Finally took my wife here after driving by a couple of times and she wanted to check it out. She loved it! High quality, great service comparable to what we've seen in the Highland Park area near Lovers Lane. What we liked about Tip Top Nails is that it is a smaller boutique place. All the nail techs seemed very personable and we noticed there was a lot of customization for the ladies that were having their nails done. My wife's nailed looked great, they looked so high end that even I was impressed and they didn't try to upsell her constantly like the larger nail salons do which makes it a lot easier on my wallet. We'll definitely come back again if we're in the area. Nothing better than having genuinely friendly people working to make your feel pampered and making your nails look beautiful. read more

I have been looking for a more reasonably priced nail salon and happened to meet a girl with a nice looking manicure and asked her where she went. I decided to try tiptop. I went in to get shellac and a spa pedicure. The staff was friendly and polite. The salon has reasonably priced services and is clean. Pedi: the pedi was all good until she got to the massage. Side note: when I get a pedi I LIVE for the FOOT massage. She rubbed soft small circles on my calves THE WHOLE TIME even after I asked her nicely twice to massage my feet more. Shellac: The shellac looked nice when it was finished, but 4 days later it was already starting to chip. Shellac usually last AT LEAST 2 weeks. Here it is exactly a week later and I am able to lift whole shellac pieces off of all ten of my nails. I will not be back to tip top and I will be sticking to the higher priced nail salon that I usually go to. After all, you get what you pay for. read more

I went here because I was looking for a place in Lewisville that did real nail art, not just adding flowers to a french manicure, and found their Facebook via Google and decided to check it out. Terrible mistake. I received the worst pedicure of my life - my toe nails are cut crooked and the woman cut my cuticles so bad I bled. The the acrylic fill... oh goodness. I wanted an ombre design, and the woman (who happened to be the owner) tells me you can only do ombre designs with acrylic powder and she didn't have the powder colors I wanted. I tried to tell her that I've had it done using polish before and she said I was wrong. Okay... so I ask for just plain black polish and a Galaxy design on two nails. She says "No no I'm going to do something else" and uses black acrylic powder with glitter to do the fill and tells me that it looks just like a Galaxy design. I had been there for 2 hours at this point and just wanted to get out of there so I just let her finish so I could leave. Then, against my better judgement, I allowed her to wax my eyebrows... they're SO thin and uneven. Thank god my eyebrows grow crazy fast. I will NEVER go back, and urge others to stay away! I have been going to Tip Top Nail for 4 years. The Pedicures are so relaxing. The shop has always been clean and friendly staff. When I first starting coming here, the owner, Annie she took her time and made sure I was happy with the results. Prior to her starting on my feet I complained and told her I had short stubby toes and most pedicures don't make my feet look pretty. She told me that I've been cutting my toe nails too short. She filed and shaped my nails without taking much nail off. After painting my toe nails, my feet look much better and not so stubby. Now my feet always looks great and I get compliments from my friends when I leave this place. read more

The "massage" consisted of her rubbing the same spot on my shin over and over, and I could have done a better paint job at home. I had to go home and clean up the paint that was flooded all over my cuticles after I asked her to please correct it without success. Pedicure was a good price, the hours are good, and you do not need an appointment. But overall I did not enjoy my experience. It was very warm inside like there was no air running. I sat for a long time. It seemed like they did not have enough people working. Also, what appeared to be the owner was cursing and telling an off color story. It didn't bother me but didn't help with my relaxation. The worst part is that my polish didn't even last 2 days. After wearing shoes for 4 hours the nail polish rubbed off one toe and then peeled off. Didn't chip... But literally peeled off in one big piece. Probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had getting my nails done :-/ Service started out fine, but when my hands were put into a bowl of acetone to soak my old gel off for 15 minutes, that should have been a red flag. The service continued to go downhill from there. The technicians kept switching between clients - and disappearing for no reason. All in all, my hands were under the UV light for 45 minutes, I finally had to remove them and was scolded by the technician. My thumb nails are bumpy horrible messes and all of my nails don't go to the cuticle. Very disappointed and definitely will not return again. read more

I've been to this salon four times. The first time was a pedicure and it was fine. They got me in and out quickly and did a pretty good job. The next time I went, I received horrible service. The water was cold and looked dirty. When I told them it was cold they just drained it a little bit and added some lukewarm water but it still stayed cold. The lady who did my pedicure could not have cared less. She rubbed the same spot on my shin over and over and over until I finally begged her to stop. The paint job was terrible and uneven. But hey, I figured I'd give them another chance. I went back for another visit and it was just as bad as the second. Again with the lady who uses her thumb to rub your shin over and over on the same spot until you beg for mercy. I don't know why but I went back again yesterday...amnesia, I guess. Once again with the cold, dirty water - and it stunk. I mean the water and the shop smelled so bad! After sitting there for 30 minutes (by myself) just soaking my feet in dirty water, I saw the shin--rubbing woman headed toward me so I literally grabbed my stuff and ran. I absolutely could not bear another shin rub from her. I will not be going back and I almost think the state needs to check this place out after the smell yesterday. This is the most disgusting "spa" I've ever been to. I was greeted and told to pick a nail color from their selection. A nail tech was working on a man's feet, when she started up the water in a pedicure chair for me. She did not wash her hands before sloshing her hands around in the water. I sat in the pedicure chair for 20 minutes, waiting. No one talked to me at all or told me how long of a wait it would be. Every nail tech was jumping around between clients. I asked a nail tech how much longer of a wait it would be, and she just shrugged her shoulders. I proceeded to towel dry my own feet off and walked out the door. They do not use clean tools, do not clean out the pedicure chairs between clients, and do not wash their hands. It is disgusting, just like their customer service. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Tried them out on a Sunday afternoon. Walked in for a simple pedicure at 4:15p. Yes they close at 5p. They sat me down in a chair, and that's where I sat for 20 minutes. THEN someone finally got to me, only to speed thru and was so rough that I now have cuts on the sides of feet from the pumice stone since she was in a hurry. As I was getting my fast pedicure, they started cleaning the shop BEFORE they closed at 5p, putting bleach in every chair tub, so the place reeked as I was still in my chair. Then to top it off, they tried to put this bright pink neon polish on my feet, when I clearly had picked out a red and handed it to her, not only did this happen once, but TWICE...because she was in such a hurry to close. I just moved to the area and was looking for a new nail salon to call home. I visited this place three times in order to give it a fair review. I Wanted to like it because it is so close to my new home. I was let down all three times. This last time I arrived on a Tuesday late afternoon. I went in for a gel manicure. I saw a special on the window that said manicure and pedicure for $32. When I walked in the salon was slow and I asked for a gel manicure.(Salon was extremely warm and stuffy.) They asked if I wanted a pedicure, too. They could do both at the same time. I said sure. I did gel manicure and basic pedicure. The ladies were nice but the pedicure was lacking. She rubbed my heel once maybe twice with the pumice stone. The massage lasted maybe 3 minutes on each leg. She went to remove a ingrown toenail and I winced in pain. It looked as if my toe was about to bleed. When all was said and done my bill was $50. I understand paying more for gel but not $18 dollars more. It was the end of the work day. I was tired. I didn't argue and paid plus tip. I just won't ever return. Go to Majestic Nail off Lakeside. They are much better. read more
