I am sharing this because I am deeply upset and angry that I had to give up on my dream wedding…read moredress because it started tearing apart at the seams after only two fittings. I purchased my dress, Monique, a floral organza A-line gown made by Savvy's private label Capsule Bridal, at Savvy on September 9th, 2023. I picked up the gown on January 12th, 2024. In February, I discovered that my gown was missing the inner layer slit. When I contacted the manager about this issue, she expressed uncertainty as to why the dress did not include it. Later on I called the store and talked to the manager again about the boning in the bodice breaking. She said she could see what she could do because the owner was out of the country. That evening I opened my gown bag and saw that my dress had begun ripping at the seams of the back of the bodice. The outside layer of organza fabric was ripping and it was creating holes in the gown. Since the dress lacked proper boning structure in the bodice, it was creating stress on the back of the gown that it was now ripping apart. At one point within one of these 2 phone calls, I was alerted that this dress is no longer in production, so ordering a replacement would not be an option. Not once on purchase day did I experience my chest concaving over itself when it was the sample gown. Had someone alerted me that the boning structure would be unable to accommodate my size 38DD chest, I would not have purchased it. But no such advice was given. It is management's job to advise their stylists, to then advise their customers, of these sorts of things. On March 19th, I emailed Savvy and I am floored at the exchange. As seen in my attachments, I sent them pictures and explained what was happening, and I was completely dismissed with cold responses. Imene, the store owner, told me that I in fact had mentioned that it had no inner layer slit upon pickup, and that I was okay with it. As well as when I called the manager to talk about the slit, that I had been offered some sort of compensation. Both statements are false. *Imene stated in her emails to me the following: "It's evident that your strapless gown requires additional boning support due to your bra cup size, which is understandable. As a gesture of goodwill, we have offered a $200 discount on your retail gown..." Using that $200 discount against me in this context is a slap in the face - The day I said yes to the dress, Savvy gave me their "love at first sight" discount, which was 10% off of your gown if you bought the gown during your first appointment.. Was the $200 for a "love at first sight" discount, or was it to make me feel better when I found out that the dress needed way more alterations than I was initially advised? I attached the email communication regarding alterations. Imene advised me to go to their recommended seamstress so that they could take a look at my gown, and then the seamstress would be in contact with Savvy. Imene was insistent that I go to someone she trusts. But what about someone I trust? After collecting a professional opinion, it was deemed unsalvageable for me to wear for the following reasons: the seams are fixable but it would make the dress to small for me and the dress was likely to tear again due to the type of fabric. I am disappointed, devastated, and angry. At the end of the day, Savvy Bridal sold me a defective product and won't bother to explain the quality of the product that was delivered to a paying customer. And because it has been in my possession for over 2.5 months, they claim the issue is now "out of their hands." This is completely unacceptable. I have had to take this charge up with my credit card company, making this a long and drawn out process. I was disappointed enough upon discovering the tears in my dress, as I thought I had found the dress of my dreams. However, the situation was made worse by the lack of assistance and professionalism I subsequently received from Savvy after notifying them of the dress's defects.
