I heard of this establishment from a friend who knows my holistic wellness awareness and my search for a local bulk supply source. Despite negative online reviews, I still decided to make a visit as I tend to support local women owned businesses and to appease my curiosity of what remedies I might find housed there. While the layout of the establishment is rustic yet organized, Margie the owner, is quite brusque in conversation and tends to talk over and interject her beliefs before listening to the customer to which I found rather off putting. On the other hand, the other staff persons were very friendly and helpful. Margie suggested I schedule a time for her to perform "muscle testing" on me. I politely declined. I believe in the transfer of energy including but not limited to by touch or speech. In light of her curt tone, I would rather not receive nor absorb anything she'd question or whisper into nor touch any part of my being. Unfortunately, I made no purchases that day and have no plans to return. I wish others the best in their homeopathic endeavors but I would have been remiss to not share my experience. read more

Margie will brainwash people into taking her herbs instead of following doctors recommendations. My father was diagnosed with cancer recently and margie is in the process of brainwashing him not to do radiation and such. She has been sued for this before. read more

Stopped in here to see about homeopathic remedies and to find out more about CBD oil and gel capsules. They were very helpful and knowledgeable, very friendly. I ended up buying two trial sizes of the hemp extract capsules, $3 each pack. The lady that helped me recommended them to start and if those work, to purchase the oil which is 1500 mg and very helpful for folks dealing with chronic pain. Very glad to know there's a local place (about 14 miles from WF) to learn about natural remedies. Love the building, too. Older farmhouse/barn (not sure), but very cool inside with the original wood floors! Will return once I figure out if CBD does work. read more

Specializing in homeopathic, medicinal herbs and essential oils, Timberlake is a fun store to explore. Left in a natural state, the building's door sticks in the humidity, the floors are wood and sometimes creak; the windowless dark walls lend a certain coziness, but because of the open center aisle, the room is not claustrophobic. Of course, if anyone has claustrophobia, Timberlake might actually have something natural to lessen the anxiety. What immediately caught my eye were the large glass jars of various bulk herbs lining the wall on the left. They have nearly every imaginable type ready for anyone who wants to order something by weight. On the display counter on the right, already pre-packaged were herbal capsules for various ailments. Although the packets didn't label the ingredients, when I asked, the staff provided me a listing of what each contains. Another customer had asked about the cleansing tea, and was given a sheet with the instructions. There's a fair amount of books of herbal remedies and uses, although the employees seem to have a decent working knowledge of the various offerings. I've never seen ear candling candles for over the counter sale, so it was interesting to see them and hear the employee explain to a customer how they worked. And anyone who wants to make his or her own massage oil, Timberlake carries a few of the basic essential oils. I walked in and the owner said hi and welcomed me. I said hi back and thanked her. She said that if I need any help with the herbs, to put the jar on the table so I said okay. I looked around and found a napkin to grab the jars with. She said we're not scared of your germs. I said "I'm scared of yours" half jokingly. She said "GEEEEZ, herbs are very powerful. You need to be educated on the virus". I said okay and proceeded to grab the jars I wanted with the napkin. She asked me how much I wanted to start with and I told her I wasn't sure yet while looking for the next herb. She scoffed and asked me if I wanted to start with one ounce so that they can get started. At that point I told her never mind because I don't like her attitude and she said fine and told me not to come back. I've read other reviews on this woman's behavior but I didn't want it to deter me from going. I've gone twice without an issue but apparently today someone pissed in her coffee. Ever had a friend call you one Sat morning and say "Hey, you want to just go explore?" then you drive aimlessly and end up at an herbal market set up in an old house in the middle of a random road? No? Well...it can and did happen to me. It felt like something from a movie. We approached the, somewhat, worn yet stable old wood/frame house and parked alongside the building. I was not expecting to see so many people inside. I was also not expecting to see such a well-stocked supply of herbs and other natural products. There was something happening in every location. There were people in the rear receiving readings, people seeking essential oils, a couple purchasing crystals and some picking up their regular bulk orders of herbs. If you need herbal remedies, I'm willing to bet they're here. Annnnnd if they don't have it, they can probably get it for you. All of your homeopathic desires can be fulfilled in this old random house. read more

I have been dealing with Timberlake store and I have never had problem with anyone at all. The owner has been very helpful, kind, and supportive in every way. I have managed to get off of a lot of medication that has been against my health in every way. I have learned what is good and bad for me. I am feeling great, because I know now know what I need for me to get healthy, thanks to TIMBERLAKE staff and owner. I have going there since 2001. The owner is incredibly rude. The selection is good but the service is horrendous. There's better stores out there with polite owners that do not have multiple terrible reviews about being rude to customers. Save yourself the hassle. read more

I have been coming to this place for a few years now. I actually travel from Raleigh with is a good 40 minute drive each way. The store is well worth the drive. The owner is respectful and honest.
