He…read morethoroughly examined me when he first saw me and when he last saw me in the hospital, administered a nerve-conduction study, and ordered two MRIs in an effort to determine what caused my fall, which I attributed to a buckling leg. When these tests did not reveal the cause(s) of my problem, he ordered specialized blood tests. While his thoroughness impressed me positively, what I valued the most was his concern and his kindness. I will see him in his office for follow up. I consider myself fortunate to have had him as my neurologist while I was hospitalized and after I left the hospital.

Referred to Dr. Tsao for some issues related to other issues which are related to even more issues, I was nervous about my meet and greet. I was surprised to find an immediate feeling of ease and trust in his presence. He's playful, yet respectful. Funny, yet thorough. I couldn't believe it when he had actually read my chart (s) (s) (s).........so many charts. He was prepared for my meeting with him, listened to my "let me start from the beginning," and was patient as he performed several not so pleasant tests which I passed and failed throughout the appointment. I had expected to have a more invasive procedure scheduled at a later date, yet he felt (upon my failures) I should just get them done right then, right there. Undergoing a procedure I will refer to as the Shawshank Special (do you know you tinkle your pants when you're being tased?), he kept me calm and distracted with humorous anecdotes from his med school days (which were probably last year because I swear he looks 15 at most). If you're looking for a neurologist that will actually read your history, listen to you for a long time, spend a quality amount of time with you, create a safe space for you to unload your frustrations with your ailments, then Dr. Tsao is for you!

We had to walk to the pain hospital to get to the clinic. We checked in which was pleasantly easy. I was added to the list to be updated via text message of hubby's procedure, which I appreciated. There were plenty of seats, including seats for those with thick thighs. I was updated of every step and then when he was in recovery, the nurse came and got me. I asked did they validate parking, but as a incentive they gave me a free parking pass because of the delay, which was top tier. I was advised where to go and pull up to pick up hubby once I got my car. Thankfully there was an attendant to help with getting out.

I really shouldn't even give this doctor 1 star but I think you are required to give a star. I was…read morereferred to him by my ENT whom I had been seeing for labyrinthitis, an inner ear inflammation which has caused me several episodes of severe dizziness. I had to wait 1 month for the appointment. I was emailed an extensive information packet to complete before my appointment. It was the most poorly designed, redundant and invasive questionnaire I've ever filled out, asking for my SSN in two places, which is not only unnecessary but unethical. The office is located in a very upscale professional building attached to Greater Baltimore Medical Center, a major area hosptial. However, the office itself was very down-scale, with no other patients in the waiting area. I was asked to pay my $30 co-pay in cash or check. I didn't have either as I rarely use cash and always pay my doctor's with credit card. I was informed that their payment policy was stated in the information packet and that's why they send it out in advance. I offered to send them a check as soon as I got home, to which the secretary said she would have to check with the doctor. The doctor then came out and reiterated the same payment policies stated by the secretary. He informed me that there was an ATM in the lobby and I could get cash there. I asked him why he wouldn't take a check and he said "I've been stiffed by people in the past." Isn't that what insurance is for, both primary care insurance and the physician's own insurance? He was completely unyielding on this matter, as well as rude and unprofessional. At this point, I began to reel off my own disatisfactions up to that point: the poorly designed info pack, the payment policies and the fact that he was running a medical practice as though it were a corner grocery store in a bad part of town. He asked me to please leave or he would call security. I asked him for what reason and he said because I was being "extremely unpleasant." At that point, I just left. I would not recommend this doctor under any circrumstances as I would simply not trust my health care, especially with regard to neurology, to someone who possesses this type of archaic mentality. I can't believe that in this day and age anyone would run a medical practice in this manner.
