Let me start by saying that I love how this location is conveniently located in the bottom of the parking garage without having to go into the mall. They also have a designated parking spot for those running in to grab a cigar quick. The service was great! Even though they were about to close up they were still helpful. I also loved the cigar collection they have and it was much larger than I thought it would be. They had my favorite cigar, Sweet Jane in the smaller size which are hard to find and also the mini Liga's that my wife likes. The prices were also great! OK, Cigar lovers this is the place. They have every brand from Arturo Fuente to Davidoff Ashton and everything in between for any taste. Everything is at suggested retail price so you're paying a fair price. You will not get ripped off here. The staff is amazing. Their lounge is cozy, but there's always a nice conversation going on. Every time my wife go shopping at the mall I always find my way to the Tinderbox. It's what a cigar shop should be. Five Stars and they even have a nice selection of pipe, tobacco and pipes. Tinder Box is a great place with a convenient location. Stopped by this location after dropping off a rental at CLT. This store is a short drive away. I walked in and was greeted by an employee with a smile. He told me he wouldn't crowd me but was available if I had any questions. I'm accustomed to the way stores are run in Cali, where employees follow you around due to thefts being on the rise and many places closing. I made my way into the humidor and found they have a huge selection of mid to top-tier premium cigars and I could have spent hours in this one! As I perused the selection the employee came in to check stock and restock anything that needed it. He was immediately available to answer a couple of questions I had and met me at the register to bag up my selections that were fairly priced. Davidoff I feel like I don't need to much else. But I will. They have a smoking room so you can enjoy your stogie asap. Prices are competitive and the selection is outstanding. Their only real competition are their other locations. It's that serious. There are several smoking clubs in Charlotte, but they don't offer the same array of cigars for sale. Went on a hunt for better cigars than what my local shop has to offer and found this little gem. Not much of a stretch to call it a gem since I found myself going subterranean..not the easiest place to find but with the search. I was fairly surprised to see this location had a bit more than I had expected. Everything from your basics to things with much fancier price tags. Definitely a fabulous selection. Also, their employee Char(Shar?) was an absolute delight. More than happy to show my friend and i around and made several suggestions that I'm very happy with. Couldn't have asked for better customer service. This location is certainly worth checking out if you're in the area. If you're a regular cigar smoker then expect to find yourself feeling as a kid in a candy shop. read more

It's a cool shop that is in the mall, but not where all of the stores are. Parking is good because it's a mall. The hours are a bit to be desired. I assume it's Covid related. Their walk in humidor has a good selection of the big brands and lesser known sticks. The have a smoking area with about 10-12 seats. Staff is very pleasant. read more

Since moving to Charlotte in early 2011, Tinder Box has become my number one stop for good cigars. They have a huge well kept humidor room, helpful staff, and most important some really great cigars. One of my favorite things about this place is that every employee seems to be a seasoned cigar smoker. They are rather friendly, and verily astute regarding their products. If you have a friend or loved one whom is a cigar smoker and you, yourself are not, these folks can help you. The prices are on par. Again, the selection is extensive. The only thing I don't really like about it is the location. It is in the basement of the South Park mall, hence, it can be hectic finding a place to park sometimes. I have been smoking cigars for a couple years and have been to a lot of cigar shops in a lot of cities. Some with better selections. Many with better parking, but rarely any with collective experience and helpfulness of the folks at tinderbox. read more

No reviews? Weird but here goes. I'm in no way a big cigar guy. So when I get the impulse to buy a few I want to make sure I go somewhere with those that are big on cigars can help me out. This Tinder Box location does that. They have very knowledgeable staff who are quick to help you out to make a decision. This particular time they were even nice enough to sell me a very nice ashtray for nearly 50% off the price. Can't beat that! Also to note, they have hookah supplies here as well. As you know parking at the Arboretum can be a hassle. This is no exception here. read more

I was ordering some gifts on line in hopes of picking them up today. When I proceeded to park in there 15 minute parking the Mgr/owner ( slightly bald, thin gentleman) whom I'd seen on occasion, saw me sitting in there 15 minute spot and proceeded to give me dirty looks ( didn't know why, since I was a patron) I was taken aback since I frequented the shop often, (nice hidden gems, since I'm not a smoker). Apparently security was called on me for parking there, although I was there for Tinderbox. I did cancel the order and will not be going back. read more

Selection is nice, lounge is decent too. Largest complaint I have is the staff at every tinder box location I've been to are simply salesman with no goal to help the customer. For instance, I witnessed an employee suggest a first timer a $15 dollar julius Caesar which is too much (price wise and flavor wise) for a newcomer. Also, the same guy pointed out a davidoff to me when I was in the mood for a cheap mild cigar since it was early in the day. The employees are just there for a job and generally don't know much about cigars, this is mainly evident at the Providence location. read more

I always love stopping by this place when I'm ever in the South Park area or just want take it easy for a while. The Cigar lounge is very nice and it's very great to meet other fellow Cigar smokers too. They also offer free match's if you use them instead of a lighter for your Cigars like myself. Today I entered the store I have been in a million times. An associate asked me if I needed help I responded no thank you I've been here a million times and know what I want. Two people were already in the humidor a young couple but the associate follows me in as if I am a thief, and touches a couple of cigars and keeps an eye on me. Unacceptable to treat me like a thief when I ha e spent $1000s in the tinderbox over the years. While in the humidor didn't ask the young couple if they needed help, who actually had no idea what they were looking for, so in conclusion you have lost a customer, I will be following up with a phone call to management to voice my concerns read more

Nice lounge and friendly staff. Very good selection, well maintained. Central location and it's great to not have to go into the mall. They are outstanding supporters of cigar smokers. You pay a bit more but you get excellent value. I have been in larger places with finer lounges so that's the missing star. But, still, fine job here. read more

This is my preferred cigar store/lounge in Charlotte. Best selection that I have seen personally. Friendly and helpful staff, most of whom seem reasonably knowledgable. Comfortable lounge with plenty of room. The regulars there are always friendly and willing to strike up a conversation. Great people, great cigars, great time. Only minor complaint is that their pipe tobacco selection could use a little beefing up, but this is understandable considering most of their business comes from cigars and not pipes. read more
