A hidden gem! To start with, they open at 5am and are happy to see you! Surprise, happy people still live and work in Atlanta who are active in the community. The staff at Tip Top Donuts know their diverse group of customers and when they haven't been around in a moment. They actually ask the customers how they have been, what they have been up to and remember what they previously said. How's that for customer service? #shoplocal If you don't give Tip Top Donuts your business, it's you who is missing out. Great food and southern hospitality at 5am, it's a no brainer. Here is some menu photos, the ones on yelp I couldn't read. So glad I drove over here anyway :^) #realperson #iamsuzanne #myopinion

Amazing customer service and delicious donuts. They know their customers well. We haven't been many times since my previous review but they seemed to remeber my family. I love restaurants that get to know those in their community. On this visit we ordered 1/2 dozen donuts All donuts were delicious. We tried the glaze, sour cream, Chocolate cake, and Chocolate glazed. We even tried the pigs in a blanket which was savory. I didn't get one this time but I also recommend their cronut.

From top left: maple, coconut, sour cream, plain cake, glazed twist, cinnamon sugar (those others are all FREE glazed donut holes)

Old school donuts. In fact, the only other customer in the store with me at 6am was a cop. The cashier was very nice and not at all impatient with me while I hesitated over what to choose. He asked me if I'd been there before and when I sad "No" he gave me a free donut in a separate bag "free donut for first timers" he said. And all the donuts were fresh and delicious!

Great donuts but pricey--$18 for a dozen. But sometimes you just need a good donut. These are fresh a so good.

The donuts are delicious. I love that they just throw in a couple glazed donut holes with your order. Staff was very friendly too

Yummy donuts at a hole in the wall type place! This is right off Cobb parkway so I stopped here spontaneously to get a donut. I got the glazed and they weren't very sugary which is good. The owner is nice and threw in a couple of glazed donut holes for free. Just as an fyi there is a $4 minimum for credit card.

Saw this spot while driving around and I had to stop. I got Boston cream donut and my friends got maple bacon. Boston cream was really good. To overly sweet and the cream was smooth and creamy. My friend loved their maple bacon donuts. They would not stop talking about it all day! Apparently this place made next door Dunkin ran out of business. I wouldn't be surprised if it's true.

I'm so glad that mom and pop donut shops still exist because this place deserves a recognition. The owner was super nice and their donuts, not to mention, are excellent! Every order also comes with free donut holes. My favorite is the chocolate glazed with sprinkles, but honestly you can never go wrong with anything from this place.

From the diner being cozy and fairly quiet, to being welcomed with a friendly voice as soon as you walk in, to the plentiful selection of sandwiches, plates, and more... I wouldn't be surprised if this is someone's morning "Cheers"! There is plenty of comfortable seating, a couple of TVs quietly on, and easy lighting. This would be a good place to set up office as well. I just wanted a simple bagel and cream cheese, and it was super easy to find what they had and order. My only complaint would be that there wasn't enough of the shmeer on my deliciously toasted blueberry bagel. I was ecstatic to see they had a pork-free sausage option and ordered some turkey sausage on the side. I have to say, the coffee was good too. Nothing fancy here, with carafes lined up on the counter, but the taste of drip coffee was better than your average diner cafe. I'll definitely come back.

I owe Brooklyn Deli an apology for not finding them sooner…read more As a New Yorker turned Atlantan, I have spent the last year quietly lowering my expectations for bagels here. I've had some that were OK. Some that were good-ish. Some that were simply round bread with a hole in the middle. I began to accept that it just wasn't a thing here. And then today I ordered the whitefish bagel from Brooklyn Deli. Oh. My. God. The bagel was chewy, fresh, and actually tasted like a BAGEL. The whitefish was incredible. The whole thing tasted like nostalgia. Like somebody briefly picked me up from Atlanta and dropped me back on 24th and 3rd for brunch. Absolutely remarkable. No notes. My bagel-related cynicism has been temporarily suspended, and Brooklyn Deli has earned the extremely prestigious approval of one extremely dramatic former New Yorker.

(I'm looking at you, Jack's New Yorker Deli.) But I was in the Ansley Mall neighborhood for some errands and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. It was a Sunday afternoon and the line was out the door so that is usually a good sign. I went with the Brooklyn sandwich (Hot pastrami, coleslaw, swiss, spicy mustard, & Russian dressing). You can opt for the smaller portion of meat (the ATL) or the larger portion (New York). It was just the right amount of coleslaw, mustard and Russian dressing so that the bread wasn't sopping wet. And the pastrami is hot and it wasn't overly greasy either. A nice balance with the side order of potato salad. It was a little more sandwich than I needed for lunch but it was pretty faithful to New York style all things considered. $18.50 for the larger New York version of the Brooklyn sandwich including tax. I was tempted by the Dr. Brown's sodas from back home and all of the pastries and deli items for sale as you are making your way up to the front to place your order. Sunday afternoon is not really the time to shop around because of how busy it gets in there so a return trip is definitely in order.

Seriously, it was so good that I went back two days later and told my son he had to try it too. Unfortunately, the second experience was the complete opposite. My son picked up two sandwiches and brought them home, and they were so disappointing that neither of us even finished them. The bagels tasted stale, they weren't toasted, and there was barely any of the cream cheese dressing on them. My son actually thought I was crazy for telling him how delicious the sandwich was because what he brought home was nothing like what I had the first time. That's what makes it so disappointing. I know the sandwich CAN be really good because my first one was amazing. But based on my two experiences, it seems like the quality may depend on who is making your sandwich that day and whether the bagels are fresh. One big plus is that they have a lot of non-pork options, which I really appreciate as someone who doesn't eat pork. I'd still be willing to give them another try because that first sandwich was THAT good, but the second visit was extremely disappointing. Consistency definitely needs some work.
