Fantastic owners and great customer service. They really try to make every visit fun, exciting, and successful. That means different things to different groups, and they seem to recognize and cater to what people need for a good experience. The VR experience is novel and allows scenarios that aren't possible in a "real" escape room. Throwing objects around in zero gravity, for example, was a blast. While I definitely prefer physical props and locks, I would do a VR game again. I believe all of the physical rooms and scenarios are developed and built by the owners. Of these, we've only tried the One if by Land room, and it was a small but very nicely built set. This room is less dependent on mechanical puzzles and instead relies heavily on logic, codes, and ciphers. It played like an epic game of EXIT, the series of at-home tabletop escape games. Our group enjoyed it, and I'd love to try some of their other rooms to see how diverse their puzzling repertoire is. read more

On vacation from Ontario, Canada. Saw this location posted a deal on Groupon. They honoured the price and we went to try the Western Room. It was only my partner and I, and the room can have many more people play, but we are avid escapees and thought we'd take a nab at it. The customer service was great. We didn't feel rushed to get into the room and had a nice chat after the escape. We did manage to get out (but we needed one extra minute...). You can have unlimited clues, but we didn't use many. I think two? The room was good for two people who have escaped other scenarios before. Clean place. Lockers. Bathrooms. Service with a smile. We will be going back again before we return to Canada. I did a VR escape room down in Fort Lauderdale the night before and had to bring my friends who lived up here to check it out. We did the space one and the underwater one. We absolutely LOVE coming here. We have been here 4 times now. They remembered us when we called to book a room. We did the dinosaur room first and almost escaped. (We were out of shape lol) then right after we did the tower of Dragons virtual reality room and man let me tell you, that was SO MUCH FUN!! It was so cool to solve clues in a different way with a headset on and "gloves" so different than a regular escape room but equally fun and exciting. We did "the wild west" room which we were told was a difficult rating of about a 7 out of 10 it was definitely challenging but we managed to escape with 1:30 left on the clock. This was our very first escape room and we had a great time. We have nothing to compare it to but I can say that the staff was friendly and helpful, the room (we did Dinosaurs) felt clean, and I appreciated that they were open earlier in the day ( some places I looked at don't open until 5pm). Me and my friends have done our fair share of escape rooms and are always looking for a new challenge. We heard Time Travel was in the area and decided to give it a shot. We did the Salem Gallows Hill room, which is listed as "moderately challenging". The atmosphere of the room was neat and certain puzzles were cool to solve, however me and my friends left rather frustrated. Because we have done a fair amount of rooms varying in difficulty we have a sense about how the flow of a room should go. Taking into consideration all rooms are different, we felt as though the clues lead you on a wild goose chase only to make no sense or had a very distant relation to the puzzle. Although we got out and mostly enjoyed our time we still had that sense of frustration due to the convoluted clues and puzzles read more

My family are escape room junkies. 40+ room in the last 6 months. Time Travel Escapes has to be my all time favorite location. The owners Joann and Brian are so welcoming, friendly and just plain awesomely cool people. The rooms are very immersive. The decor and theme of the rooms are done excellent. They use temperature, sight, smell and hearing. The puzzles are engaging. If you have done some escape rooms before you know that sometimes the rooms have puzzles just to have puzzles. TTE does not have this issue. We did two rooms back to back and booked more before we even left! read more

We just left Time Travel Escape and it was an amazing time! I had never done one of these before but the rest of my group were veterans and it was SO much fun! The owners were so kind and accommodating and stayed open late so we could complete 2 rooms when they certainly didn't have to and never made us feel like a burden. We did the Dinosaur and Vikings room and each were very detailed and entailed multiple rooms, terrains and levels. I had nothing to compare it to but the other people in my group said that they hadn't been to a place like it. They just opened a new room and developing an additional one. Absolutely GREAT experience. We have been to a fair amount of escape rooms and sometimes it's like just solving puzzles in a closet. The atmosphere was AMAZING. We did the dinosaur room and artwork and decoration was killer, the puzzles were interesting and unique. I also really liked the way the clues were given. This was our first time to experience an escape room and we are definitely coming back to TTE. Before we arrived, we had called to ask a few questions and the owner answered our call and was friendly and helpful. When we arrived we were also greeted by the owner and given a tutorial about how it all works. My husband and I had signed up for the Wild West Showdown room which is recommended for novice players. It was challenging and fun and we can't wait to go back and attempt the Paul Revere room and the Ancient Rome room. What a great time!! These rooms are very well thought out and the decor is amazing!! My favorite part was when we thought we were close to figuring everything out, we ended up finding a key to unlock another room. It was like a two-fer!! The owners really love creating these challenges and it shows. We did the Wild West room for our 9 year son's B'day and his 8 year old friend. Of course there's no way the younger boys would have gotten out without our help but they had a blast. These rooms are definitely family friendly, challenging enough to make you scratch your head a few times (and had me standing there ready to ask for a clue) and fun for all ages. We have been to several room escapes from Orlando to West Palm Beach and this one is bar far my favorite. If they decide to do a spooky room, I'll be the first one to try it out (love the spooky rooms). I highly recommend this room escape!! read more

I don't usually write reviews but I know this is a new business in the North county area so I'd like to let others know what a fun form of entertainment this can be. It's fun to do something different and bond with each other while trying to solve your mission. The clues were great and challenging. The owners were super nice and helpful. The wild west room was challenging and a lot of fun for our group of family and friends. They even had cowboy hats and bandannas for us to use to dress up if you wanted to. This was our first time coming here and we did the Wild West room. It was so much fun! My husband and I have done many other escape rooms in the past and the difficulty of this one was on par with the other "higher level" rooms we've done before. We love a good challenge and this room made our whole team work together to find the answers. I've played escape rooms all over the state all ranging in difficulty. I played the "Outlaws" room here, & it was one of the most frustrating, boring rooms i've ever played. I was told it was their entry level room, so I knew it was going to be an easy room. However, this room was extremely frustrating. There's a difference between a challenging room & a frustrating room. A challenging room is hard because the puzzles make you think, but they make sense once you figure it out. In a frustrating room, the puzzles make you agitated while you're trying to solve them because they make no sense, even after you figure it out. The "Outlaws" room was beyond frustrating. Let me explain: the puzzles did not make any sense to my sister & I. If you find a color coded 4 digit code, & you have a 4 digit color coded lock on a box, wouldn't you enter the color coded 4 digit code into the color lock? makes sense right? well, that's not how things work here. That's just one example, I don't want to spoil the room so I don't want to give any more examples, but there were 3-4 puzzles that made no sense like that. We felt like we were just guessing at some point. Something else that made us extremely agitated was the fact that you needed to have some background knowledge before doing this room. Escape rooms should NEVER require a person to have any background knowledge before doing a room. If there's a question being asked as a puzzle in the room, then the answer should be written somewhere inside the room. But there was a question in this room & we didn't know the answer, so we asked the game master for a clue. She asked us if we knew information about a particular topic prior to doing the room & we said no, so then she just gave us the answer. You're supposed to find the answers in an escape room, not already know it beforehand or have it given to you because it wasn't anywhere in the room to be found. I was very disappointed. I understand it's an entry level room so there wasn't a lot of technology, but the whole game was just find a 4 digit code, open a box. Oh look you found another key, go open another box. It was lock after lock after lock. I was bored within the first 10 mins. The room was not very immersive and it was basically just a room with posters on the wall, a couple tables, & a bunch of boxes with locks. I know the owner wanted to keep the room true to its time era, so why were we given a tablet to write on if we were supposed to be in the 1800's? I also had trouble seeing because one of the locks was in a corner and it was pretty dark, but we weren't given any flashlights. So I had to pull the curtain back & let the sunlight in. That ruined the very little immersion that we actually did have, but I had to do it because I couldn't see. I gave a 2 star review because the staff was friendly, but the rooms are not worth the $40 my sister & I spent. That was my original review. Then the owner decided to text me & harass me begging me to change my review. So I decided to lower the rating to a 1 star review. This is so inappropriate to text a customer on their personal cell phone asking them to change their review. I'm entitled to my opinion & the whole point of a review is to share your experience with others. If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. I had no problems with the staff until she decided to be unprofessional. In our text thread, the owner pointed out that I actually did not need any background knowledge & that the answer was written in the room. So I ask, why didn't she tell us that when we asked for a clue? My sister & I asked for a clue & she asked us if we had prior knowledge about a certain topic. We said "no" & then she gave us the answer. She didn't tell us the answer is written anywhere in the room. So I would like to add that the game mastering was not well. Game masters are supposed to help guide people in the right direction, not just give answers. Like I said, I've played many rooms. I've never had a game master just give me the answer like that, that defeats the whole purpose of an escape room. This whole situation was just really unprofessional, and it was a bad experience for my sister and I. read more

We did the One If By Land room with 8 people. The room setup was very cool. We've been to other escape places before and this way my favorite by far. We had a mix of experienced and inexperienced players and everyone contributed something. This was moderately challenging. We didn't ask for any hints but were redirected by the owners to a missed lock as we got close to the end. The owners are super friendly. While we waited for everyone to arrive, we worked on some fun puzzles in the lobby. I did find 8 people to be a little crowded but it didn't hurt the fun. My ideal would have been 4-5 people for this room but maybe we are all just gigantic! . Go try a room here - you will love it! read more
