Finally had a chance to go to this and it did not disappoint! The class (?) size was perfect and attention was given to each attendees. It was so much fun and you truly feel like an artist lol. If you're looking for something fun to do, I can't recommend taking a class with Tipsy Picassos enough! We took the Pop Art Pets class and JJ was so helpful and hilarious. It took the stress right out of trying to paint your pet perfectly. When you sign up you provide a photo of your pet for reference, you will get a pre-sketched canvas at the beginning of class, and you'll learn all about painting pop art from there. I spent over 3 hours painting my piece and it flew by listening to great music and having a fun time! I like that Tipsy Picassos hosts all kinds of paint and sip classes at some really cool spots around town like Borderlands, The Tuxon, Yoga Pod and so many more. I have done two of their events. One pre-pandemic, And one yesterday, October 1, 2021. A good event for friends and groups. I went with my coworkers yesterday. The staff is very energetic and are helpful with tips and tricks. They provide the paint and materials. They play music, and you can even do a little karaoke. Yesterday's event was at Voltron, a brewery, and they did not sell food so I was very disappointed. I came after work, so I was starving. They had only beer and wine for purchase. And the only water they had was tapwater. It was also really hot inside. But the event I went to previously, was at a bar where you could order drinks and food and that was really nice. My advice would just be to look at the location where they are holding the event. If I'm going to be tipsy Picasso, I need food to go with my alcohol lol read more

I paid $45 for a mosaic class. The time laying was good with lots of tile choices. Unfortunately, the instructor was not experienced or prepared to teach grouting to the class members. It is reasonable to have an expectation that the instructor has learned the project on her own before teaching it. read more

To boil this down to a point, this event is just FUN! It was during this class that I have first painted on canvas, or really had any formal instruction on painting, and JJ (the owner) made it a lot of fun and really relaxing. So this is a painting class that takes place in different bars around town. The classes themselves are between $30 and $45, depending on the material you are painting on and how difficult the painting is. The price for food and beverage are not including in this price so be prepared when you walk in. It not being included actually helps you have a better time because you are able to control the amount you get and there are no surprises at the end. This class also gives you an opportunity to try different bars and venues around town; I personally do not go down town a lot so it gives me more of an insight of where I would go if I am down there. I have now been to this class a few times and very much recommend it to someone who wants to try something new and do something they are not likely to do. Just remember the class motto, "The more you drink, the better your painting looks." read more

This is a late review. I went to a class last summer and really enjoyed myself. Everything was well organized. The instructor gave thorough directions and tips. My painting came out great. I loved to see all the different variations and enjoyed talking to the people around me. You know this is a great company when there are so many regular attendees. I've done several paint and sip classes before and this one was the most negative experience I've had yet. My canvas wasn't available when I arrived promptly on time. In fact a dozen or so of us waited 20 minutes for our pre-sketched drawings. Then it took another 15 minutes to get set up with aprons, paints, and brushes. The venue was very, very crowded. Maybe 40 of us were elbow to elbow on picnic benches. My seat had several nails sticking out of the wood that would poke me in the leg. Since we were outside, the wind blew away everything including paper towels and canvases. Several cups full of water spilled during the event. They even ran out of dark brown paint, which is pretty important for a painting class! The staff were very nice and seemed knowledgeable enough but it quickly became clear that 1 instructor and 1 painting assistant would not be nearly enough attention for the size of the class, as opposed for the level of individual attention I have generally received at another paint and sip class. It also meant that we'd have to wait much longer after we finished for the rest of the class to move forward to additional steps. Ultimately, the full class took 3+ hours. The final painting came out okay but I don't feel I had enough guidance for such a unique painting for it to be something of which I'm proud. I wouldn't mind hanging it in my house, but I'll probably say my 5 year old neice painted it. Save your time and go to painting with a twist instead. read more

I was pretty stressed before attending the event since the last time I painted was in high school many moons ago and I don't have an artist bone in me, but boy I had a blast! It's a fundraiser for Tucson Cold Wet Noses and I was painting my cat which was pre sketched on the canvas. JJ and Fatima went through the process step by step while blasting music and giving out shots. They walked around to give us pointers and encouragements. Other attendees were friendly (because of the booze?) and helping each other out. It's a great way to do something fun while drinking. read more

If zero stars was an option, Tipsy Picassos has earned ZERO. I had purchased two tickets for $50 and made sure to read the fine print before purchasing. I understood that the tickets were nonrefundable, but it does mention in the fine print that they are exchangeable and the date that you purchase could be changed to a later event if you cannot make the initial date you purchase for. Before purchasing my ticket I interrupted on their Facebook page to make sure that I was paying the right amount and where to send my money to. They were extremely helpful and sent me the right links for them to take my $50. Once I found out I could no longer attend the event and was interested in attending a later event on a different day, I got no response. I have tried to reach out over five times in many different ways with no response. I just feel like it's very unprofessional and sad and I would absolutely not recommend this experience to anyone. It's sad that businesses think they can get away with not honoring the policies that they themselves set for customers. Very disappointed. read more

This last class even better than the first I attended. Despite the capacity crowd jj and her assistants her mom and sister Did a fabulous job of making sure everyone had a fun time and successful painting. Door prizes given aways and even karaoke by several exceptional voices . All this and a fundraiser for Bridge animal rescue . I have now done 4 of these and hope to do so much more. I have gone alone and had a very fun time thanks to JJ and her family and I have now had friends join me. I can't wait until the next one. read more

I had a wonderful time painting Hogwarts with a Van Gogh influence. The best part was JJ's instruction and relaxed manner. My first class, I loved JJ and her positive, upbeat attitude. But I felt like there were a few things that were concerning...a lot of people at my table ran out of paint, and it was hard to get help, because they didn't walk around too often. My second class, when someone left to go to the bathroom, the assistant who was teaching the class "fixed" the girl's painting without her knowing. As a teacher myself, I felt like this was so wrong and unprofessional to do. Lastly, there is no credit being used for the artists whose paintings they use as examples on their Facebook. I would love to love them, but I find most things unprofessional. read more
