Lot's of trouble with WiFi. Spectrum sent a new modem. Then they sent me 3 more modems. I personally returned the first duplicate and refuse shipment of next two. I called Spectrum explaining and giving them tracking numbers. I asked them to please send me an email confirmation of my calling them, they said they can't send emails, then I asked for their email address so I could verify my contact with them. They can't receive emails. Then I asked for a mailing address so I could send snail mail, they don't have a mailing address. I spoke to a supervisor - He said the same thing. I just think it's BIZARRE that I can't send them an email or letter. read more

After years of overpaying for basic cable, I decided to finally cut the cord. Arrived on a Saturday morning, ten minutes before they open and was the 8th in line! Though they opened the doors on tome, there are only 2 reps, very very slow ones, handling the store full of customers. Expect long lines even with an appointment. Tip: easiest way to cancel your account is to tell your moving out of the country to they will waste a lot of your time trying to save the account. And if you're wondering which streaming service I chose.. sling tv was my choice and better value than Hulu. You can choose the package that includes York favorite cable channels and watch it live for $25 per month vs Hulu live Tv at $45. read more

What a difference from the Broadway location! Seriously, like night and day! Which coincidentally is how long the waits are at Broadway -- all. day. long. This location, however, rarely ever has more than about 5 people waiting ahead of you. And they have a comfortable seating area with many chargers for all types of phones -- genius. Also, the employees are friendly without being overbearing (because they know we're not there to really purchase anything). Everyone knows you only go to the actual store to fix any problems you have that can't be done over the phone, aka they force you to. So, to anyone who dreads going to any TWC location (because we all do), this one actually doesn't feel like you've wasted a big chunk of your life on absolutely nothing. Untypical of the company's usual behavior, this location actually delivers good customer service, quick wait times and a clean environment. PS: the internet service still needs major work, like major major. I mean, really, how many times can you possibly need to "upgrade" and pay more before you actually get the quality you deserve? read more

I had a great experience installing the wifi for my new apartment today. When I arrived at Spectrum I only had a short wait, and when I was called on the service representative Davis was very friendly and helpful. Davis talked me through setting up my service, and when I got home it only took around 10 minutes to finish. I appreciate this any day of the week but ESPECIALLY on a holiday. Thanks :) read more

Holy crap! Compared to TWC store at Queens Center, this is PARADISE! It almost (ALMOST) makes up for the flakey internet service I experience at home! Everyone here, from the agent to the custodial staff are so sweet and friendly. Upon entering the store, you sign in on one of their two iPads by the door and your name will appear on a waitlist by the door. You're free to browse around their store, lounge on their couches, charge your phone in their outlets, use their free wifi, and tap on their huge touch screens to read up on the latest news. When it's your turn (about 5-10 min wait), they'll call your name and address ALL of your issues. The only minor complaint I can think of is their door. It needs a little grease. Everything else is perfect! The store is 1 block away from the 77th Street 6 train station and they're opened until 7pm. No need to brave the rowdy crowds at Queens Center anymore! read more

Chose to buy my own modem and returned my $10 per month leased cable modem here but continued to be charged rental fees for months!!! Rep "29E" as listed on my receipt named Salaunch (the one with ugly nose ring) took an excessive 5 minutes to do a simple task of scanning a barcode on the modem, pulling up my account and claiming to remove charge. Kept telling me I need phone service, premium channels which I insisted I didn't and was there JUST to return rental equipment, not add services and cost. Advice to anyone returning equipment or cancelling, logon to your TWC account online after leaving the store to see if changes are correct. Chances are they are not as I've had a similar experience at TWC's 23rd St store a year ago. From a browser go to https://myservices.timewarnercable.com and click on "Recent Activity" If you have the MyTWC mobile app, under the Billing section click on "Statements" then "Recent Activity" Changes appear between immediately and up to 48 hours. I did an online chat on twc.com (as pictured) and that rep lied to me also and said cable modem lease charge was removed. Only course of action was to complain to the NYC Agency that regulates cable tv. This is a review for the store, not the company. The store is spacious and mainly functions as a service center. When you enter, there are people who ask you what you need. Most people are paying, returning modems, or want to deal with some other service issues. They take your name and you can sit and wait. The people along the back will call your name once it's your turn. My wait on a Sunday mid day was about 15 minutes. I was returning a modem and it took less than 2 minutes. so far so good with spectrum at my upper east side pad that my nephew is free loading at. the customer service rep explained everything in plain english and she emailed me all the info and terms including prices and no contract to sign , no equipment to buy and i can cancel anytime . the wifi is strong , good amount of tv channels, no tech had to come to my pad as equipment was shipped to me and installation is quick and simple as long as wiring is already installed . for tv , phone, internet the total bill is under 140 clams a month and customer service is very helpful when needed. i still have verizon fios in my main pad but spectrum tv is just as good in my opinion . read more

I tried to find an email address for the company where I could report it but found nothing. They also don't mandate a "how's my driving" with accompanying phone number on the trucks. I was dreading the "you have to return your (now defective) cable box to the store" (the alternative was they'd mail me another, or a techie might come in a day or two). This East Side office is spacious, quiet, pleasant, and well-run. At 1:30pm there was only one person ahead of me, and I got service very quickly. Swapped boxes in no time. Having been to the chaotic, slow (an hour if not more) West Side location, this IS, as Jing X. mentioned, PARADISE! Thanks, Time Warner. Phone support has been very good, the store is painless, and most of the technicians who've come to install or deal with a baffling wire problem or whatever have been friendly and knowledgable. read more

This review is for service in the Yorkville / UES area, not the store. When Spectrum bought Time Warner, we were hoping for better Internet service, or at least some improvement. Of course, the infrastructure in buildings and neighborhoods takes time to upgrade, but the new Spectrum has some SERIOUS downsides. Service reps' professionalism - 10 of 10 Infrastructure maintenance & upgrades - 2 of 10 Technicians' skills - 8 of 10 for tech skills, 2 of 10 for common sense and communication If there are ANY alternatives for Internet service in your area, I would go with ANY other company. Spectrum's customer service company policy states that if you get disconnected, they can call you back ONE TIME, but that's it. Seriously? That's your customer service policy? If you do not call each and every time you have a service disconnection, you will not get any credit back for your service being down. That's what my very nice rep Ian told me. Also, the techs told me that some routers they install are newer and more reliable, and some are older. But Spectrum wants the older routers used up anyways because it saves Spectrum money. If you get an older router that goes out, you will have to spend time to schedule an appointment to get it replaced. You need to demand new equipment - hopefully they won't lie and give you outdated tech gear. In Nov. 2017, the Internet service disruptions were too frequent and unbearable to work from home. These issues go beyond what you can fix yourself by resetting the power to reboot your box repeatedly. So I called in for service, and they told me that it was a wire issue, running up to the rooftop to the routers there. The first technician was very nice but could not access the rooftop (locked door w alarm), so I had to reschedule with Spectrum and schedule a time with my super to get the rooftop door left open for the 2nd tech. The 2nd tech fixed my apartment's problem but said he noticed that there are 3-4 routers on the rooftop, one in each corner, and the one serving my apartment (plus ~1/4 of the other apartments) is not functioning well and NOT giving us the advertised Internet speed that we're paying for. Very well knowing that nobody can access the rooftop without scheduling for the super to keep it open on a certain day, he told me not to worry about it and that he would send other tech to fix it. (How about using some common sense to schedule things with me like you just did for yourself, and not waste another useless tech visit, which also costs Spectrum money?) Sure enough, another tech showed up unannounced on a weekday, disrupting my work day, and I had to turn him away bc we didn't schedule rooftop access. Soon, cold weather and snow hit, and I felt badly requesting techs to go out in the freezing cold to fix the rooftop router. Fast forward to last night - Internet service was intermittent YET again, so I called and found there was a neighborhood outage. I followed up on the rooftop access issue again, and they told me that this is handled by ANOTHER "Construction" department, and that it would take *7 to 10 business days* for someone to respond to this. Had I known, I would have called back in November and sent someone out onto the rooftop...freezing or not! After spending more than an hour on the phone this Sunday morning (and standing outside in the rain, the only place I get cell reception) to get a more immediate response, I'm getting a credit back of $2.09 for my time wasted and downed service in the past 12 hours, and a nice lady called me back 3x to confirm another rooftop appointment for 2 weeks out. My service request should be prioritized, since it's for the sake of multiple customers and YOUR company infrastructure, not just me. I hope it works out, since we're all paying for Internet speeds that we ARE NOT getting...not to mention just basic connectivity in New York City on the Upper East Side. I badly need land line service too, since I can't use my cell service inside my apartment, but I balk at giving Spectrum Time Warner any more money than I already have to. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for ANY other alternative Internet service! Where's the competition? I'll update this review as needed. read more

Do not sign up for TWC Spectrum! After my TWC bill went up 20% in one month, I changed to their new Spectrum service. BIG mistake! Instead of one DVR for all TVs, we now have one box per TV. You can't record on one and watch on another TV, which you could with TWC. You can only record two shows at one time, and if you are recording two, you can't watch a different one. Also, the set shuts off at anytime to 'reboot,' for what reason no one know. Spectrum is going BACKWARD not forward. And...channels that were once free, e.g., Cooking, TCM, are now pay channels. Really, even CLOO is pay?? Spectrum is full of bunk--it's not a new modern service, it's an old, backward, cheap one. Time to contact Verizon... read more

Alexis is the best! After having spent an hour on the phone earlier with a different representative, I went into the 3rd ave. location to exchange equiptment and confirm my bill. Alexis pointed out the bill had not been sorted as the earlier representative had indicated and to her credit, spent the next 10 minutes reworking my new contract to reflect what was originally promised and more! (She included the new enhanced DVR) All in all this was a really good experience. This particular branch is bright, very nicely maintained and filled with helpful, smart staff. The amount of time saved, considering I was going to be getting a wildly different bill (with loss of services promised) the next month, is incalculable. Thank you so much Alexis. 5 stars purely because Rivarol Pierre and Charles L. are the most helpful store associates from any store ever. I walked in crabby after talking to 19 different phone customer service people over the span of a month to remove 4 DVR boxes from a business account and return the boxes to a store when our account executive did not respond to our requests. After a 2 hour long tumultuous process with lots of confusion on the Spectrum end (their phone associates are perpetually unhelpful), Pierre and Charles were able to do something and receive my DVR boxes. This store is nice, I had a pleasant experience the one time i went in there. However the service as a whole and the quality of the modem and router is probably the worst I have every used. My internet constantly drops and I can never get a good connection even when I'm two feet from it. I have called for help multiple times and there answer is to reset the modem which I have to do once a day. I work in the computer networking world and I would never get anything from them if I didn't have to. Unfortunately my building does not have Verizon so I have to suffer through this horrid product. read more

I called customer service phone # to create account for my home internet. 30 mins later i called back for some questions and Spectrum customer service agent transferred my call 5 times to get someone help me. they all told me hold on to transfer to other agent who can handle my account. finally someone can help me, but i got so upset about service so i just told them cancel my account and im now having my internet plan from Verizon FiOS and very happy about Verizon service. anyone see my review don't even bother to think about spectrum. read more

Aside from the lady screaming at the employees in the store upon my arrival, I had a pleasant experience. Jasmine helped me very much. Even though I couldn't return my equipment due to miscommunication between my roommate and the customer service, Jasmine told me exactly what to do and how to handle the situation. And once it is all cleared up, that she would be happy to help me when I return to the store. The other employees seemed very calm and handled things professionally. The space was clean and not too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. An amazing feat of strength to have canceled an installation 3 times as I wait in my apartment with no cable or internet during the middle of my work day only for no technician to stop by. If my area allowed anything else for internet, I would never use spectrum under any circumstances. I then had to physically come into this store, wait another hour, then physically be handed the materials to cab back to my apartment with materials in hand. Consistently terrible all around. I had the LOVELIEST experience at this Spectrum store. I just moved to the neightborhood and because of Covid I was sent a self install kit without a router. I ran to this store with only 10 minutes left until closing. I was helped by Collin who was super helpful and fast at getting me what I needed and took the time to explain everything. Im also wishing I got the name of the guy who was holding to the door for everyone coming in and out, managing the line outside in order to keep people safely distant and happy. All in all, on a very stressful move-in day, these guys made my life a whole lot easier. read more

I love that I'm a trendsetter not only for being the first to write a review for Time Warner Cable's new UES store but also for being able to RAVE about their service. That's right folks, this Time Warner team is the twenty first century Avis: They are trying harder. Our building was having a terrible time with our Verizon phone service and figured we'd see what TWC had to offer. The store is open seven days a week so we didn't have to deal with some disembodied 800 number. Instead, they provided us with a personal contact who took us through all of our options, demoed features, and answered follow up questions both in person and via email. We learned that customer calls are managed over Time Warner Cable's private IP network so they never touch the public Internet, which had been a concern. We got clear phone service at a much better rate. Additionally, TWC has an app that lets you easily forward your calls to your cellphone in the event of an emergency or blackout. (Verizon gives you a few hours of batter backup. What kind of emergency lasts just a few hours???) We also learned about the app that lets us take our TV channels on the road. A bonus for having a real conversation with a real person. read more
