They have also taught us tricks on how to manage her resource guarding with other dogs which we are very thankful for. You can tell the trainers here really love what they do and the dogs they work with. We did the 10 day board and train, and just know this was not easy for my husband and I. This dog is our world and we don't just trust anyone with her. They answered all my questions, sent extra updates and pictures and really made me feel so much better about having my dog with them. And she seemed happy when we went to pick her up, I can safely say they took good care of our dog. The trainers gave us all the tools to keep the training going at home as this is the only way it will stick. The follow up lessons have been helpful as well. The training is for us as much as it is for the dogs. I personally feel it was worth the money, time and effort. All dogs need training, boundaries and structure. Recommendations for Dave with Innovative K9 as a trainer kept coming across our search and we decided to invest in the Puppy to Adult Dream Dog Course. To this day, the money spent was absolutely worth it. We learned how to continue training at home, and have always received support with any questions or concerns. We are so happy with the results, we drive an hour each way to board our dog with Innovative K9 when we have trips out of town. Now they offer pick up and drop off which makes it even more convenient! We unfortunately haven't had an opportunity to participate in the group lessons on Saturdays at the park. I just wrapped up a 6-week training program with Dogtown's head trainer, Makenzie and had such an…read moreamazing experience. I have a timid, sometimes reactive and aggressive dog, who needed a lot of help with training. After an hour consultation with Makenzie, we decided to do three day & train sessions where my dog would go to their facility for a half day of training one on one with Makenzie, three at home 1:1 sessions in my dog's natural environment, and three hour long group classes. The amount that I learned in these 6 weeks was absolutely mind blowing. Training your dog is about practice and consistency, and speaking your dog's language, and Dogtown gave me the confidence and the knowledge to be able to train my dog on my own. The day & train opportunities were a wonderful way to start. Makenzie would train my dog 1:1 and then would send me videos about everything they worked on during their sessions. When I came to pick her up, Makenzie would show me what they worked on and how I could practice it at home. The training sessions in my own home were incredibly helpful as well. It gave me time to practice with my dog(s) in their natural environment and refreshers on what we had already learned, and building upon the skills she was learning. The group sessions were amazing for my dog, and any dog, to have an opportunity to practice in a new, overstimulating environment with other dogs that she doesn't know. Since she is apprehensive around other dogs, this was amazing practice for her. On top of everything else, the team is so friendly and kind, and the trainers are so knowledgable. I had the chance to take a group class with their trainer Maren and she was wonderful as well. Thank you to the team for teaching both me and my dog the skills to be better trained.
