My experience was TERRIBLE. IF I COULD GIVE 0 STARS I WOULD!!!! I'm only writing this review now because my eyelashes are FINALLY growing back and I recently went to a new lash studio where they did an amazing job. I went to Timeless Lashes last year in March. I told the blonde girl (I don't even remember her name and I couldn't care less to be completely honest) I was attending a wedding that weekend (This was the 16th of March a Wednesday) and asked her to do a volume set of lashes. She was extremely nice when I was there, except for the fact that she was talking about other clients TO ME. Complaining about them and how they bother her etc. etc., I thought to myself "How awful and unprofessional" but because she was treating me so kindly as I was there, I shook it off. She finished the set and let me know if I had any problems to call her, I tipped her a very good amount and I left. Later, not even 30 MINUTES WENT BY I texted her expressing how my eyelashes felt extremely thin and they weren't as dramatic and voluminous as I was hoping for. She didn't answer my texts. I figured she was busy with a client so I waited, then texted her once more before closing time. She responded RUDELY saying how I needed to stop texting her and she was with clients all day. Stop texting her? Sorry if she was unprofessional and didn't provide clients with a business phone/contact but how else was I supposed to get ahold of her??? Anyway, I ended up calling her and asking her if she had time before that weekend because if not I would try to go see someone else that could fix my eyelashes before the wedding. She said she would try to squeeze me in Thursday but would have to charge me a WHOLE FILL??? I didn't understand that but I was desperate at this point because my lashes looked like normal everyday lashes, even though i was charged $180! The next day I waited for her to text/call I didn't get anything. The next day (Friday) I texted her and again nothing. I gave up because I had to drive down to San Diego that Friday evening. She was SO rude during our phone calls and texts and now I see why she was complaining about other clients in front of me. Maybe if she would do her job right no one would call her back with complaints? That was just the service. The actual lashes were terrible. I should have known when it was painful to just brush my lashes. I couldn't even sleep comfortably because they hurt if I merely brazed them. The makeup artist that Saturday for the wedding noticed my lashes were already falling out, and that was just the beginning. Not even a week went by and they had completely came off, along with my natural lashes. It was honestly so saddening. I went to a PROFESSIONAL lash studio where they let me know I had to let my lashes grow out and tend to them and gave me a couple theories as to what the blonde woman might have done wrong to my lashes. She made my lash experience dreadful. There are so many better places to have your lashes done in the South Bay, LA, San Diego, and even in Long Beach in general. Please do your research ladies! She is your go to girl, especially for newbies like me. I got my lashes done for the first time with Marylin. She did an amazing job. To begin I was running late and she was still willing to wait for me. When I got there we discussed what I wanted and she recommended I use two types of curls, C and D I believe. We also discussed length and I told her I wanted to keep me original length since she mentioned they where already long but straight. I mentioned I wanted a natural look, and she went to work. It took about 1 hr 30 minutes, it was painless and she walked me through the process of she would be doing. Then when she was done I was thrilled by how natural they looked, she gave me some brushes for the lashes, instructions and told me to call or text if I have any questions at any point. I never have any lashes that twist or turn and when they do fall out (because of their natural cycle), I notice that it's always just one natural lash to one extension so I know that none of the lashes were applied sloppily. Do not let her beauty fool you... Be aware she is not running a clinically clean business, she never washes her hands. The office is in the back of other offices... with no bathroom. She has to walk down the hall and around the corner after every client. These are things we have to be-aware of... I witnessed her save the pads after me... I had red rashes under my eyes after one visit to her but I didn't think much of it... But it, made me aware... This was really when I started to pay more attention to the details of who I was allowing to perform my lash work... I have been getting my lashes done for many years, moved to Long Beach and decided to try closer to home, I now live in long beach, I goggled lash extensions and Marilyn had great reviews... The customer Atousa Y. she wrote a review on 9/12/2014... This lady was on point when she told us YELPER to be aware. Marilyn is not professional she shares all her clients business, talks about her personal life and other clients personal issues. And if you made her mad she probably shared it with her clients, and never calls you back again, removing you as a customer because you called her out etc... Why I know this... because she gets to comfortable with her clients and shares stories about them... I learned all this in 2 month... Just be aware... I was a loyal customer for 2 months and had to continue to keep going to her because her refills did not last 2 weeks. I admit I liked the one room service, nice little room. But If you are a mature woman, and enjoy professional environments... Go to a more upscale location. Lastly --- Your lashes will look great the 1st couple of times, but again they do not last. I imagined that the 2 hour appointment would've have either been a) awkward or b) me just sleeping for 2 hours to kill time. I really felt like I was talking to a friend for the whole 2 hours and she is so funny and personable! I've had massages and other things done at different places where I just sit there wanting time to go by faster, but with Marilyn it was so comfortable and she will sit there and listen to all your problems or stories while casually talking back like we've known eachother for a while now haha The whole process was pain free and when she was done, they looked gorgeous! Even after 2.5 weeks when I went in to get my next fill, I still had alot of lashes left! That's how great she is! The few lashes that did shed were from my natural lashes shedding on its own and I was amazed at how great her lashes stayed put because I'm not the best at taking care of these. I sleep on my stomach and this is a big no no for eyelash extensions, but even through this the lashes were still there every morning :) She will ask you what kind of look you're looking for and show you the different lash sizes and accomodate to your needs! She knows exactly what's best for your particular lash (size, weight, length) which is important because if it's not the correct size then it can cause damage to your natural lash. She's friendly, knowledgeable and professional. And I just love her little office; it has a personal, one on one, cozy feel. I've never felt uncomfortable or that she wasn't safe. It's also important to remember that you have to take care of your lashes. You can't rub the hell out of your eyes or stand with your face under the hot water in the shower. No, you have to take some responsibility with your own care also. I get a fill every 2 1/2 - 3 weeks and they're still pretty full at 3 weeks.
