We came to browse on a Sunday and parked in the first lot for just $5.00 - super easy. I was pleasantly surprised by how much of the market was under cover or even indoors (which is a huge plus in July in Texas!). There's so much to see. We walked around for about 3 hours, taking a nice break inside the convention building where there's a restaurant, tables, and air conditioning - perfect for cooling off. Even though we didn't come looking for anything specific, we still ended up leaving with a few great finds. There's truly something for everyone here. There's also a large outdoor section, but the heat was a bit much this time - we'll definitely check that part out next time when it's cooler. I appreciated the number of food and drink vendors, plus plenty of bathrooms along the way. Overall, a fun and worthwhile visit! 2 days to see it all. This has to be the biggest open air market in Texas! Anything and everything…read more Lots of food, high prices, but lots of fun. Make sure you get a burger at noon. We waited till the end around 330 and they were out at some places and cash only at others. End of day no cash left. It was packed and Internet service slow to non existent. There were thousands of people and everyone trying to use Internet at once. It was difficult to purchase some things. Sunday was way more enjoyable than Saturday. Way less people Sunday. Parking $5 daily. I suggest you pay otherwise you are walking a long way for free parking. At the end of a day you put in 17,000 steps you do not want to walk a quarter mile to the car carrying stuff. If you get there early, strong 830-900 you get a shaded spot up front at the center lot.

A simpler time. With simple pleasures. Shop owners Carolyn West and Joan Hallmark bring a touch of class to the country in this shop full of Antique furniture, china, silver, lace doilies, candles, and other things that will class up your place, or make a great gift or treat for someone you care about. Even if it is not your style, they are worth checking out in Downtown Ben Wheeler.

First of all it smells divine inside and there are employees throughout the store to help you find things and to ask questions too. I love not having to look and look for an employee to ask a question to...they are just right there. But it did also make me question, "do they have a lot of thefts?" There are a lot of whites and just really classy and comfy bed linens and decor and clothes. While leaving First Monday we stopped here and glad we did, although of course I didnt buy anything. :( This is off the busy street, I believe hwy 19. When we got into the parking lot there were hundreds of dead crickets. It was a crunchy walk inside.
