This is the biggest station in the Penarth area. It's in the Vale of Glamorgan valleys (although vale basically means valley doesn't it so my bad), and is one of many stations that serve the people who live in the suburbs of Cardiff and the towns and Villages around Cardiff.
It's only three miles from Cardiff Central, so it really is a suburb of the big C, with a cute little new looking Bridge across the double tracks and one platform on either side.
From here, trains take you to Cardiff every 15 minutes or so and it's not bad. Cogan is not closed at the moment as far as I know, despite what Yelp may say, but it's definitely not one of the most used stations by any stretch of the imagination. read more
