Tiny Tots is a really special place and I recommend it highly to any family looking for a Pre-K for their child. It's been caring for and teaching kids in Bay Ridge literally for generations - the founder was the mom of the current director, Kim Pomaro ("Ms. Kim"), and Kim's daughter, Aimee, is the head teacher in one of the two classrooms. I don't quite know how to articulate all the ways Tiny Tots is great, but the Pomaros are just kid people, and so are the other fantastic teachers there (who my son had), and they've create a wonderful kid-oriented culture. It's nurturing and warm, and they also expect kids to learn things - like how to write their name - that they'll need to know in Kindergarten.
Here's an example of what makes Tiny Tots special: this spring after the school year ended with 3 months of remote learning, they held a socially distanced, one family at a time, "graduation" ceremony to mark the end of the year and give the kids a sense of completion and achievement. At the ceremony and again on the last video class the next day, most or all of the teachers had tears in their eyes, sad to see the kids go, and proud of how they'd grown.
My family will always remember Tiny Tots with great affection and I can't recommend them highly enough. read more
