We have been coming here for agility and dog training for over a year…read more After trying over five different training facilities, we are ecstatic that we have finally found a superb trainer who is friendly, attentive, and enthusiastic. It is a joy to come to every class and never fail to either learn something new or become better at a previous trick. We had a very hard time simply teaching our Havanese to "stay" and during Rockin' Relationship which is an ongoing training session to increase your personal relationship with your dog. The trainer was constantly recommending different methods to help train our dog. When she introduced us to platform training, it was like a god send. Our dog finally learned to stay and passed her canine good citizen exam. In fact every dog in that class passed that exam. Roz believes if you have a positive relationship with your dog, your dog will want to be with you and do what you ask instead of command, which greatly helped with our dog who never listened to commands. We learned to reward good behavior and simply ignore the bad. It works. We highly recommend MyHero Dog Training to everyone with a dog. She is exceptionally tolerant of all dogs, even dogs that are fear reactive whom most trainers are not qualified to help train.

I had problems with my dog lunging and challenging other dogs. She told me to distract him with treats. I said he wasn't interested in treats when he was around other dogs. He just wanted to bark and lunge at the other dogs. She told me...maybe he just couldn't be with other dogs. That was her solution to a problem dog. I took him to J & J Custom K-9 for training. I attached pictures here of my now off-leash fully trained dog with tons of other dogs. He is the littlest black dog in the pics. Calm and tolerant of any other dog. Absolutely no treats involved. He does what he is told to do because he loves and respects me. Not because I keep a pocket full of bacon. He does NOT lunge or snap at other dogs. He is incredible! If you want a show dog and have endless money, if you don't mind carrying a pocket full of bacon treats, if you have an easy dog, this might be ok training for you. For me and my dog, it did not work. I think the trainer needs to open her mind to other types of training methods that might work for difficult dogs.

Bonnie is absolutely fantastic! She tailors her approach to each dog and its owner to ensure the two connect and communicate effectively with each other, which makes ALL the difference in training. I've taking a number of training courses with my dog and worked with various trainers, but this is the first time I've felt there's a fantastic balance between instructing the dog and instructing the human. Oftentimes a trainer excels in one and may lack in the other, but Bonnie and Alternative Canine Training excel at both, which helps owner and dog work better as a team. I highly recommend these courses and these trainers to anyone with a dog, no matter if it's a puppy ready to kick off obedience training or an adult dog that could use a brush up. And added bonus is that the class takes place in a pet store, which may be a little frustrating at first since there's a ton of distractions that your dog is working against, but stick with it and your dog will not only learn how to focus through all those distractions but obedience at home without them will be a cake walk. I highly recommend!

Back when I lived on a 40-acre ranch in Northern California, I had plenty of space and other dogs around to help with the process. When my wife and I were fostering dogs in Michigan, she fell in love with a Miniature Pinscher mix named Obi. He was different from any dog I'd trained before, and without other dogs to help with training, it was a challenge. We needed Obi to be able to travel the world with us and assist my wife with her PTSD. Within six weeks, Fred from The Dog Wizard trained us on how to make Obi an incredible companion. The transformation was night and day. Now, Obi walks calmly by our side unless given the 'free' command. He accompanies us to stores, ignoring everything and everyone around him. One of his biggest issues was reacting to other dogs on leash--no longer a problem! Recently, we visited a crowded cider mill with hundreds of kids running around. Obi stayed calmly by my feet, unaffected by the chaos. Kids asked to pet him, and I explained he was working. I can't say enough good things about Fred; he's like family now. What he did for us truly means the world to me."

Her space is comfortable, safe for the dogs and perfectly located downtown Ply. Judy also does 1-1 and home trainings too. She helped get us started with our rescue pup who was afraid of the sound of her own breathing. Judy taught us some key skills which included changing some of our habits in our house. With any animal that had an unknown or came from an abusive previous home, it takes time to help build trust and change some of the behaviors of the animal. With Judy's guidance and our diligence over the last few years to creating a safe and learning environment for our pup, she's a happy, loving, brave and mostly non-reactive dog. There's always skills we need to bring back into our rotation but it's all thanks to Judy to help us along the way. We've recommended her to many people and my mom is active in classes with her new puppy.

My kitten has been diagnosed with Feline Panleukopenia (feline distemper) -- a highly contagious…read moreand often fatal virus -- and my veterinarian has confirmed she almost certainly had this illness before I ever brought her home. If I could give this place negative 100 stars, I would. This business should not be open. I trusted this store to sell me a healthy kitten, and instead I was sold a severely sick animal that was misrepresented in both age and health. Within days of bringing her home, she became ill, and now I am facing the heartbreaking reality that she may not survive. On top of that, my veterinarian confirmed that she is not even the age they told me she was. I was told she was significantly older, but she is actually no more than around 8 weeks old. This means they either did not know basic information about the animal they were selling or knowingly misrepresented her age to make a sale -- both of which are completely unacceptable. I have already spent over $800 in veterinary bills, and the costs continue to climb -- all because I was sold a kitten who was already infected. Feline panleukopenia has a known incubation period, which makes it clear this did not happen after I got her. She came from this store already sick. This has been one of the most emotionally devastating and stressful experiences I have ever gone through. Instead of enjoying a new pet, I am: * Constantly monitoring her condition * Cleaning up severe diarrhea and illness * Hoping she makes it through each day On top of that, I now have to worry about my other cat being exposed to this extremely contagious virus. No responsible business should ever put someone in a position where they fear for the life of multiple pets because of negligence. This situation is: * Absurd * Negligent * Completely unacceptable No ethical business should be selling animals in this condition. The fact that this happened raises serious concerns about how these animals are treated and cared for before they are sold. I am heartbroken, financially drained, and beyond frustrated. No one should have to bring home a new kitten only to immediately fight to keep them alive. Please think very carefully before purchasing from here. I would not wish this experience on anyone.
