Had a meeting to get a quote for a bathroom remodel and was quiet thrown off when I was told "well…read morethis is a similar bathroom we did for 70k so if you're not looking to spend that, we're probably not your company". Completely rude. Not to mention, the question that would have made sense preceding that statement would have been: what is your budget? It felt like she made the decision that I was too poor of a project and didn't want to be bothered. Never even received a follow up. If there's a minimum spend or desired clientele, then that should be listed on the website. And your consultants should probably not be in the habit of assuming budgets without actually asking.

Every other contractor, many of the high end designers in Southlake area, priced the cabinets for my kitchen remodel between $20k-$40k. The quote I got back from this place was $89k!?!?! Just for kitchen cabinets! The entire remodel was going to be $200k+ whereas I've signed with someone else for half that price. I recommend going to the showroom, get some ideas then get your pricing from someone else. I definitely don't need kitchen cabinets that cost $89k, even if they will last through an atomic war! :)

As a general contractor serving Dallas/Fort Worth since 2011, I have chosen to work solely with…read moreApex directly. I've learned to not rely, although highly qualified, my master plumber as his job is to install the fixtures and run/extend/correct supply lines and drains. I have come to totally trust my saleswoman, Suzanne Chance! I have either accompanied or sent my clients directly to work with Suzanne. On a full master remodel in Frisco, my recently widowed client need to make major changes. Suzanne had her climb into and 'feel' the comfort of a soaker tub. We determined the client did not want traditional nor contemporary, but specifically preferred a "Transitional" design for which Suzanne was able to guide my client through the process. If you haven't shopped for fixtures, you will find it's like a candy store... you want to have each and one of every thing which can be overwhelming to decide which to buy; this is where my company comes into play in working with our clients and our vendors/suppliers to make the determination and narrow down the choices. No one has time to look for pricing of 10-20 different items. Have an idea of what you want, limiting to 2-3, if you value your time. What has been more valuable is learning the difference from items bought on Amazon, Ebay and even the big box... they are very cheap with plastic parts and that will not backup with any warranty outside of a short amount of days. This is what my saleswoman taught me and I share this knowledge with my clients. The young woman in Frisco's remodel? She LOVES her Kohler soaker tub and the matching fixtures for the tub, shower and double sinks. Everything looked like it was meant to be and the plumber was able to install all fixtures with ease as we had everything needed, the first time. It turned out beautiful and the homeowner was overwhelming pleased. The best part for our company was the efficiency in getting the materials. Although not everything came in at the same time, Suzanne Chance communicated what was ready for pickup and the status of pending items. She took the time to write on the invoice which listed all components, making a sketch of each product on the line which helped in understanding what goes with what. She labeled each box for better clarification and the plumber was able to install all fixtures with ease as we had everything needed, the first time. Loyal Customer/Contractor

We had to order our shower kit again because our contractor scratched the original one. We placed the new order and paid in full. A couple days later, we noticed another charge on our credit card from Apex and I called and they said their accounting system was really old and it was some shipping charge and a credit was issued. 2 days later another charge popped up for the same amount and I called back. Now, somehow it's an unpaid balance from the first purchase almost a year ago? They will not tell me what this was for and we paid everything in full both times we ordered. They did not notify us of the charge and charged it to our credit card without our consent! No one will provide any info about this extra charge. I emailed their accounting person and she will not respond. If you're looking to get ripped off or want unexpected, unauthorized charges on your credit card, shop here!

Upon walking into this beautifully spacious showroom we were welcomed with a sweet smile and offered a drink and before we knew it we were beginning to design all the bathrooms for our ranch. We were lucky enough to have Rachel Thomas as our consultant and she has guided us through each phase of our selections with ease and comfort. She has more knowledge and understanding of not only of the product she is showing - but also the prep work, application, and care of it all than anyone I have worked with over the years building various homes. So much so, she will be begin working on our newest home in Florida soon. Highly recommend this tile and bath showroom. I had finally decided to pull the trigger and redo my bathroom and my sister talked me into using…read morethe Tile Shop because they are a higher-end store. Since my bathroom is small I figured it didn't hurt to shell out more money for nicer tile. I worked with Lesley, and to her credit, she was helpful in helping me finalize my choices in tile. She had a good eye for color and I appreciated her assistance with that. Unfortunately, that's where the majority of nice things I could say end. First of all, I was told a specific date and time to come pick up my samples so I could make sure everything worked with the space. I go in and they could not find the samples. Said that they weren't ordered. Leslie was off that day, so to her credit, it wasn't her fault they didn't find them. I had to go to another store to get the samples (which I don't mind), but then later I was informed that they were there the whole time. Additionally, I never received correspondence clearing up the confusion or at least apologizing for the inconvenience. That honestly would not have been a big deal and they would be getting a much better rating if that had been it. Unfortunately, it only got worse once my credit card had been swiped. The delivery of the tile was almost three days later than originally quoted. Now I understand they don't control the shipping company, but it did put a little bit a of burn on the project because I was concerned the workers would be ready to tile and have no tile to do it with. The worst part is that once I received my floor tile almost half of what I purchased was broken or completely shattered. I called the store and they told me that they couldn't help because they "don't know who broke it". They secured me replacements at a store in Fort Worth and the installers were waiting on me so I went to Fort Worth and got the tile. The tile was a noticeably lesser quality than the ones that were still usable from the shipment. We had to pick through those tiles to find what was most usable and then ended up hiding them under the vanity in the bathroom. I called to ask if it were possible to at least help me with the shipping costs because this whole fiasco started as a result of the careless shipping. I spoke with the manager Michael and he was very rude and basically told me that I was looking for a refund because I "had to drive to Fort Worth". He told me I shouldn't have installed the tile if it was such a problem and then contacted them to get new tiles. The problem there is the shipping takes a week at a minimum. I had a guy who's waiting on me to complete this job so he can continue onto the next job, so that would have placed our project at a standstill and left me without a functioning bathroom for another week to possibly ten days for a mistake that was not my fault. You know, it would have been nice to have at least been offered a store credit. Hell, I would have even been slightly appeased with a "sorry that happened". If I could go back and do it again I would not have used The Tile Shop. I would have thought that a fancier store would have much nicer and more accommodating customer service, but they greatly fell short of my expectations. I honesty felt like I was inconveniencing them and their brooding time by even walking into the store or calling every time I needed something. I'm sure they don't care, but I won't be coming back when it's time to do my kitchen project or any other future projects. It's very disappointing that the one time I decided to splurge I got this type of treatment. I guess it's back to Home Depot where apparently people like me belong. They made me feel like I'm some sort of peasant. 0/10. Would give negative stars if I could.

I never got a solid plan, they hard-sold me high, promising we would reduce it, just to make me sign the contract. (my first mistake) Of course, those meetings to discuss my priorities and reduce the budget, never came. My dream wasn't realized as they either vetoed, forgot or bumbled each feature of my design. Examples: I have a wavy wall, it took them days to correct the paint throughout the house, they flat refused to match my craftsman trim, they forgot my vented kitchen hood, vetoed my transom (they don't even know what that is), failed plumbing inspection three times and nearly blew up my house. (I'm not embellishing) Had to install the cabinets twice (ordered incorrectly and hung at the wrong height), the rough plumbing is so poorly done that the knobs don't sit right and turn lop-sided; failed to contain the renovation dust which covered even stuff inside cabinets and drawers throughout the house. The cleaning crew came multiple times and I still had to hire my own at a cost of $360, to get all the ceiling fans, fixtures, floors, etc. finally clear of dust and paint splatters. They scratched my hardwoods and damaged my stove. To top it off, they stopped paying the subs and one of them put a lien on my house, EVEN though, i was up to date on my payment arrangement. (Yes, that's totally legal, for some reason!) The drama continues as I need help correcting some issues that i don't feel I should have to live with. I don't have the energy to upload pics but maybe later. Just trust me; pick someone else. Signed, Exhausted, Angry and Broke

I became aware of Expressions in the past because they were one of the few stores that carried Miele after the Miele corporate showroom closed. They have a very nice mixture of super high end appliances and fixtures and those of the more mundane rudimentary variety. It's unfortunate that their branch location in Southlake closed, but I will continue to patronize their main location off Dragon St. If you're still going to Home Depot & Lowe's for your appliances you're missing a lot of alternative options which are usually more stylish. Not to say their is anything wrong with big box outlets, but I can only stomach so many different Samsungs and LGs repackaged pretending to be something else. The pricing is always very fair and consistent with AJ Madison or other online retailers, but with all the accoutrements of a real retail experience. I don't know if they offer any sort of in house financing etc, which for some people might be a deal breaker, but just get yourself a good American Express card that features an extended warranty and you'll be fine.
