Best Apartment Building and Staff in Seattle…read more Hands down, the best place we have lived in Seattle. Kayla Grayson and Amanda Lockleer are amazing. They make this building run like a well-oiled machine. They really take their time to make sure that tenants request are met in a timely, professional manner. Making the community feel like a home, not just an apartment like other places. The building is beautifully kept, the attention to detail is present from the flower arrangements in the lobby, the coffee bar in the waiting area and the well organize mailroom. We love how they go the extra step in letting you know well in advance if there is a need to have any kind of building maintenance done, that could impact your experience. That is something that we really appreciate. This is one of the many reasons we love living at the Linq.

These apartments are literally like high school musical. Management has way too much attitude and…read moreunprofessionalism. They didn't even provide a receipt with our security deposit refund -- they took $400 out of the $500 deposit. We moved in February and Moved out July due to EXCESSIVE SMOKING on the property. Throughout our duration at the LINQ our concerns about the smoking that continuously occurred next to the entrances and outside out balcony were ignored for over 3 mos even though management would take the time to chat with the smokers directly outside the entrance, allowing the secondhand smoke to linger inside DURING A GLOBAL PANDEMIC. We had to mutually terminate the lease as there was no ETA for a resolution due to current COVID moratoriums in place (which have now been extended through 2020) and management continued to delay and prioritize new residents even though we had clear health concerns as the smoker resided on our floor. They promised us immediate transfer and then took it back due to their failure to communicate with each other and letting it be rented out to someone else. Furthermore, not sure how the place is quiet. If you have lakeviews, I hope you enjoy waking up to dumpster trucks from Kenmore Square every other day and construction because the windows are far from soundproof. Also, someone enjoys karaoke-ing full blast to the same blasted country song MERCY at all times of the day -- so enjoy because the walls are def not soundproof either. Dog owners let their pets defecate on the sidewalks immediately outside the property and will leave it there, the stairwells smell of urine (our floor had a poop stain for over 2 months). For a total of 5 mos stay and an immaculate unit clean you better anticipate getting no refund on your deposit. If you can afford LINQ -- trust me you can do way better. Kayla -- the property manager never returned a phone call in the 4 months I requested her to contact me directly, she would postpone her email responses everyday til about 4:45 pm right before leaving. We stayed for 5 months, never paid a day late and received practically no concession. We were extremely patient considering we dealt with cigarette and marijuana smoke for that period of time and IT IS A "SMOKE-FREE COMMUNITY." I held my review til after the security deposit refund but I feel bad for not warning people sooner. They literally charged us the maximum amount at move out even though the unit was BEYOND DUSTY and DIRTY at move-IN and WE SHOWED THEM PHOTOS. I'm still shocked that a 150 sqft carpet clean (in 5 mos) comes out to $215. (These people rented out our unit the first week of August, literally within the first week we left, and waited until the last possible day to issue us our refund check and letters (August 20)-- talk about being petty -- guess that's there way of "expediting.") Just go somewhere else people, trust me you can save yourself the headaches -- literally. The only reason we were able to get a solution was because we quit playing LINQ's delay game and sought a phone call from upper community management INSITE, who promptly granted us a transfer to another community. So like I said -- just go somewhere else. -- FYI don't anticipate amenities anytime soon they will continue to blame COVID phases for everything -- and the luxurious coffee bar conveniently breaks down every morning so you better be the early bird to get your cup of joe.

The owners / property managers are pure evil and vicious. When I moved in the apartment one of…read morefirst things I noticed was that the carpeting in the bedroom was old. My partner complained about the stinky carpet in the bedroom that was worn out in several places and besides offering a carpet clean, they did nothing. Work orders would take more than 5 days to complete but they would mark them as "completed" online. The rent in 2025 increased by $500 / month. I was exhausted dealing with them and decided to move out. Just before handing over the keys to the apartment in 2025, I wanted to conduct the move-out inspection and the property manager, Hannah Wilson blocked me from entering the apartment and dialed 911. When the cops arrived on the scene, I explained the situation to them in a peaceful and calm manner and they were shocked to hear how petty she was being after I lived there for 5 years. The cops accompanied me to her office to drop off the keys so that she wouldn't try to bill me for the keys. And guess what? Hannah Wilson had the audacity to charge me for the keys and $1600 for the old carpet replacement, [which I had complained about in emails for years] She thought I didn't have any proof of claim. The maintenance supervisors mentioned on a few occasions that the carpet was old and recommended that I ask the property manager to replace it when I renewed my lease as opposed to the same old "carpet clean" offer. After I vacated the premises, the property manager wanted to charge me for the PODS container that was onsite for the weekend even though she knew all too well that the company doesn't collect the containers over the weekend. Another way to extract more $$$ from the tenants. Hannah Wilson is unfriendly, unprofessional and rude. You're better off living somewhere else rather than dealing with knuckleheads like this, the cops and lawyers to resolve this matter. When I sent a formal letter in the mail asking for proof of validation of the debt owed, there was no response. After it went to debt collection, I sent another formal letter in the mail listing out all the miscellaneous items and asking for proof of the original carpet installation and validation of their claims - again there was no response. If you have nothing to hide, you would come out clean and provide copies of the full ledger including carpet installation receipts.

I have lived in a handful of large managed buildings like the Spencer 68 over the last decade so…read moretook some of the previous reviews with a grain of salt as I was looking for short-term housing in between other arrangements. Large properties like this always have maintenance call issues (as noted in the reviews) but when touring I noticed the units I saw were pretty beat up (e.g. toilet seats with visible wear) for a community advertising "new" or "like-new units". However, I ignored the red flag as I figured I would be there 6 months max. Besides moving into an apartment that was dirty (visible pet hair everywhere), the worst part of my experience living there was the absolute shitshow of the package room. Unlike other modern buildings with individual lockers, there is just a room... full of people's stuff and it is actually impossible to find yours. No organization, not my name, building, etc. Just a pile of shit that increases daily. Theft is of course rampant and enabled by the office staff who don't want to make changes to the system. Other annoying things included: - Hallways that always smelled like trash (thanks to the trash valet service) - Overflowing exterior dumpsters, which always had trash and furniture strewn about outside - Incommunicative staff - they were going through a sale at the time but still I ended up terminating my lease early and worked with the office staff on the buy out and all the various fees. To my surprise nearly 2 months later, Greystar sent me an invoice stating I owed nearly $2,000 dollars. After replying to the notice and attaching my termination agreement they "revised" the total to be about $150 to cover additional cleaning fees and utilities. I really hope other previous tenants didn't just pay this and not assume the management company is right. For the money, it's worth looking at the sister properties (Flyway, etc) if you're tied to the downtown kenmore area as they seem to be nicer but they do share the same management company so your mileage may vary.

Since the change of management from Spencer 68 to a cheaper version which is a temp agency everything is so bad. 1. The office is unresponsive to your emails and questions. Unless of course they are emails about paying rent. They are sure to respond to those but not other complaints and questions. 2. There are constant issues with break ins and attempts to enter apartments when you are gone. 3. We scheduled to have our dishwasher looked at and we told them they can come at 3 different times so we can be in our unit during the work. They refused to respond, showed up to our door when nobody was there, unlocked the door and came in and did the work. "This is line is purely to demonstrate how mad I am as a resident of Spencer 68 that I needed to add this sentence" ...back to the issues. 4. They do not maintain any of the communal equipment. Everything is always broken or doesn't work. Overall, for the price that this place charges their residents it is ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH IT!

We also really appreciated having a small and private fenced patio. I definitely recommend Vermont apartments!

I lived here for just under 4 years. The apartment and community overall I loved. I'll break down…read moreall the pros and cons I experienced during that time frame. Pros: * The units are beautiful and well constructed. Noise from surrounding units was close to nonexistent. The paper thin walls that many apartments have wasn't an issue here. We received many compliments over the years on the layout and modern interior. * While it lacks the amenities of other larger complexes, I considered the small size to make up for it. It was private feeling, the grounds were beautifully managed and very safe. A few testaments to this: While residents of local communities complained of package theft and other items being taken off their door step, I never experienced that at Vermont. I routinely had Amazon Prime orders, grocery deliveries, outgoing shipments for pickup and personal items go untouched. I had a nice camera fall out of my purse on the sidewalk by the mailboxes. Hours later it was still there. As for maintaining the grounds, when several bushes were vandalized with spray paint at Vermont and the neighboring complex, they were cut back to normal within a day or two. Months later, the complex right next door still had their vandalized landscape not repaired. Cons: * Sharp rent increases each lease term are the norm. Mostly this is industry standard for the area but it still made for an unwelcome feel. Units would turn over quite a bit for the complex size, and I really felt this was the biggest factor. If we had stayed a fifth year we would have been paying $550 more then when we moved in. This is even with a lower increase negotiated one year. Water/Sewer/Trash increased 50% in 4 years time. Considering increases were close to new move in rates without getting a restored unit, it was a little insulting. * Overall the grounds were great, but trash overflowing was an issue. During storm season this would make quite a mess. Also at one point our building had a lot of ciggarette butts on the grounds that went ignored despite bringing it to their attention. * Office hours were slim to none. Expect a voicemail. Management turnover was insane. * Visitor parking spots were at a shortage. You get one covered spot and the rest was a challenge. We learned to rotate our cars when possible to avoid losing a spot. It was a significant issue 2015 forward. * Maintenance was a big concern. The head guy, I'll call him "E", left me wondering time and again how he kept his job. I assumed he must be a relative or something of upper management because he cut corners and screwed up nearly every maintenance request in our time there. Complaints on the matter fell on deaf ears. If you got someone else for the repair it was fine, but it was almost always him. * Despite leaving our place impeccable given the time there and having it professionally cleaned upon move out, they still try to nickel and dime from the deposit. Luckily we only wound up paying for carpet cleaning and a modest amount for paint touchups. Despite requiring this regardless of condition, it was offensive to charge to clean 6+ year old carpets that should have been (and were likely) replaced. We were even told they were in great shape for the age. The complex didn't seem to want to absorb nearly any expense for normal, minimal wear and tear. Overall, we loved our time at Vermont. We considered it one of the nicest options in the area especially factoring the competitive rental market. Cons aside, I would still recommend it.

It's such a scam and unprofessional. You rent an apartment and hoping that everything will work in the apartment. But no, after the first use of the sink in our apartment, we found out that our garbage disposal needs to be replaced. Why would we need to find out the first night we stayed? They did change it, but only on the third day. We weren't able to wash dishes and use the sink in the kitchen, plus it was all stinking. They did fix it, but the maintenance person left track-in dirt from shoes on the floor. Will it be acceptable if it were your home? Days later we found out that our Room Darkening Vinyl Blinds were broken before us. And they fixed it by putting tape on it. Is it even normal? It's our second week in that apartment and I have no idea what to expect next. I do understand that it's not a brand-new apartment, but you can't let anybody rent it without fixing it.

The carpets are absolutely disgusting. I had to tell my guests to not remove their socks because their feet would be black from the dirt. The water pressure in the sinks are TOO powerful, and are also rusty. The shower heads where so disgusting looking we immediately replaced it with a new one, like actually how do you expect people to wash their bodies under a shower head covered in grime and rust. The entire apartment is grimy looking and dated. The kitchen is small and even after cleaning all the drawers and surfaces it still looked yellowed and gross and the kitchen sinks are super shallow. Our dryer took THREE CYCLES to dry our clothing and even after maintenance came and "fixed it" it did the same thing. They need to clean out their dryer vents in the entire apartment complex as you can smell a burning smell sometimes which is super super dangerous.
