I've used Vcars Bristol a lot over few months for work and the fixed pricing has been great my only…read moreissue within the last 24 hours has been I've asked for a 5 seater on the app and been sent 2 cars both wanting the same fare over despite whilst advertise you can request a 6 seeter 1 car but yet 2 come then when your taxi comes like last night the taxi driver is rude moment you get into his car then starts demandung money up front or he wont drive then today booked on mobile app and it said one price then when you get to your destination he trys adding more on to the price and blames it on a admin issue dispite showing him a screenshot of the booking my advice to anyone be wary not all drivers are like this but I've had a few trying to pull wool over my eyes but yet I've done the same journeys day in day out. Advice for the company if you don't want customers to use other company's maybe try sorting out the bad drivers.

Finally, the taxi service we've all been waiting for!…read more I recently had a handy Vcars fridge magnet posted through my door, which I instantly put on the fridge, then went to consult it a few days later when I needed a taxi. The thing that sets them apart from every other taxi service is that it you take a minute or two to register on their website you can select 5 of your top places - like Home, Work, Pub, etc which are each assigned a number from 1-5, then when you need a taxi you call their automated service and just tell them where you are via your corresponding number, and bob's your uncle - they'll be with you shortly! This can be really handy of an evening and your trying to book a taxi but the music's to loud and they can't hear where you are but it's too cold to go outside!

I actually found out about this charity from Yelp! I was having a browse one day, spotted it as a…read morefriend of mine has already reviewed it, then decided to check it out! Sustrans is all about finding SUStainable TRANSport, and focus not only on the environmental affects but also our own personal health choices. Now, Bristol is meant to be Britain's first cycling city, with all the bliming hills I'm not sure who thought that was a good idea but Sustrans, and organisations like them, are trying to make it work. If your already a fan of the bike then the can offer lots of usual tips and have an online shop with reasonably priced accessories.

Bristol is not a particularly cyclist friendly city. Sustrans, a charity focused on promoting…read morecycling based in the city, have done some great things to help out cyclists, but a few major problems remain. Firstly, it's ridiculously hilly. Cycling to somewhere like Lawrance Weston from the Cotham (I pick the route as it's one I've had to do for the last couple of weeks) is a thirty minute endurance test involving not one but two uber steep hills. There isn't too much Sustrans can do about this though. The second major problem is that whilst there are some excellent cycle lanes in the city, there are all too many that seem to have been designed with minimal thought put into it. My particular favourite is the lane running along Cumberland Basin, with car lanes either side, that just peters out unexpectedly. Glourious! I've always wanted to be marooned in the middle of a dual carriage! Sustrans seeks to solve problems like this, building attractive, safe routes to make cycling a viable option for more people. With the health, cost, and environmental benefits of cycling (I can see you all going cross-eyed as I creep into cyclist evangelist mode) they're clearly a worth cause.

Told them each time that we have a bike…read more -took about fifteen minutes each to arrive. -got denied.. twice, by two different taxis for having a bike that would obviously fit at the boot of the car (they were both minivans) even though my husband dismantled the bike so it would fit perfectly. -in the end; went with UBER. (They came promptly as they always do and we had no problems with the bike) -never calling CALLCARS again -wanted to call the independent taxi company cause thought we were doing a good thing by giving them more business since they're competing with uber. But after this experience, I completely understand why uber is the leading taxi company.

0 stars out of 5. THE WORST TAXI SERVICE YOU COULD POSSIBLY IMAGINE. I used these to order a cab…read morefor my 70 year old mum and my 9 year old daughter. The driver did not know the pick up address or the drop off address. After a very difficult to communicate phone call to actually get him to the address, which was finally resolved with lots of arm waving after having to walk round the corner and half way down the hill to find him, it became apparent that he only really knew two words of English 'POST' and 'CODE'. After inputting the answer into his Sat Nav, which I saw gave him a very straightforward route to the destination - he got lost. My 9 year had to resort to giving him directions. The return journey was exactly the same, only with my 70 year mum returning looking like a drowned sewer rat as the pick up driver got lost on the way to pick them up AGAIN. WITH A SAT NAV! They were stood out in the rain waiting for 30 minutes and had to direct him back home AGAIN. Avoid at all costs.
