This is a great little shop for such a tourist information centre with Caerleon, which is around twenty to thirty minutes away from Cardiff and it is apparently in Newport. It is such a wonderful little town that I find that I almost can not believe it exists so close to Cardiff. You normally find those type of towns in or near Pembrokeshire.
It is so historic as well; and so many events are happening there all of time, all year round... Such as The Ryder Cup of this year 2010. There is a Roman Museum; a Roman Amphitheatre, Roman Baths, a Golf Club, many neat little shops, restaurants and cafes and lots of playing fields, hotels, bed and breakfasts Fortress Walls, Roman Catholic Church, The National Roman Legion Museum, a Town Hall, Castle Remains & Mynde Wall and many more beautiful historic places for you to have magical days out in.
Did you Know? That there is curse known live amongst the soil of Caerloen and King Arthur was said to have been here with all of his knights at the round table... What more could you ask for from such a stunning place in Wales?
The best buses from Cardiff to this place are 2A 2B 2C 2D 2E 2X and 7D run every fifteen minutes and the railway lines are a great use of means of public transport and Caerleon is only less than an hour away from Cardiff and Bristol airports.
I really do recommend you visit the Tourist information shop there which has loads of free maps and leaflets there, tasty chariatable chocolates for only £1.50p, red dragon toys, books about the place and about places nearby and heritage trail information and there is even another colourful made dragon standing near the desk, inside the shop.
It is a small and a quiet place; with one member of staff serving you and that person is very friendly, kind and chatty. It is the best building around there to get all of the information that you should need... A very useful shop for all... read more
