I've used them a lot in the past for getting keys cut, they do the fancy coloured metal keys with patterns on, so as time has gone by, I have replaced all my boring silver keys for these colourful interesting looking ones. They also do engraving, for the likes of name badges for your dog/cat, to signs for your door, and the prices are pretty reasonable. I have only used them once for their shoe repairs, which is their mainstay. I'd bought myself a pair of boots, and when I tried them on in the shop, I knew they would be a bit slippy and not wanting to take any risks, I took them round to Timpson's as it was the nearest place, and asked them if they would put non slip soles on them for me. That was no problem, and they asked me to call back for them later that day. I duly went about the rest of my shopping, and did the other few errands I had to do that day before calling back to collect them, only to find that one of the boots was really badly scuffed, and when I pointed it out to the guy who served me, he denied all knowledge, so needless to say, not impressed with that side of the business!

I am disabled and depend on mobility scooter to get anywhere out of the house. My husband decided to get a spare key cutcut since we only had one. Unfortunately, he lost the the original on the way to the shop. He was really upset and went out searching for it coming home to search the house. He couldn't find it anywhere. The gentleman from speedy shoes actually went out and searched the mall and found it! I really can not thank him enough. He also cut a second key, which fit perfectly, and cost considerably less than buying a replacement key online...which we had tried before and got a key that did not work. Thank you so much!

Of course, the Kennedy Centre now has a Poundland store (whose seemingly inexorable rise and expansion is becoming something of a phenomenon) and a few other big names which, it is hoped, will bring footfall back to its former levels (I don't see that happening). Anyway, I haven't had any shoes repaired - I'm not sure how many people still get shoes repaired, although I know that women getting boots re-heeled is still a steady business - but I was in here to get a key cut. It was costing about £2.80 to get the key cut and, as the guy was cutting the key, I realised we'd be needing a few more keys in the coming months, so I asked him if he'd do four for a tenner, which he did. OK so it wasn't a huge saving, but I like places like that that will give you a bit of discount if you brassneck it. The keys were done in a matter of minutes and I was on my way. They weren't wrong about the 'speedy' bit.
