This thing was nestled among murals and gussied up with signs and plants, chairs, rugs and tables. It was topped with a giant masked mermaid with blue hair. Of course my kids had to check it out. Womp, womp. Such a cool display to promote something as unkid friendly as wine. Surely my kids would walk away that day jilted. Not so fast. Wine on Wheels does lots of beverages. It just so happens that on this fine Saturday hot chocolate was on the menu *insert cheers here*. The owner of the stand, Melody Maria, really knew how to serve customers. She talked to my two kids about their day, what they were doing in the area and the decorations. When my son realized he didn't like hot chocolate (this was his first time) she gave him extra whipped cream (which he liked) and a free bottle of water. My daughter and wife both loved their chocolatey drinks. They were rich, smooth, adorned with peppermint and topped with whipped cream. She asked about lids and straws, and basically served up an amazing experience. That's what Melody and Wine on Wheels is all about. The whole purpose of her business is to travel to customers and make their shindigs/parties/weddings/tailgates/corporate events special and memorable. I can say with 100 percent certainty, she made that random Saturday in November, a special experience for my kids (and wife). They would definitely return to Wine on Wheels again.

I have had two experience in the past with this catering company. I decided to go with them expecting the same experience but this was not the case at the end. My husband, fiancé at the time, and I went to the testing, Jennifer took care of us and we expressed our menu was going to be pork-free and it was reflected in our options, chicken and steak. About a month before the wedding they changed the contact person as Jennifer left the company. This cause a great deal of stress in me due to the fact that when I spoke with Maria she seemed that she did not have a clue if what I was talking about, regarding all the menu and specifics, I had already discuss with Jennifer and changed completely the quote adding a good $800 extra to quote. Come wedding day, first, I had nice matching silverware and the team decided to put the metal silverware next to the silver wear. Here the common sense was not used. This clashed with the decor. I remember mentioning to put the silverware next to the food so if people wanted to use those instead of the ones in the table they had the choice. Secondly, the caesar salad had bacon on it and it was pre-made. Once again, I was very explicit about not wanting pork in the menu. Half of my family ended not been able to eat the salad and I found this so annoying as I paid almost $2,400 for the services. Third, the head server approach me at some point of the wedding to ask me about the services and I told her how I was feeling and told her 'not great'. To this day NOBODY from this company has reached out to me for feedback. Needless to say they won't have my business nor recommendation in the future. Lastly, keep in mind it has been almost a full year of my wedding and I still feel strongly about it all.

They catered our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner 1 week after Hurricane Ian. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. Their staff members, Ice (lead server) and Dunia (2nd server) were absolutely awesome! They showed up on time coming to Venice, Fl from Tampa during very heavy "Ian" recovery traffic. Not only did they impress us with arriving with ample time to set up before guests arrived, they were very personable, happy, enjoyable and extremely efficient in serving and clean up. The food by Affordable Catering was absolutely amazing. The 62+ guests we had were thrilled with the food and service. Everything tasted so delicious, in particular, the Maui Chicken was a HUGE success. We received nothing but raves about the food. Thank you "Affordable Catering" for making our first experience an excellent experience. Marie Bentancourt, my sales associate, was also key in making our event a success as well. She worked very hard at satisfying my needs. She was very conscious of my concerns and had perfect suggestions to satisfy my specific needs. Thank you once again Affordable Catering. I recently worked a shift through a staffing agency to work a Christmas party on behalf of this company, There are many things I could add to this such as how food is handled, how sanitary the operation is etc, but I will focus on the treatment of workers. I'm someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for 15+ years. In all of my time, I have been extremely fair with tip pooling , treating others respectfully etc. What I experienced With this company is the first time I've seen something like this. Working a bartending shift, through the night we received some tips (very minimal amount per a person, maybe $1 average for a 3 hour shift and everyone ordering multiple drinks). About mid shift, the manager on site came behind the bar and grabbed the tip jar we were using. The manager then advised our cash was ready to be returned at our convenience as they had counted and disbursed it. When I returned to the tip pool (left on the counter randomly in a kitchen) roughly 50% of the money was gone. In speaking with another staff member on site, they advised that working with the same company, they have experienced selling drinks via credit card machine, ringing in $500+ of credit card tips, and never receiving any of them......I'm astounded this person returned to work for them. This kind of behavior pretty much speaks for itself. On the event invoice, there various fees for service staff on site, which the staff does not receive at all. I've worked at many other catering facilities in the area and in all of my time have never experienced something like this. A few tips when planning your next party: -Ask for proof that service fees and tips go to the employees working the event. -In the case that a company admits to them not going to the employees, if you plan on tipping employees separately, do it in cash, do it in person, and give the money to the individual(not one individual to disburse).
