I only gave this a 5 star rating so you would actually read my review. My story trumps all of the…read moreother reviews on this site, and I don't care if you don't believe me, I just have an obligation to mankind to warn you of what happened to me when I bought a groupon to have my carpets cleaned by Clean Guy Cleaning Service. I had basically the same experience as everyone else: bought a groupon, couldn't get a good appointment time, settled for a weekday morning and had to miss some work, and waited forever. I got a confirmation call the day before but they had the wrong address and I called their fake number back 30+ times, leaving many messages, trying to get some kind of response, when THEY FINALLY SHOWED UP! But that's not even the most unbelievable part of this whole story. Of course their setup was bogus, they had some beat-up carpet-whacking device from the 1950's. The thing was rusty covered in grime, I had to look away as they drug it into the house. I found out later it was the owner, who's name is Guy, and his accomplice "Linda" (if that is even her real name) who were there and very obviously they were involved in some way because of their constant bickering. It didn't last long though because while Guy was just starting to fire up this ancient carpet-"cleaning" equipment, what do I see but 3 police vehicles whipping around the corner of my quiet neighborhood! They didn't even have their sirens on but everyone on the street was sticking their noses out their doors to see what was going on, and next thing I know Guy is booking it out my back door and over the fence! There was a freaking cop chase going through my house!!!!! Well, they ended up hauling Guy off to jail. The detective told me he couldn't tell me all of the details because of the sensitivity of the case but he asked me a lot of questions about gang/organized crime activity, of which I know nothing of course, and by this time a tv news crew had pulled up and I had to get out of there. What a scene, just to have some 20+ year-old carpets cleaned. I went to Kroger and got a rug doctor. My house isn't even 1500 sq ft lol I think I can do this myself for the trouble. The story ended up on the news that night. I think Guy might still be incarcerated, I haven't looked it up at all. Groupon, will you please do background checks on these "businesses" you promote? You let a criminal into my home! I'm done with groupon for good. Well, maybe just sushi.
