It's located right in the middle of downtown Windermere which is conveniently located whether you're getting breakfast, going for a walk, or visiting the local farmer's market. On this particular occasion, we were just popping through and decided to stop. We came in and at this point, it wasn't super busy. Normally, when we are here - they have events, food trucks, and tons of local families enjoying their day. Today was different. We went in the back and took a seat at one of the picnic tables. They have an amazing outdoor seating area covered by a massive white tent to keep you out of the Florida heat. Their are fans blowing to keep you cool as well. The staff is super helpful in choosing beers and they always have a great selection on tap. Highly recommend the laid back vibes for a quaint afternoon with your friends. Alex, the No. 1 bartender/server, did another A-1 job and introduced us to some great 2018 Guglielmo red wines. A new bartender/server, Crystal, assisted Alex and she is another jewel in the crown of this establishment. We again selected the Prosciutto wrapped Dates and the Bruschetta, which are two of our favorites. We added the Pear & Gorgonzola Flatbread to our appetizer list this time and loved it! The combination of cheese and fruit was a savory experience for the palate. It was so good, we added it to our "favorites" list. We split the dinner special of the evening, which consisted of two crab cakes, asparagus and roasted potatoes. I haven't had crab cakes this good anywhere outside Maryland! We ended the night splitting the Mississippi Mud Pie. (Delicious and went very well with the Cabernet!) On this night, they had a guitarist and singer named Joe Lamy who added just the right touch to the evening. He also came over to talk to us during his break. Overall, another 5 star night at a 5 star bistro establishment!

There are very few stores that can derail my self control in under five minutes, and World Market…read moreis absolutely one of them. The moment I walk through those doors, I am no longer a disciplined adult with a budget. I am on a treasure hunt. I have visited locations all over California and Florida, and every time I go, I have to mentally prepare myself. Part of me wishes there were one closer to where I live now, and part of me knows that is probably for my own financial protection because I would absolutely be there constantly. The international food section alone is enough to keep me wandering the aisles for an hour. After traveling through Europe, Asia, South America, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean, there is something deeply satisfying about seeing specialty items from all over the world sitting right there on the shelf. No ordering online. No waiting for deliveries. No hoping the packaging survives shipping. Just reach out and grab it. It makes recreating flavors from past travels so much easier and far more fun. Then there is the furniture and décor. It is eclectic, global, colorful, and usually visually light. You are not going to find heavy, dark, traditional pieces anchoring a formal estate here. Instead, you get carved wood, woven textures, interesting silhouettes, and pieces that feel like they came from somewhere with a story attached. I gravitate toward the exotic details every single time. One of my favorite finds ever was a carved wooden fruit bowl with a sculpted handle on top and a completely unique design. It felt like something you would stumble upon in a market overseas and then carefully carry home in your suitcase. I also have a personal weakness for anything featuring lions, tigers, or leopards, so I always keep my eye out for those motifs when I am there. It is a dangerous game. There are so many things in that store that I have to start curbing my enthusiasm before I even walk through the door. Otherwise, I will convince myself that I absolutely need half the place. World Market is not just shopping for me. It is a treasure hunt with serious temptation attached.

The drink was good with some spices, but instead of a craft ice, they just used regular crushed ice, making the drink a bit watered down. For my food, they sadly no longer had the duck noodles, so I tried the CKT noodles (15 dollars) instead. They mentioned it would have a smokey flavor from the wok preparation, which I enjoyed. However, the noodles were quite chewy. The meats included shrimp, pork sausage, and chicken. The chicken and shrimp were enjoyable, but the sausage could have used a bit of a punch. I was able to get some sambal for heat, but it lacked flavor and it was a bit gritty too. At least there was an ample amount such that I could take some home for the next day. My server was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was the same. I did enjoy the audible music and crowd, making the vibe nice. I would definitely come back if the bring the duck noodles again, and maybe try another drink next time too. Overall: B-
