This heritage railway route, sometimes also referred to as Barry Island Railway, is aimed mainly at offering families an all-weather attraction, and giving rail enthusiasts the chance to travel along this historic line (some - but not all - of whom may be classed as 'train spotters').
It runs only on certain days during certain months, when it's likely to be busiest - such as on Sundays and school holidays, and for special Father Christmas-themed seasonal trips. You can download a PDF of the operating times from the Vale of Glamorgan Council's website at http://www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/idoc.ashx?docid=6bfd0def-36c0-41ff-b752-3032b6497e27&version=-1
The owners of the railway, Cambrian Transport, are planning to develop the line over coming years to offer more options for visitors. read more
