(Changed my review; because Micah made good on his word and made me a priority this morning to take care of my window. He can now add me to the already long list of satisfied customers.) Very disappointed with the way Micah does business and the quality of work that was done. I have bubbles in my tint on the rear window also have bubbles in the tint on the passenger side rear window that I just found this past week when cleaning my vehicle. Not to mention I have been trying to get my front window tinted going on 3 weeks now from Micah and cannot get him to show up. He rescheduled my original appointment when he did the other windows and he actually showed up for that rescheduled appointment. However, he has rescheduled my front window appointment 3 different times now and has yet to show up for any of them. He rescheduled a Saturday appointment due to a family emergency which I completely understand and don't hold that against him, but he rescheduled for that Monday and didn't even show up. Never got a message back when I text him asking for a time frame. He didn't even have the common courtesy to even call or message to let me know he wasn't going to make it the last two times which includes the scheduled appointment for today. Tintworks has completed all of our cars over the years from trucks and sports cars to luxury SUVs. Micah is the best in the business and has been tinting cars for a very long time. If you want quality tint, this is the only place in Charleston to get it. Highly recommend. read more

Be very careful hiring Micah to do tint work for you. I must start off by saying that Micah has done quality work for me in the past. Micah tinted three other vehicles in the past and his work was excellent. But, customer service is about how you handle things when they go wrong; not just how often you do quality work. For that reason it is necessary to share my experience with Micah so you are informed about the risk of working with him. Micah tinted my 2005 Mercedes CLK 500 and the work looks good. The problem is that ever since he did the work my keyless entry no longer functions. I will spend $2,000 to address this or do without keyless entry. He first blamed it on weak key batteries even though both keys worked great and lit up when pushing buttons. I replaced $20 worth of batteries and the keyless entry still did not work. He then said the keys and car needed reprogramming and he offered to send a friend to do that free of charge. After weeks of calls and texts there was no response. I now took the car to a well known car repair shop who spent many hours troubleshooting the issue to discover that Micah had cut the antenna wire (on rear windshield) while trimming tint. They charged me $200 to determine that and referred me to a mercedes dealer. I paid $85 for the dealer to determine the same thing. The solution is to replace the rear windshield ($850 part) and to replace the attached keyless remote locking module located above the headliner ($800 part) as these are paired. This work would incur $350 of labor equalling $2,000 in work and I have already spent $285 troubleshooting this. When I reached Micah finally to discuss he disputed that he had cut this wire and that either the dealer or the respected independent dealer was making the right diagnosis. So I got a third opinion from an independent Mercedes shop (in Chas for 30+ years) who gave me the same conclusion. All three shops were familiar with Micah and all said the same thing: that his work for the past several years has not been as good as when he first started working years ago and that orher common clients had also had issues with Micah respondind or backing up his work. Buyer beware! Don't let a $200 tint job cost you thousands in repairs! Use another more reputable tint company. read more

I have never written a review before because I have never needed to so this is what happened to me at Tint works the customer service is horrible they told me to come on in after I called to get my car tinted then when I got there said they ran out of the material to tint my windows. So he asked me to set up a time and come back. 2 days later I go back and the agreement they drafted was no longer valid and he wanted to charge me more I asked why he didn't call me and let me know that he wasn't honoring his deal and that he would no longer give me the deal they wrote up. He told me that the other employee didn't know what he was doing. The only consolation to this experience is that they will go out of business. Take it for what it's worth but I wouldn't go there if the tinting was free!!!!! Don't waste your time read more

First off I just want to say I love Tintworks! Second I want to add I'm pregnant and this summer heat is no place for a pregnant chick! I stopped by Tintworks on Tuesday after lunch to just get prices and set an appointment. I figured they wouldn't be able to squeeze me in that day with such short notice BUT the owner noticed I was pregnant and my car is black with black leather and decided to tint them that day anyways. He stayed late after closing hours when he could of just went home and told me to come back later. The owner was truly wonderful and I'm so thankful I stopped there. Utterly horrible, do not give this business your business. Horrible service, generally don't answer the phone, voicemail constantly 'full', will not call when changes are necessary, will not call when the work is done, and the work they did was completely subpar...so many tint companies out there, choose someone else! read more
