I chose a nice plum color and when they were finished I was happy with the way the looked and there were no mess ups, so for $25 I left a tip and went about my day. Here we are a week later and all of my nails have turned this yellowish color (Weird I know). So I went back to the same location to ask them about it and see if they'd change the polish as it does not look attractive. At first the lady said she didn't see what I was talking about so she put my hand under a light. She then asked me what I did to them! I'm sorry but what did I do?? She then proceeded to tell me that she'll redo them in the same color for free but to change the color she was going to charge me $18! So you mean to tell me I can pick the same color that I'm showing you is bad and you'll do them for free? But can't own up to a bad product and also do them for free? What kind of customer service is that! I've never seen anything like this before so either the color/product is bad or y'all did nails on a person with fungus on they're nails and continued to use the same polish after. NEVER will I do business with them again. This is disgusting!

Everyone spoke Spanish, and we don't, but it wasn't a problem at all--they used iPhone translators, and communication went smoothly. The salon was clean, beautiful, and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We were especially lucky that they were able to accommodate two walk-ins without appointments. Our nail technicians, Jessica and Aurora, took their time and were incredibly thorough. They did such a meticulous job cleaning and prepping our nails that our hands looked almost perfect afterward. Payment is through Zelle, and the price was very reasonable coming from the DC area (though it may be on the higher end for the local area). The quality of the work definitely made it worth it. After we left, I found their Instagram page and realized how lucky we were--not only to get in as two walk-ins, but also because their work is clearly in high demand. We're so happy with the results and would absolutely recommend this salon if you're in the Tampa area.

Asked to wait a few minutes, I sat down to find there was free WiFi on offer as well, which is always a welcome perk anywhere. Especially when my Irish mobile contract didn't work in US. I brought my own varnish, which was no problem and we got started. Some polite chit chat, but the rest of the time I happily watched a food channel that was on. The drying table they had was a new one on me, but it's probably standard in the US. It's a square unit that dries either hands or feet of up to four people. I left with fabulous nails which looked really well and lasted really well also. At 15 USD, it was great value too. Recommended.

Yes, I said twenty years ago. Tonya is truly a master at her craft. She takes pride in every set of nails she does. I say that with some experience I have had my nails done in every state up and down the Eastern Sea Board. Plus as soon as you walk in the salon you automatically become friends with Tanya and Sharon and you feel as comfortable about being there as you would sitting and having coffee with your best friend. Sharon is Tanya's cohort in crime she is accused of doing the best mani pedi's a girl could ask for. If you are frustrated with your nail tech do not hesitate to call Sharon and Tanya. After Tanya's does your nails one time you will be as convinced as I am twenty years later.

First of all, this place is in new ownership and no longer called Maxim. VENUS is it's new name. The owner Christina is a total doll! The reviews were all targeted at the old owner who sounds awful! Christina did a beautiful job on my nails, and her other nail tech did a beautiful job on my girlfriend. I think it would be a Yelp injustice to not write this review and let others know that this little gem is worth the visit
