A glitch in the scheduling system placed two brand new movers (hired a week before) together on the same job without an experienced person to guide them. I am completely satisfied with how the situation was handled and appreciate their quick action to find a resolution to an exhaustingly arduous day moving. The way the company handled the situation once they learned of our experience speaks volumes and has restored my faith that this, hopefully, was just a once-off unfortunate day. After scheduling helpers to arrive at 8a we had to call the company and the contact person twice to find out why no one had arrived by 830a. A little after 9a two guys show up looking like they had just rolled out of bed. One was even wearing slide sandals! With no real idea of loading strategy and no actual strength or moving technique, my husband did the majority of the loading and directing. While moving a mattress, the guys just let it drop against the door and then continued to push and pull the mattress against the door putting a hole in the brand new door frame. The "movers" were overheard, while they were on their phones much of the time, talking about being hung over and going to bed at 4am. They also ordered pizza while on the job and while my husband loaded stuff on his own, they ate. It took over an hour to move 2 mattresses, a couch, 4 kitchen chairs, 4 ikea end tables and a small sofa table and we were only moving 3 miles down the road! Needless to say we still had a washer/dryer, desk, and small storage unit of boxes to move. What should have taken 2hrs with 3 guys took over 6hrs!! I will NEVER use this company again or recommend them to anyone looking to move efficiently or with help. Unbelievably awful experience.

Moral to the story, our furniture is now in our new house. That is the only good news. How they…read morewent about moving the furniture, not so good. 3 guys showed up at our old house, with 2 trucks. They were not wearing "uniforms" or tshirts to identify or represent themselves professionally. It was a very hot day, so I will give them grace for that. None of the furniture was wrapped to protect it from damage. The items were just loaded on the truck with the hope that it didn't fall or scrape against the other furniture. When they arrived at the new house, one of the movers took his sweaty tshirt off and layed it on our driveway to "dry out". At one point, there were 3 sweaty tshirts laying in the driveway. Again, I know it was hot, but that seemed a bit unprofessional. 2 of the 3 movers seemed very tired and not in the best shape to move furniture. They sighed loudly a lot and mumbled about having to move stuff down the stairs. Again...it was very hot, but I didn't expect our fabric furniture to be moved/balanced using a very sweaty head....so our couches and cushions had sweaty round wet spots that were very visible to the eye and to the touch. IF the furniture had been wrapped/protected, the sweat stains would not have been an issue. Now I feel like I need to have my couch and cushions cleaned. They damaged our hand rail taking stuff downstairs--again, no protection on the furniture. When I noticed the bashed up handrail (in our new built home) I threw towels over them to protect from further damage. Why did I have to do that? Shouldn't they? While moving another piece of furniture, they scraped and scratched the brand-new door, when I called out that they damaged the door the response was "that's what you get for having big furniture." Really? It's MY fault that you were careless? After being told that a desk needed to be moved downstairs the comment was made "there is already enough furniture in that room." I am guessing he didn't want to move anything else down the stairs? We told him to leave it and we would just do it then.....but he conceded and moved it. Lastly, the group appeared to be done moving our stuff and were gathering their water bottles and heading to the truck when I mentioned that we were missing a piece of furniture in our dining room. I was met with "oh yea, we had a casualty." I asked what happened. I was led to my garage and shown our custom designed, Amish built in Holmes County by Laverne Yoder, dining room buffet sitting on its end with the leg broken off--splintered up the whole back of the unit--just snapped right off. This isn't something that can be fixed easily as it is a solid piece of oak. I also don't think they were going to tell me about it. They didn't mention it until I asked where the piece was. Again, it was mentioned that our furniture was heavy and it broke taking it off the truck. well...if you had WRAPPED IT, and handled it with some care, it likely wouldn't have happened. This will be an expensive fix. The unit is currently sitting on books because it has no back leg. I am shocked that we were blamed for the issues because we have heavy furniture. You are a moving company. You move furniture for a living. We had a quote from another company but went with Mr Mover because they were less expensive. That other company was moving a neighbor the same day. They had more people there, all were dressed in matching tshirts with company logo, and ALL the furniture going into their house was wrapped in protective material. My advice, pay more and get peace of mind that your furniture and your home will be protected. We have a BRAND new home....with damaged doors and railings, a very nice custom piece of furniture that will be expensive to fix and a sweat-stained sectional couch and cushions. I spoke with Pam, she is apologetic, and I am waiting on how they are going to make this right.

Move Yourself, if able…read more.. Inaccurate "estimations". I was quoted for a 2-4 person crew to move a 2 bedroom apartment to a house at $150/ hour plus truck fees and mileage . The move was estimated to take 2 hours and a total of $475. I accounted/expected for double the moving time. Apparently this information is completely false. 2 movers arrived, the job took them 9 hours to complete and of course I was charged in excess of $2000 when the truck charge is included. When I called to dispute the charges. I was told they have no idea how many movers would be needed...is that not what the quote process was? You were informed it was a 2 BR apartment needing moved, you're a moving company, plan accordingly for the job and send the correct crew. When I broached this topic I was told a crew of 4 would have cost $300/hour, I again called back on my quote which did not include this information. At the end of the day, This is nothing but a scam. Do not entrust these people with your move. It's a classic scheme of moving slow to increase billable hours. Don't respond to them if they inquire about moving your things. The crew themselves were complicit, taking their time moving and making multiple trips to achieve the compete move. Sloppy with boxes and disregarding property. Chipped paint on an interior wall moving a sofa thru the hallway. Terrible service overall. Would never recommend. Follow-Up: I paid and tipped you for services rendered, it was a long hot day and I was raised to treat people the right way, which is why we offered you refreshments and food throughout the day. I am a man of my word and I pay for services that are performed. My issue remains that the quote/estimate were incorrect. I was quoted for 2 hours for a team of 2-4 movers @ $150 an hour. What came was the minimum of 2 and then you guys took take 5X the time with multiple trips needed back and forth (in theory the move should have taken no longer than double what was proposed/estimated). The pertinent information about the move was provided by my end. You quoted an estimate using those details, it's on your internal processing to determine the crew size/truck size/time estimate. My purchasing decision was based on that quote/estimated price. On the quote there was no mention of any upcharges for additional crew, there in lies another issue. You've been paid, I understand the charges, you need to understand my issue with your company and that process. The additional charges dropped were for "Step-Charges", you used no steps, only the elevator and a hallway. My total was still $1700, which is 3.5X what I was quoted. I reiterate, do not trust your move to this company, they are predatory and will only upcharge you and move extremely slow/tell you they need multiple trips to achieve a straight forward move.

He saw the number of items we had and was told exactly where the truck would need to park. Despite this, when it came time to settle the bill, the movers claimed the quote only included FIVE boxes--when in reality they moved well over 100--and that the walking distance was underestimated (100ft vs. 300ft). A two bedroom apartment with only five boxes? Seriously?! They tried to up charge us by more than $700 at the very last second, after everything was already off the truck. When I called Ramon, he was nothing like the friendly guy who came out originally. Instead, he acted clueless, dismissive, and nothing like the guy I first met. On top of that, once we started unpacking, we realized some boxes were missing entirely, and our beige couch had been delivered with stains. They had wrapped the mattresses, but not the couch--an obvious oversight. When I complained, they offered me a laughable $50 credit. After pushing back, they grudgingly increased it to $100, which doesn't even begin to cover the hassle and damage. Between the attempted last-minute price gouging, the lost boxes, the damaged furniture, and the dismissive attitude, I would never use this company again and cannot recommend them to anyone.
