If you run or bike, this is the trail you want! This section is smack in the middle of downtown Greenville. It's very much similar to the Beltline and Silver Comet Trail in Atlanta. If you start from this section and head away from the city, you'll eventually get to parts of the trail where you don't have to worry about cars. Pros: - there's a children's park at this section - rubberized side section of the trail for 1/3 of a mile - great scenery (runs beside a creek, hits a big green space area, has some shops right off the trail about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile down heading away from city) - fairly flat - wide enough for runners and cyclists Cons: - no bathrooms (the green space further down has a bathroom but it's not opened yet) - first 2 miles do hit intersections where you'll need to be cognizant of cars - no quarter mile markers or markers in general Overall, it's the perfect spot to get most types of runs in (long, tempo, easy). They did not follow proper etiquette by announcing their arrival or ringing a bell. They even passed on both sides of me and my little dog almost hitting us within inches! Then laughed! How RUDE! I will find another quieter trail since obviously not all cyclists are courteous!

Guided Rides - Our guide Josh managed to make it all work perfect; for a mom who is truly a mountain biking beginner, the dad who seems to be able to handle anything and the son who really enjoys a challenge. My point is, they happily accommodate all skills levels. Rental Bike options - it's only first class here with beautifully equipped new Yeti bikes, you will leave wanting one of these babies for sure! Plenty of choices for all rider types/sizes/etc... Location - The Bike Farm is easy to find just outside Asheville proper then a short trip to unbelievable trail options. Your guide will discuss what you want to do, then plan the route accordingly. We originally chose one day then added a second because we just couldn't get enough. If we could have stayed longer, we definitely would have. We took this trip to have an escape and enjoy the outdoors and couldn't be happier that we chose The Bike Farm. When we return to NC, without a doubt we will book again.

The space has the bones of an old auto shop turned neighborhood coffee meetup spot: industrial, unfussy, outdoorsy. The service is classic coffee shop friendliness. There's plenty of bar seating plus larger tables, so it works equally well for grabbing coffee solo, meeting up with friends, or camping out (get it?) for a study/work session. Trust me (or don't): The house-made waffles are the main character. Hands down some of the best I've had!! The texture is spot-on, with that perfect consistency that holds up under the toppings instead of turning into a soggy carb sponge. They absolutely nail the waffle-to-topping ratio as every bite gets a little waffle, fruit, and topping without the whole thing collapsing. I also loved that ordering "for here" actually means for here; your food and drinks come on real dishes instead of disposable everything. It's a small detail, but it makes perfect sense for an outdoorsy, sustainability-minded brand so the whole experience feel more intentional. Mountain Goat is the kind of place that feels distinctly Greenville while bringing a little PNW energy to the Upstate. Don't leave without getting a waffle.

We stopped in to go hiking because Asheville is known for their hike so we went hiking through the woods looking at the animals seeing the trees it is exploring a big fan of exploring trying to get my family to enjoy it as much as I can but it's tough at times. This is a great place to go if you're in Asheville and don't have all day to spend driving to a…read morelocation and doing a hike. It's located just off Brevard Road in South West Asheville. There are a bunch of different hiking and biking trails that twist and turn through this area. There is also a campground located here and a small lake to walk around, or swim in during the warm month. The hiking trails are well maintained and easy to navigate. You could definitely get lost in here if you weren't paying attention, but trails are blazed and marked well. You can park at any of the little parking lots and just jump on a trail and start walking. Trails are marked for hiking or biking so if you prefer to hike on a trail with no bikers, look for one marked as so. These trails can get pretty busy on weekends and summer but for good reason. They are easily accessible from Asheville and are a nice getaway. I love spending a day here just wandering the trails. The only reason I give Bent Creek 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are no big views or waterfalls. That's OK though, still a great place!
