After moving to Morristown my husband and I were walking downtown and saw this tea room. We weren't hungry at the time so we didn't go in. I wanted to go for lunch for months! A friend and I decided to give it a try today and I'm so happy we did. My husband wouldn't go with me, saying it wasn't his "cup of tea"- pun intended. I stop there to say that, while there weren't any men eating there today, the menu can certainly satisfy anyone's craving. My husband probably would feel fine eating there if another couple went with us. I know without a doubt he would enjoy the food. My friend and I were seated at a table for two in the 2nd room, which was slightly dimmed from a lighting standpoint which gave it a nice ambiance in the midst of an already quaint atmosphere. Our server came right away and we ordered the Timeless Tea, which she said had a slight fruity taste. You could get it sweet, unsweetened or hot. We both chose iced and unsweetened. It was very tasty. I ordered one of the Tearoom specialties- Chicken Divan, which came with a green salad and Frozen Cherry. You could get any 2 sides if you chose to change them. I was intrigued by the Frozen Cherry salad so I kept the meal as listed. The frozen Cherry was very good- like a cherry gelatin with cream cheese mixed in. It was very good and not too sweet but I ate it as a dessert. The entire meal was great. The chicken divan was very hot and really delicious. I thought it might be very rich but it wasn't. It was full of chicken and broccoli and I couldn't even finish it because the dish was larger than it appeared. Did I mention that it was delicious? My friend ordered the Thursday special- grilled cheese with chips and tomato basil soup. The grilled cheese was different in that it came with bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. She got it without the lettuce and tomato and said it was delicious. A small hidden gem in the heart of Morristown. Stumbled upon this place because my friend is obsessed with tea. upon entering I didn't have very high expectations on the food but I was blown away. My food was amazing and the portions were generous. The pasta salad was delicious and my Buffalo chicken wrap was so good. Service was meh but they only had one lady waiting tables and were super busy so it's to be expected. However the gentleman at the door even tho he was running rampant greeting, cashing out, seating, clearing tables and answering phones (which was ringing off the hook) this man was so polite, had a smile on his face the entire time and never lost his cool. He's the real MVP. The prices were very responsible considering the times we are in and the portion size I'd say they $$ out $$$$$ highly recommend. I used to love coming here. Today, my group was treated terribly. We came on our lunch break and were one of the first groups there when they opened. Our server was very nice, but the owner literally sucks. We just talked the whole time we were waiting for our food, didn't ask for anything. After we waited 50 minutes for our food, we asked our waitress nicely if we could get our food to go because we had to go back to work. She was very kind and even brought us drinks to go without us asking. We just paid all together to make it easier on them. The owner was horrible from the moment we got there. The whole time my friend was paying he was shaking his head and rolling his eyes. She filled it out and the receipt barely had ink on it and she accidentally missed the signature. The owner yelled at her, leaving the restaurant silent and looking. Then talked to her like a child telling her to sign it. Proceeded shaking his head and saying rude things as we left. We tipped the lady $20 but wanted to tell him to keep his food. We will not be back, and we have been going there for years. A grown man acting like that to young women is embarrassing and he should find a new career. No wonder he only had one server working for him, I could not imagine working for someone like that and will not be giving anymore business to a man like that. read more

I was visiting Morristown for business and when I asked the guy (a native of Morristown) if he wanted to catch some lunch, he said yes. I've met other people for lunch in Morristown and I've had Buffalo Wild Wings, Mexican, BBQ, and other staples, so I assumed he'd mention one of these. Nope, he says, "Okay, I know this sounds odd, but let's go to the Tea Room. It has really good food and I eat there a lot." It was a surprising option, but I'm always game for good food and my bathroom scales can prove it. Located on Main in the heart of Morristown is the Timeless Elegance Tea Room. If you think it will be filled with tables of women meeting friends and a group of Red Hat ladies, well, you're right, but here sat 2 guys and not a single lady was offended by seeing us there. (Thank you ladies for accepting us without judgment.) I got the Timeless BLT, which came with chips, I picked a cup of squash soup as a side, and a small ginger muffin. It was incredible. The idea that the "T" in a BLT can be a fried green tomato is what separates the Tea Room from other places. Also, the sandwich wasn't some crustless, tiny thing meant to be eaten by proper southern ladies wearing white gloves. This thing was HUGE. I ate only 1/2 and was full, which isn't my usual portion (see bath scale reference above). I can't review this place without mentioning the squash soup. Get it. Even if you hate squash, get it. Even if you don't like soup, get it. Get it. Eat it. Post a thank you after you eat it. I thought it would be chunky like a stew. Nope. It is smooth and creamy and delicious. It is epic. It's been days since I ate it and I keep thinking back to it. Try it. You're welcome. The hours are limited, but worth fitting a visit into your day. You don't even have to be a lady. read more

This is the spot to eat in town. No joke. Around 11:45 the place starts filling up and a big lineup forms at the door. What? You didn't make reservations? I was lucky that the lady was sweet enough to squeeze me in before the next table arrived. Lots of love to the owners and servers for feeding the hungry traveler! Awwww! The house tea is refreshing and has some pineapple zip. Order it! The pimento cheese is the creamiest and smoothest that you'll ever have. I scraped the bowl clean. I had no idea that the restaurant was as large as it actually is. Looking in the window, it appears to have 3 or 4 tables. There is another room past the opening of the immediately visible space. Pleasantly surprised to discover this! Four of us met for lunch and it was busy without being crazy. Each of the ladies I was with had eaten here before and said I had to try the squash soup. I love soup and squash soup is in my top 3 or 4, so that was an easy sale. I got the mushroom quiche and chicken salad to round out my sampler plate. That soup was SO very good, a nice warmth from spice (curry maybe?) that wasn't at all hot, just livened up the flavor delightfully! I had seen on the menu that you could buy to-go portions of soup and waited until the end of the meal to ask our server to please add a half gallon to my bill. Sadly, they were sold out. Maybe that is for the best, because now I will have to return to lunch again and be smart enough to order the to-go soup at the start of my meal! A special iced tea, two different types of hot tea and coffee were ordered at our table. I got a small pot of my own to refill my cup and LOVE that...I hate flagging a waitress down cup by cup through a meal. The food was plentiful, but not obscene in portion size. This review won't include anything about the food since we were unable to even be seated. Here's the story: On a friend's recommendation, we drove over half an hour from a nearby town to sample this establishment. Unfortunately my husband and I arrived just shortly before 2 pm but thought we could at least try the tea and a dessert. There were 2 ladies waiting to be seated in front of us, but the harried hostess had to be reminded by another staff member to finally seat them which she did in a rather abrupt manner We waited while the hostess took payments at the register before acknowledging us. She then told us there were no cleaned tables- I replied that we would be happy to wait. Then she said that they don't seat anyone after 2pm anyway! No apology, no regret, no acknowledgement of the fact we had been standing there since before 2. So we left, never to return. The posted hours are 11am - 2:30. I'm pretty sure our tea and dessert wouldn't have caused them any delay in closing, but we'll never know. Suggest maybe a sign about no seating after 2, or change the posted hours, or change the hostess. Not a good experience. read more

Liars and thieves, Timeless Elegance Catering is nothing but a scam. The best scam artist are the most polite. After doing a tasting, we had a great experience, and the food was good. Except the mac and cheese which tasted just like Kraft. So we had decided to use them to cater my wedding. We paid 300$ to cover the tasting fee and a deposit to reserve the date. The tasting happened on October 3. So they were supposed to send us a invoice in a few days. So on October 24th we sent them a email asking if they had put a estimate together yet. On October 26 we got a reply saying they should have some stuff for use to look over in a week. After this point we didn't get contacted again till JAN 14. We tried to reach out to them in every way we could. We sent multiple emails, we called multiple times in which the regular staff said the catering people would call us soon. Our coordinator even reached out. We even visited in person, and was told that the catering staff was to busy to talk to us. So needless to say we questioned their reliability and decided to use a different caterer. So we posted some negative reviews, this prompted the best communication we ever got from them. They said they would return our deposit minus a 50$ tasting fee, in exchange they asked us to take down our reviews. So we agreed, I took down the negative reviews. Now it has been 3 months since they said they would refund our deposit. We did our part and still haven't seen a check yet. read more

Arrive early, as this place does get crowded fast! The servers are friendly and helpful with suggestions. The food is fantastic - the special on Tuesday is chicken and dumplings - to die for! The meals have eye appeal and the specialty teas are flavorful. The desserts are mediocre, at best, so I would skip them and have dessert elsewhere.
