It was busy, so you could tell that it is a popular spot. It is set on the river that runs through the village so you can enjoy your breakfast while the water slowly flows by you. This area and the cafe are beautiful. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. Even though they were very busy, they showed no signs of being annoyed or overwhelmed. They seemed genuinely happy you were there and eager to make sure you were happy with your stay. We ordered the sausage rolls and a Cornish pastry and they were very good. I'm sure there are a lot of amazing restaurants in the place, but you would not go wrong stoping by here to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.

It was also very inviting as it was a nice sunny day, and they had tables outside. It's a shame as they are for smokers. What about non-smokers who want to enjoy the sun and warm weather outside? Unfortunately, we were also subjected to the smoking. I do not drink coffee for medical reasons, and so settled for the hot chocolate. Here, it is a shame again, as most coffee shops, the "hot" is missing, and often I have to ask for extra hot if ever I go again. It was very well presented, but it also was quite powdery, so not the best hot chocolate that I have tasted. Perhaps, it does coffee better but I shall never know. The decor is nice, clean and relaxing and uncluttered with wooden tables. Friendly service. Closes at 6pm, and they starting packing up the outside tables and chairs around 5.50pm, which suited us, as we were just leaving! They also get another star for very nice and clean, modern and pleasant toilet facilities.

Arden's is actually very close to two other coffee shops - costa coffee and rocking horse and also very close to the supermarket waitrose. I like costa coffee, don't mistake me - but the place is just so crowded, you have to wait in queue anytime you get there and I don't like it that much. In fact, that's how I found this gem of coffee place, which is tucked in at the end of the talisman square shopping area. Arden's is also quite spacious and they have more tables upstairs as well. First time I went there I tried their hot chocolate and after two trips I am still addicted to that one. It's just delightful. I had to force my will upon trying something else. Although, the flat white was very good drink as well. But my favorite is hot chocolate. Also their homemade cheese scones. I am very familiar with this one in USA as well - in the southern parts of USA they call it biscuits(I know - what's biscuit in UK is known as cookies in USA). scones are served with butter. They also have paninis, rolls and sandwiches, if you are hungry for something savory. And their customer service is definitely top notch. Very attentive, patient and helpful. Isn't it all one could ask for from a business? During my many upcoming stays in Kenilworth, I will keep going back here to spend my weekend afternoons sipping tea and coffees. 5 stars.

Running parallel to the coffee shop is a number of quaint little farm shops selling nick nacks and shabby chic items. On my last visit there was also a clothing shop. I'd argue the baristas here are even more skilled than those at the Monmouth at the Borough Market in London. I've been several times and can't seem to get enough. I love the vintage style decor, bright, beautiful and welcoming. They even have small tables and chairs for the smaller children. The cream teas are excellent. There is a vast selection of teas to choose from and matching teapots too, i.e. the Rooibos Orange Cream would come in an orange teapot and the Rosé would be in the pink teapot. There are black teas, white teas, green teas, herbal and fruit and decaff. The scones and cakes are all homemade. The warm scones with its light and crumbly texture are just delicious with the fresh clotted cream and jam. Unlike no other tearooms, you can pour and pour your tea, and like magic, the tea seems to be bottomless from the teapot. If you would prefer hot chocolate, this comes in a pot too! Definitely one to come again and again.
