Areas to include tile floor throughout the house, baseboards, and the entire kitchen. The contractor never completed the job and the areas they did install were done incorrectly. During demo, they also broke something in our electrical/breaker causing my living room to not have power and random power outages. Work was paid in full, and now they will not return calls or make attempts to make things right. I have a medically complex child that consumes my day to day and find it incredibly unprofessional the way they have managed this project. They have essentially stole our money for services they did not render, they have taken advantage of our kindness and grace. Contractually, they are bind by our agreement and they have not complied. Unacceptable. The incomplete areas are further damaging since they have not been sealed/finished. Details of issues below: Tile floors throughout the house (approx 1800SF), have hollowing, uneven/very light grout color, when it should just be dark brown, stains from texturing/painting and odd areas that are white, makes me think its coming from underneath the tiles. Baseboards were never finished, many areas with drywall exposed, wrong paint used (water-base paint) and cannot be cleaned because the paint comes off, and some not painted at all, the corner baseboards do not connect and have large space between them (seperating more now., also the bottom part of the baseboards that were installed are not sealed which I was adamant about since water from mopping collects under them, causing the material to warp. Kitchen backsplash incorrectly installed, they put grout instead of silicone where the backsplash meets the countertops, its now crusty, stained, and cracked. The base cabinets where my range is, has a small wooden piece propping up the cabinet, presume the cabinets weren't balanced and if that comes out they'll tilt and damage the countertops. On the same side there is a big gap on each side - again, presume that contributes to the lack of foundational support. Inside of my pantry the flooring is completely stained with debris, also doesn't have baseboards installed. The kitchen was supposed to be painted but is incomplete and the walls they retextured are rough and splattered everywhere and will not come out. Living room does not have power in any of the outlets, breaker also has issues tripping since the demo, causing us to not have power or very little. Also, floors were stained when they painted "some" of the kitchen and hallway because they did not lay down anything to protect the floors. Majority of outlet covers missing or poorly installed and are "floating" Master bathroom toilet closet has holes in the walls from the crowbar they used to remove previous boards, toilet not fixed into floor and moves easily. Painters tape still framing that room and other areas that I have not been able or should have to remove. I am most likely forgetting things, but I am overwhelmed. This is not ok. The customer should not need to pull the lead and press for answers about whether a 40 year old header needs to be replaced if trade can see that the header is fine. See photo. Contractors and trade should be honest from the start, beginning with the initial estimate. Other red flags (in retrospect) worth mentioning that are consistent with other recent reviews: -The employee who provided an estimate showed up over an hour before the scheduled time, examined our garage framing from only the outside, and did not return to finish the estimate an hour later as promised. -LBW scheduled our job a week later than initially agreed. -The lead asked open ended questions about the scope of the job upon arrival at the job, making it unclear whether he knew what work needed to be completed. As pleasant as the lead and office administrator were, it feels like we were hustled. If you engage with LBW, make sure you need the work!

At 65 years old, this is only the second review of a business I've ever written but I feel like I…read morehave been so taken advantage of or mislead that I had to write. This is a pretty long review so if you'd prefer to skip the details, here's my review in summary...it's like the old joke about the guy that's offered a great deal on a used car and when he goes to pick it up there are no tires on the car. When he questions the seller, the seller responds "Oh, I didn't know you wanted tires too". I asked for an estimate on removing the poles left from my tearing out the drywall on a couple of walls in our very small 1970's ranch-style home. After a Zoom consultation with Jason, I believe, he sent me a written estimate which I accepted and paid a 25% deposit. I'm not sure of his name because I never heard from or saw him again. Two weeks before the project's scheduled date someone else from LBW's came out to look over the project and told me that there was no way they could do the project for that price and so if I wanted them to do the "drywall patch" afterwards it would be another $3800. $3800. This was more than 50% of the total project. I asked what that entails and he explains that it was just covering the 2 beams at the ceiling line with drywall putty. The way it was explained to me it seemed like a very insignificant thing as well as seeming to be way overpriced for the amount of work he described it would involve; so I said "Well geez then I'll just have to do that myself or something." This had been scheduled for weeks and now at the 9th hour they're wanting another $4000 from me when the whole project was only $6500 to start with! I got my written estimate out to show him and the way the estimate reads there were 3 categories...the first category described part of the project and the extended amount was $0. The second category described a bigger part of the project and the extended amount was $6500. The third referred to "tape and bed" and the extended amount was $0. The bottom line or total was therefore $6500 which I assumed included everything in the estimate. This was the first I'd heard of anything costing "extra". He didn't comment or say anything else and just made a note on his paper. After he left I really felt like I had been part of a "bait & switch" deal or something. The same person came out again several days before the project was to start and we went over the same details. I asked again about the drywall and he again explained it to me like it was just covering "the slit in the ceiling we have to make in order to raise the beam into place." Again he made it seem like almost an afterthought or that I would just have to throw a little drywall putty up there along a slit line just to cover the edge of the new beam. There was no warning or concern I didn't understand the extent of what we were discussing or anything. I asked it he would be there just to make sure and he said he would. And just like I initially thought the estimate included everything necessary to do the job I now also thought I knew what to expect at the completion of the project. The day of the job about 8 men showed up but he wasn't one of them. Like the estimator I never saw the second guy again either. Only 1 of the 8 men spoke even the slightest English and I mean the type of non-speaking English person that responds to you basically with just a blank stare when asked something. At 5pm they were finished and the pictures show how my house looked at completion (except it DOESN"T show how there were also about 10 bundles of electricity/outlets/switches left hanging from the ceiling and laying on the floor where my two dogs were discovering something new for potential chewing...SO I asked a nice neighbor and he came over and tacked them up into the ceiling for safety until I could get someone out to fix them. Of course I'm not prepared and now have to find someone to do all this work and in the meantime live only in our bedroom as the temperature in the house is the same as it is outside. In late June in Texas. Our house is very small. I had started trying to update our 50 year old house myself a couple of years ago to save money however my husband then got very very ill and after being hospitalized for weeks and going through several life-threatening surguries he returned to work only to be let go. So we are now completing the project I started two years ago simply because we cannot afford our house anymore and in order to sell it must have the ceiling fixed. My husband is 70 and is in poor health. $6500 is ALOT of money for us right now and now I guess we have to come up with a lot more. I just feel extremely let down and stupid. I wish someone had explained the project to me more clearly or had given me an estimate that included not leaving our entire ceiling open. Professional service from TJ right down through his workers. TJ made sure he had a thorough understanding of what we wanted, was very knowledgeable and was easy to work with on anything unexpected that came up. The work area was kept clean, and the guys were in and out as expected. The price was entirely reasonable, and the quote was adhered to. When the project was finished, TJ came and did a walk-through and asked me if there was anything I felt needed to be addressed before they were done. I had a few little things, and they were taken care of right away. In other words, they weren't done until we were fully satisfied, and they stood behind that. I have a lot of respect for companies that do this. Cons: only one and not that bad - communication around the beginning and the end of the project was a little difficult. The end of the project fell around the holidays, so I'll take that into consideration. Throughout the project all was fine. I would highly recommend using Tundra Construction.
