My only regret is that there isn't a location closer to my house. They always have a great selection in the atmosphere is just what you want in a cigar lounge. It's hard to find much of their good selection outside of a standard cigar store not a smoke shop that sells cigars. Just stopped into the Tinder Box. My step son lives ten mins away in Pineville so I figured I would check it out. Love this place. Great selection of high end cigars as well as the usuals. I live in NJ and it's very difficult to find the selections this place has. Small but very cozy lounge with leather seating. Knowledgeable and courteous staff. Walking into Tinder Box Ballantyne I had one thing on my mind... cigar boxes of course! I love collecting them and seeing what new boxes are out or that I haven't found yet. I was immediately welcomed by the sales clerk who asked if I needed any help or assistance. I told him I was looking for all the boxes he had, and if he had some extra time for me to sit and look lol. He said of course so, I did just that. Made myself comfortable in the corner and looked through the many cigar boxes. Other customer came into the store and he assisted them as needed providing great customer service. Once he finished assisting the other customers he asked if he could help me find anything specific. I told him I was looking for a box that possibly had velvet lining similar to a Romeo y Juliet. He showed me a few boxes that could work with what I was looking for. After going through all the boxes I purchased two boxes that I loved. You can purchase any empty cigar box for $2.00. Afterward, I looked around and he showed me the cigar lounge. It looked very comfortable with about 5 individual lounge chairs. They also have sodas available for purchase for those that decide to relax in the lounge for a while. I think this is a great place for anyone looking to purchase cigars, cigar boxes, or experience a great cigar lounge for the first time. read more

With smokers being treated as law-breakers now-a-days it is a pleasure to find a well-run and well-stocked tobacconist, this one located in the Ballantyne Village shopping center off of Johnson Road/Hwy 521. The best part of this smoking shop is that they have a VERY nice and comfortable smoking lounge, replete with heavy stuffed leather chairs, occasional tables and TV. Here is how it works. Bring in your cigar, sit down and fire it up. OR...go through their very adequate and well-stocked humidor, select the cigar of your choice, ask Zack or one of the other good guys at the cash register to cut it and then go smoke it. It is just so nice and pleasurable. The people you meet are from all walks of life, so if you want to talk or engage, do so. Some read their newspapers, some do office work and others watch the TV. There are cold sodas available to boot. Certainly this is a great opportunity to experiment with different cigars so that you can try some and perhaps later come to the two or three you like best and put those in your home humidor. And advise is available from the employees and from the other customers. But smoking quality cigars is as personal as buying perfume. Very individualized and "to taste." This is a good deal and a place I go to just relax and enjoy the comfort of the shop, the products and the people. read more

Always a good spot. I bought a 3 pack of Romeo by RYJ. They were toros en Tubos; so 3 in aluminum tubes and the boxed and the box was plastic covered. Maybe this was what led to one having obvious mold. The others, as well as some from other boxes looked to have good Plume, and others with possible mold. It's hard to tell sometimes. But because of the one with the mold I was skeptical and overly cautious and decided to get something else completely. The guys were more than willing to work with me and change the sticks out. They even gave me an additional discount for the trouble. No questions and great attitudes. For this reason alone: they'll keep my business. But even this aside it's a great place. Great selection and a room to smoke. And they keep their flavored cigars in a separate humidor, which is great! I don't want my Davidoff in the same box as an acid! ;) read more
