oil change when you can go to Express Lube and oil in Lakeport where they only charge $50 in total for synthetic and take 15 minutes to get it done. read more

I drove to Clearlake for moving supplies but the place didn't carry any moving supplies. Lol. I asked for a recommendation for oil change and was referred here to Tire Pros. I figure if locals recommend a place it must be good. I had oil changed and also the declogging treatment they recommended plus the other things they included. Around a hundred bucks for a little peace of mind. They came out and said my transmission fluid was dirty. So we decided best to have it serviced as I try to take care of my vehicle. It was a little pricey but if you look online you can buy a $50 voucher for $75 services. So it was like $150 instead of $175. Great service and helpful staff. I almost forgot. They rotated my tires at no charge. Lots of places vacuum the inside and wash the windows inside but they did neither. Would be a nice touch. read more

I'll admit it, in my mid 60s I still consider myself a Motor head, a real dyed in the wool car enthusiast. I like to drive, and I like the feel of a well-tuned V8 under full throttle. If you ask any aging Motor head what they value most the answer is always a top repair shop staffed with mechanics who can fix your ride right, the first time every time. And that's where Tire Pros of Clearlake really shines. I've lived in northern California on and off since 1969 and for many years I would compute between here and my work in Los Angeles three times per week. During those years I put a lot of miles on a lot of cars and really learned that having mechanics you can trust is priceless. Since retiring here in Clearlake three years ago I had been looking for a local shop that could do kind of quality work I demand. With Tire Pros of Clearlake I have found the right team. Over the years I have owned a number of vintage Mustangs, Studebaker Hawks and Avantis, and a host of other muscle cars but now I am down to a 4.0 Northstar powered Aurora and a Chrysler Pacifica. My V8 powered Aurora is a difficult car to work on. The GM Northstar engine is without doubt one of the most complicated 32 valve V8s ever produced. It takes nothing less than a Master Mechanic to touch this power plant, and Tire Pros comes through with flying colors. My Chrysler Pacifica is a basically an underpowered, overweight crossover SUV, but Tire Pros has its six cylinder power plant humming like a V8, their transmission service allowed me to get the most out of the 4 Speed AWD, and their tire service makes this marginal vehicle feel sure footed under all driving conditions. So I can say with complete assurance, based on my personal experience with Tire Pros, that weather you are driving a V8 touring car at well over 100 MPH (did I admit that??) or taking the family SUV out shopping, when you get to that inevitable point where work needs to be done, the local guys do it best. Tire Pros of Clearlake combines really great pricing with an experienced, professional, courteous staff that always makes you feel like your job is the only one they are working on. Recently went to a mcleas in Santa Rosa and asked about tires for my wrangler; I wanted the bfg mud terrain but the guys gave me a dumbfounded look when I showed him a pic of the tire with the price, then he said that bfg doesn't make that tire anymore and they wouldn't be able to get it. Flash forward to Steve at Tire pros. And he didn't hesitate to find the tires and offer a good rate for installation of 4 of em. But what really made me happy was the customer service. I have got 2 sets of tires from these guys and prices & service was always great. When I walk through the door I get service in under 5 minutes, I've also never observed anyone else waiting for too long before being served. In addition to tire installation these guys will do a free air pressure check on all tires purchased there. The other day I had one tire running low, I got there just in time as the tire was deflating. I had my tire checked & fixed in under 45 minutes. What more they didn't charge me a dime for the repair. I was just visiting Clear Lake for a fishing tournament. Upon launching the boat I realized my bearings were toast and the wheel was about to fall off. Got all my tires replaced here. Every single one has popped in the last 6 months. Usually I would blame it on the roads here, but today is the last straw. I am currently stranded in a bad area. I am a 29 year old female. My tire was flat as soon as I came out to my car from the appointment I went to 5 blocks away. I'm done I will never go back there. Thank you Tire pros for causing me the most unsafe tire experience in my entire life. Never had my tired pop this many times. So tired of being stranded in unsafe areas because of their bad workmanship. Please don't risk your families safety. Don't get your car repaired here. read more
