I hate getting flats while not near home. I was alone and not about to do it myself, but I was lucky, I saw a Big O Tires near where I was. I had not used them before, but I was desperate. They were so nice. I had picked up a nail. They did not need to replace my tire nor did they try to convince me to do anything I did not need done. They simply fixed my tire. The price was super reasonable. Now it did take a minute because I was without a reservation and they had other customers, but the staff was so nice I did not care. They had a nice waiting area and that place, for a tire shop is clean. I was very happy. I am now a fan of Big O Tires. read more

I brought my car to another local tire place to have a screw removed and was told my tires were "too bald" to be patched, then tried to sell me new tires. My car is barely a year old and has less than 20,000 miles, so I brought it here for a second opinion. They showed me how they measure tires and that my tires still have a good amount of tread. They fixed it within an hour, even though I didn't have an appointment. They were very helpful! read more

Big O Tires - Tire with slow leak - Auto Repair Near Me - Clearlake, California

Having recently moved to Clearlake, Ca. and in need of service for my vehicle, I turned to Big O, they did a good job and apparently my warranty is still in tack. My other half however took her vehicle for an oil change, which they did, but afterwards told her that the tire alignment was out and that the tires were "in the red" and needed to be changed. Being suspicious as I wasn't there (just her), we went for a second opinion at a different tire shop. They were very nice and told us her tires were fine but still had a lot of miles to go and that the alignment and tire wear was normal for the miles on her vehicle. My experience was good, but disappointment that they tried to talk her into a whole new set of tires by telling her that the tires were in the "Red Zone", which scared her. Fortunately, getting a second opinion and from my experience with tires (being a former truck driver of 28 years), I know what to look for, but for her satisfaction, we went for a second opinion. I know from other visits to other "Big O" dealers in other counties, they are reliable, but if visiting the one in Clearlake, Ca. I would suggest a male go there with some knowledge (not trying to be sexist), but they seem to think they can fool a woman over a male. Needless to say, we won't be going back there. read more

Johnny, Denise and team saved us after Walmart left us in the lurch! Now I understand why Walmart auto went downhill. Cause Johnny moved over here, and the good techs followed him! Anyway, we needed a tire repair on a Saturday 3pm afternoon. Walmart was supposed to be open till 5, so we went there first. Two 20 year old kids were sweeping, closing up shop 2 hours early. First they tried to tell us that our sprinter van camper was too heavy for their jacks (??), then that they didn't have time (All of their bays were completely empty), then that they weren't sure how to do a simple tire repair (as techs at a tire repair shop). That's when Big O saved us. Even though they really were just about to closing time, but they did a clean kind thorough job! My first experience was great, but this time I went For front tires, after leaving my low tire warning light was on, I brought it back a couple days later, the guy checked it out for 15 minutes just to come back and say the battery in the sensor was probably dead. Yeah it just went dead the minute I take my car back. They damaged the sensor or battery and won't admit. I will go to tire pros next time, they can't be any worse? I'll be honest; I unexpectedly needed a new battery on Saturday morning and I would usually go to Tire Pros in Clearlake for this work. I called Tire Pros about a half hour before their scheduled opening time and was told it just wasn't possible to get me in. That's OK, I understand the pressures of a short Saturday staff vs outsize weekend demand for services, but this was my wife's birthday and I need the car fixed n-o-w! So I called Big O and was told I could come right in. When I arrived the office staff was fast and professional. My battery was in stock and I was out the door thirty minutes later with a new battery. I don't blame Tire Pros for not being able to accommodate a regular customer on a busy day, that's life and I understand. But because of Big O saving the day for me today I will be buying my next set of tires there in about three months. Based upon my experience I would recommend the Clearlake Big O shop to anyone needing basic automotive work or that new set of tires that always seems to be coming up. You can't make appointments for a wheel alignment. First come first serve only. I was in yesterday with a nail in the tire and it took over 1 hour. They shut down for lunch between 12 and 12:30 and almost shut down leaving my animal in the back of the car. They refused to take the nail out and plug the tire because I had some wear on the inside. Needless to say they aren't getting anymore business from me. read more

Went here to get a pin nail removed and the tire patched. Paid 17$ and I thought we were good. The owner or manager was very nice, she seemed like she knew what she was doing so we were confident in the repair and planned on returning to buy new tires. This is until a week later the same tire went flat. We took it back and told them and they said "sometimes the patches fail". They again said they "fixed" it, that they could not find any leaks and sent us on our way. We assumed all was good. Jump forward another week and the same damn tire is flat. My girlfriend was stranded in Ukiah so I told her to go to Les Schuab. They brought the car in, came out and told her there was never a patch installed. They could see nothing, no plug and no patch. They actually patched it and said that place was shady for what they did. So not only did this place lie the first time about doing work on our tire, THEY AGAIN lied to us on the second trip saying the patch was holding up. THERE WAS NEVER A PATCH. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. Do yourself a favor. If you have a flat or need new tires go elsewhere. I recommend Les Schuab in Ukiah if you're over that way. They helped us and didnt even charge us for Big O Tires scam. read more

I called and needed 4 tires but I could only afford 2 this pay week. I was going to get the other 2 next week. When I arrived and the gentleman and I went to look at my tires. (I'll be honest..I know very little about cars.) After we looked at my tires, the gentleman told me.." The only bad tire is on the front driver's side" but my back tire had a slow leak, he said because of the dent in my rim, they pounded out for me. I am grateful for this gentleman's honesty most places would have sold me something I didn't need. To me Honesty is the best and I will do all my Jetta VW maintenance with these guys. Excellent service!! I brought my vehicle to Big O for an alignment after installing a lift kit and changing out the suspension components. Getting an appointment was easy and quick compared to a lot of other places. I had to change my appointment due to unforeseen issues and they accommodated me with no problems. Anyhow, I chose this location because I have done business there before and other locations were not up to par, one of which cross threaded my steering stabilizer bracket bolts. I bought another bracket after that to have for my future alignment (this visit). The bracket issue added to the alignment process, but it was all done flawlessly. I waited inside and chatted with the owner, who was super nice. I'll definitely be coming back for future needs. read more

Absolutely horrible service. Past the girls upfront that were definitely the best in the business. The techs are beyond garbage. I came in to get my lower ball joints and Pitman arm replaced and was told because my steering box was too loose that they couldn't do the Pitman arm. The steering box has nothing to do with the alignment that I needed done. I had them do the lowers and the Pitman arm and was told they only did the lowers and couldn't even do the alignment until I got the steering box for the Pitman arm which is absolutely pointless. Don't waste your money at this place. The techs need more schooling. read more

Found Big-O tires on our drive down Lakeshore Avenue. We popped in, were immediately greeted and helped by Brett E, who gave us a quick print-out quote for 4 tires for our 2001 Toyota Echo, and we had them installed on the spot! Their waiting room is clean, we got ice cold water while waiting for the install, and were out within a half hour! They get 5 stars all around for this experience - and we found a sweet surprise from the owner waiting for us in the car!! I had just moved to Clearlake and needed my car serviced and checked. I went to Big O tires in Clearlake, and I am glad that I did. As a retired RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist, I was extremely impressed with their Covid 19 precautions. Social distancing, masks, hand sanitizer were all in use. I dropped off the car for a complete going over. An employee gave me a ride home. Later that afternoon Denise called me and told me my car was ready. Once again an employee came and picked me up. Fantastic customer service! My car was squeaking in reverse so I needed to get my brakes checked, and THEY HAVE FREE BRAKE CHECKS! and alignment checks. I didn't have to pay anything, and Denise was super helpful explaining it all to me in terms I could understand. Denise was also super friendly and accommodating. Both Denise and Justin are great. After receiving a seemingly ridiculous estimate for my car's repairs, I decided to call around and was immediately guided toward Big O via Yelp. Luckily for me there was a location in Clearlake, where I am currently residing. They suggested bringing the car in to acquire an accurate estimate. Take note, repair shops, this is how you get customers. Long story short: After dropping my car off early in the morning, Denise, owner of the shop, called me and thoroughly discussed with me the details of the repairs. And she saved me a lot of money not going back to the original service center. I had a good feeling before contacting them, during the repair process, and after retrieving my vehicle. Got there at 7:45 am. second in line, waited a hour fifteen (1:15) minutes and still the truck had not moved. Mean while numerous other customers came in after me and were being helped before me????? My wife and I were traveling to Ft. Bragg on vacation and got a nail in our tire. I asked where to go and the lady at a local gas station told us to go to either Wal-Mart or there was another tire shop. We ended up turning down a street and ended up at BIG-O Tires. It was 4:45 on a Friday.....almost beer thirty. The gentleman said that he'd squeeze us in but did tell me they were closing. Ended up having great conversation with a lady (ended up being the owner) and getting the BEST service ever at a tire shop. They not only repaired our tire but left a carnation on the dash. This is what service is all about! You took a bad situation and made it something we still talk about. We are business owners ourselves and took it back as a lesson to not only our employees but ourselves. Thanks again for the excellent service! I've had several occasions to repair or replace tires, and another time requested an analysis that turned out to need no work. I always have found the managers and owner to be completely professional, friendly and forth-coming up front about the nature of work needed, projected cost and time. The wait area is clean and air conditioned with plenty of comfortable seats, reading material and coffee. My wait time never felt extended, and explanation of the work was always thorough. The fact that I now have AAA coverage means I feel even more comfortable calling them first for a tow, if needed. My Go To auto service shop in Lake County! read more

The staff is generally good. The owner Denise is generally rude. The repairs are generally done twice because the first time the parts fail. Sometimes they will not admit the parts were bad and provide some non intelligent excuse for the car being still broken or half fixed due to bad parts. The owner repeatedly talks jibbrish about auto repair as if we are idiots. I would look for a good repair shop unless just need tires, which can get on the Internet at half the price. I give them a "1". I would give staff a 3 for being affable. The parts and owner don't deserve a "1". read more

Went here to have custom rims installed and they did just that. When i drove it home i had speed wobbling that i never had before. Ive had many rims installed and yhe excuse they gave me was that i had to request a certain weight for the inside of my rim. Every other shop ive had rims installed had used the weights on the rim right off the start. Now inam another 80$ down. I took it to walmart to have them balance them and they charge 54$ and used the bead weights at the same cost for the install. Never going to big o in clearlake again. This is the last time they get me in. And after going tonthese guys for over 15 yrs. read more

I have been buying my tires at this shop for the last 4 years, and my early experience was really good. In the last two years, customer service has deteriorated to the point that I will come back no longer. A year ago I went to fix a flat, and waiting for 45 minutes my keys were returned and my car was "supposedly" fix. But I realized it was not when I tried to drive out of the parking lot with the flat. Ooops! About 9 months later, I got to the store 30 minutes before closing time with another flat, and I was told by Brad that the only thing they could do for me was to offer me air. Oooooookay! Today I came back to replace 4 tires. One of my tires blew and I was driving with the "doughnut". Brad wanted to sell me 4 tires for $700 + (for 4 years I had been paying between $300 - $400 for 4 tires) or he could not help me. The only thing that he did not say after he dismissed me is "Next in line!" No worries: I will not inconvenience Brad anymore by bringing my car, or any of my ranch trucks to this shop.
