I've been using Gilmer Nails Spa and Lashes for my Pedi and Nails for about 2 years (always had…read moreexcellent service) and didn't mind paying 59 cents to use my debit/credit card; then it went up to 79 cents which I paid. Now they are charging a 3% fee for using debit/credit card to cover bank service charges. I usually pay about $100 for the services, now I'm charged $3.00 to spend $100 in that store. I was in there today when I read the sign they posted about this charge. I usually tip on my card but today I didn't want to pay them a fee to give their workers a tip. I paid cash for the tips because I didn't want to short the workers. I worked for a bank 20 years and never was the fee that outrageous. I do know they charge a fee for not using their charge machines but it's usually a small percentage of the total debit/credit card charges. The services fees are right in-line with other salons and they don't charge a fee to use the card. The fees we pay for the service is suppose to cover the "cost of doing business". How do the others do it? Unfortunately, my bank doesn't have a location for me to get cash so my checks are sent directly to my account and I have to use debit/credit cards. Now your only problem is "you're not the only salon in Gilmer/Gladewater area, so you will lose mine and my daughter's business. Thanks for the past services, which I liked "most" of them. Worst manicure I've ever had! I saw the Yelp stars and was extremely shocked at how bad my simple…read moremanicure turned out!! I asked for rounded nails. She squared some & rounded others, all were very rough, not smooth and asked if they were okay. She did go back and fixed them. She also made one of my cuticles bleed when she cut me. Then she put too much powder on the bleeding finger and proceeded to place the clear polish all fingers were clear polish) over the blood/powder mess on my finger, while doing the rest of my nails! I was totally disgusted! During the manicure she would compliment me to distract how bad of a job she was doing, I am not blind! I believe the owner did my manicure. I also had a pedicure & that was okay, not great, but compared to how bad the manicure was okay. This is why I gave 2 stars, had it been just the manicure it would be 1 or less stars! BTW, the polish on my fingers has been peeling off since the day after!!
