To re-do my tint, I called a few different tinting places in San Jose and Tint Tech was the most responsive along with having reasonable prices and friendly service. In the past, I had my Honda Civic Sedan's rear windows tinted to 5% at a different company and it made it much too difficult to drive at night due to the percentage of light allowed in and the quality of the film. I explained to T (Tee maybe?) my issue and he was able to help me choose a tint percentage that aligned more to my goals. I did not feel rushed nor upsold during our conversation and really appreciated his genuine advice and insight. We settled on 25% light allowed in for the back windows so I could meet Seattle tinting laws, which was important to me (this also takes into account the factory tint that was already on the base window). This place also use 3M for the tinting brand, which is higher quality than most tint brands. I requested a quote back in July 2021 for my new Tesla Model 3 LR white interior. T was responsive, providing a competitive price - and a bit more affordable - compared to other Bay Area tint shops. I wasn't in a rush to get the tint done so flash forward to Jan 2022, I finally decide that it's time. I reached out again to T, and he responded almost immediately with his earliest availability. T told me it would take 3.5 hours for the installation. I booked the appointment the same day I reached out. I had an idea for the tint level I wanted but wasn't sure yet because of the white interior. I expressed concerns on the tint being too dark that the white interior wasn't noticeable, or too light that it didn't make sense to install a tint at all. T was informative and helpful. He mentioned that with a white interior, you should go darker than what you originally want. T also mentioned that he installed a 5% tint on a Tesla with white interior and that you could still see through the windows. He brought out 2 rolls of a 15% and 20% 3M Ceramic tint, showing me how it would look over the side windows. It was around 2:30pm during my appointment so there was still a decent amount of sun reflecting on the car. Depending on the angle of where you're looking in and where the sun hits the car, more light shines through. With the 15%, you could see the white interior still. I decided on the 15% for the side and rear windows. (Note: T does the rear window in 1 full piece!) T had the car done by 5pm -- 30 minutes earlier than expected. The picture was taken around 5pm when I went to pick up the car. Less light outside so the tint looks darker than it would in the daytime. The entire experience and how my windows came out was 5/5 stars. T was cooperative and responsive. He's done plenty of Tesla tint installations so I knew my car was in good hands. Came here to remove my existing tint since it had bubbled and to install their 3M film on all my side windows and back window. The job took about 2.5 hours (on the Sunday before Labor Day Weekend) I had my car washed and vacuumed before dropping it off. When I got there, my car was already outside and it looked great. The tint looked good. However, when I opened up my car, there were water marks (from the steamer he used) all over my back seats (leather) and on the sides of my doors. Later, I noticed water had dripped inside my trunk and glue residue everywhere. I would think he put some towels over my car seat or wipe them but nope! I didn't say anything because what was I suppose to say? "Did you not clean my car?" I let it go since I didn't think it was a big deal. However, I noticed it much more when I got home. Paid for everything via card. No questions. Then when as I got in my car and started it, the engine won't turn on! I tried turning on and off my car it wouldn't start. The guy causally comes back and asks "Your car won't start? Try turning it on and off again" which I did, and nothing. I was so confused because my car was running fun and had no issues. Then he tries to blame me for not changing my car battery? LOL. My car was perfectly fine when I dropped it off. Then he finally decides to tell the truth- mentions that he had my car on the whole entire time he was working on it, it had stopped earlier and had to jump it. He goes back to get a battery to jump my car then my car started running again. He reassures me that my car would be up and running by the next day since my car system need to restart. I went straight home because I was afraid my car wouldn't start if I stop by somewhere. There are still water marks and glue in my car that I couldn't get rid off. Now I'm looking for a place to detail my car to get it cleaned properly. TLDR: Tint was good. Left water mark and glue everywhere in my car. He pretended he didn't run my battery dry. read more

I got my windows tinted from a place that did my former honda fit. I thought if i went back there, they would provide the same quality they did with my honda fit. They screwed me over, and didnt follow what i really wanted. I asked to have my rear windows the darkest they had but when they were done, they told me that my interior was hella nice that they wanted it to "pop out" so they didnt go dark. When i asked them that i didnt like that, they charged me again to fix it. I am thankful that Tee from Tint Tech hooked it up. He overlay the tint that the other guy did and made it the darkest! He said that the previous guy had the rear windows at about 11% when i specifically asked for 5% then. Tee did a great job, no bubbles and my rear and back windows look legit! My car felt a little cooler. He charged me $325 for the rear and back windows. The price was reasonable but im definitly coming back for the glass roof! He also responds fairly quick and no BS. After reading all the great reviews I was really looking forward to getting my tints done here. It was a little on the higher price compared to other places, but due to the great reviews I figured why not? I made an appointment through Yelp (the owner was quick to reply). The entire process took a couple hours to complete. When I picked up my car it was getting dark outside so I didn't get a chance to examine the work until the next morning. The next morning, I noticed some imperfections on some of the tint. The rear window tint had a cut on the tint that was noticeable from both sides and it also had bubbles. The driver side had a small particle of hair trapped between the window and the tint that was noticeable. Also, on the two small rear passenger windows there was light coming through the corner. There were also water marks on the side panels, I think from the water they need to spray on the tint/window. I wish he could have protected the side panels better as there are electrical components in them. I contacted the owner and he was willing to take a look at the imperfections and fix any problems which I appreciated. I just wish everything had been done correctly the first time so that I nor the owner would have to go back and waste our time. I did notice that he is the only one working on the cars so perhaps he is overbooked and he tries to finish cars on time, thus sacrificing the quality? I'm sad to say that I won't be recommending nor using his service again. Also, there are still some small bubbles in the back window, barely noticeable but they are there. I recently broke a window and had to get that window and tint replaced -- unfortunately I didn't do my research on tint quality before going somewhere else. When another shop installed their tint I realized it was not going to match my current windows AT ALL! I left there pretty upset about it. I immediately went home and researched tint types, brands and local shops. 3M is very well known, quality films with the latest technologies and Tint Tech had great reviews! Shop owner T, was quick to respond and fit me in within a few days. The shop wasn't too hard to find and when I arrived, T was very quick to show me my options. I ended up going with the IR ceramic tint. I probably could've gotten away with keeping the darkest shade of 5 but my paranoia set in and I went 5 in the back and 15 in the front. It took him about 3 hours total. When I picked my car up I was really happy with the workmanship and it was 100% better than the previous. T gave me follow up paperwork about the lifetime warranty and assured me I could come back if any issues arose within the first few days. I was so happy with T that my husband brought his car in to be redone the week afterward. Same experience, excellent! I'll be visiting soon to add the clear coating to my windshield.
