I really like this restaurant, but depending on the cook the food can be a hit or miss... I have noticed that lately the food comes out really greasy. Should be cooked just right and not leave a greasy feel with every bite. They have done this with the rice many times too and the portion sizes are also based on who you get or who prepared the prepackaged mixes. I find that $9 for a noodle serving or Pad Woon Sen should feed 2 people. Pad Thai is a pretty good portion. So as I said, it all depends on who is cooking and prepping. Hopefully they improve. I still think its one of the better asian options in Newnan. read more

Ordered Tikka Masala from the Tin Drum on Monday. It was fine. Meh. Bland. You definitely receive more rice than necessary, and the curry itself is really one note, and that note is chili. Not a whole lot of depth. The bit of chicken I had in it was really tender though! It's not BAD, it's just not exceptional or exciting. I'd eat here again to try something different. read more

I love this place and the only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the manager, Sandy was rude!! Ever since the owner, who is very sweet, was in the restaurant on one particular occasion, had taken my order and I was asking about changing it up. She said we can whatever you like and even gave some suggestions to me. Since that day each time I go in I order it a certain way, until today! The lady taking my oder wasn't sure how to input the order in the computer and asked Sandy for help. When the cashier asked Sandy how to place the order in the computer Sandy said, "we don't do that"! I told her that I've been getting it this way for a long time now. Sandy insisted that they can't do that but then told the cooks what I wanted. However when I got my food it was missing the main ingredient (that I changed). I have no problem if things are NOW not allowed to be changed in this aspect, however how she approached me and/or this situation was horrible customer service. Before I finished my review, the cashier approached me and asked how my food was. I told her great but it was missing "said" ingredient. She apologized in which I told her it was ok and not her fault. After 10 minutes went by Sandy approached me and apologized for missing ingredient and gave me a card for a free meal. She offered to get me the missing ingredient but I was almost done with my food and said no thank you. The cashier came back after Sandy left and said she wanted to make things "right" by letting Sandy know. She also said she's a great manager on which I said she probably is but how she handled the situation was not good. read more

The food is a bit pricy but for the quality its worth it. Everything I have tried here has been delicious, today I tried the potstickers and a special they currently have going on called the sweet rolls with curry. Can't understand the near 5 star rating for this place. While I understand Tin Drum isn't touting itself as authentic, at least make it palatable. I tried the Pad Woon Sen, and while service was fast and friendly, the food lacks flavor other than salt. The chicken used was tough and flavorless. My son ordered the Teriyaki stir fry which was so salty he had to wash it down with the extremely sweet Thai tea. Had high hopes for this new "Asian" fast food restaurant. Love this place! Their food is always good, fresh, and hot when served. You get several options to add, and they have no problem with special orders. I.E. My husband is on a special diet so he had to order his without sauce and Sautee his chicken instead of breaded. No problem for them. I order from the Tin Drum near my job in atlanta all the time and was extremely excited when I found out one was opening in the city I live in. We ordered the teriyaki chicken and the chicken low mein (both were delicious). The staff couldn't have been more nice and attentive to each customer that entered the establishment. The manager had personally came to our table to check on us and asked how everything was. We were very pleased with our dining experience, however the only reason I took 1 star off was due to the discovery that this Tin Drum and all others have removed certain items from their menu, such as the street Tacos and the mango salad (which I loved). My partner and I frequent Tin Drum about once a week or every other week and we are always 100% satisfied with the food, cleanliness, speed, quality and customer service. I always try the new dishes, today I tried the confetti bowl and it was absolutely delicious! I supplement most of my main dishes with their crab & cheese roll and that's usually what comes into the movies with me. Overall, if I could give Tin Drum a 12/10, I would!!! read more

This place has steadily moved up my list and is in pretty steady rotation for lunch. The dish I always get is called Pad Sing Men, regardless of what I called it last time. It is my first introduction to curry, and I am some kind of addict now. Today was especially delicious. It is also completely different from anything else in my experience... I have nothing to which I can compare it. Bowl and Drink runs right at $11, and if it fills me up (and it does), most people will have leftovers. I was hesitant to come to this Tin Drum while traveling but I'm glad I did. I used to be a big fan of the franchise and went to one near my home in Atlanta at least weekly. But over time I noticed that the food quality deteriorated at that location and several others. So I stopped going. The cooks at this location really take care in putting the food together. And the manager comes around to check on customer satisfaction. This is the best Tin Drum I've been to and it will become a frequent stop on my trips to Newnan. read more

Been curious to try Tin Drum since it opened- finally did so this evening. Positives- The staff prepared the food quickly. Waited less than five minutes for an order or chicken lettuce wraps and the small salad. The vegetables were fresh and crisp - this area is notorious for bad salads so this was great. No wilted lettuce or unripe produce. The veggies in the salad were chopped into bite sized pieces- no need for a knife. The chicken in the lettuce wraps was cooked perfectly- white meat only, also cut into very manageable pieces (no knife needed again). The not-so-great - the vinaigrette was inedible. Cloyingly sweet and oddly sour simultaneously - not in a good way. The sauce for the lettuce wraps was also overly sweet. Menu described it as "brown sauce", which it was, however it lacked any real flavor aside from sweet. The chicken was drenched in it. I hoped for some heat, maybe a punch of ginger and shallot. The slice of lime meant for squeezing was rock-solid and yielded no juice when I squeezed. I combined the undressed salad with the chicken wrap filling. The leaves of fresh cilantro from the salad saved the dish. I would not order the wraps again. Tin Drum touts itself as an "Asian Kitchen". The flavors were definitely more American, lacking the punch that authentic Asian food contains. Was hoping that this would not be the case - there are more than enough Americanized Asian places out there. The restaurant was clean, the food was fresh - I would go back and try something else. read more

My family dined here tonight via carryout. The food was AMAZING! And that's coming from a professional chef. The Coconut Soup is a great starter and I went with the Panang with Shrimp. A curry based broth with lovely vegetables and a nice bit of heat. The rest of the family ordered the Tikka Masala with steak and another ordered the Sing Chow Men which is reminiscent of Mei Fun. We noticed the place passing by on our way to the movie theater. The food is tasty and delicious, the different combinations interesting and the ingredients are good. The food is great, but don't use Grubhub because they will continuously push your order back. Four times in a row, food should arrive in 30-40 minutes, and it arrived an hour and a half later. They say that it has to do with the drivers, but you can track when it leaves the store. It is simply not being made at the time it is promised. It is the only place in Newnan that has this consistent problem with delivery. With work, I can't visit in person. For these ratings my 5 star rating is now down to 3 stars. read more
